Definitely interested in flight exercises. 10/10. Good content. Will watch more. But seriously. I’m currently the owner of one quaker parrot (she’s a pretty decent flier, but I’m sure she’d enjoy these exercises nonetheless) but I’m actually preparing to bring home two more birds, another quaker and an Indian ringneck. Both of them are clipped (I don’t personally clip my birds. I have the ability to keep them safely flighted so why wouldn’t I?) and I plan on letting their flight feathers grow out. This and part 1 will be really helpful for them as they’ve been with this owner for 3-5 years. The ringneck has some muscle as he enjoys flying, but I’m guessing I’m going to be starting from square one on the quaker. Either way, I’m excited to try some of these with them in the future
I have a female Senegal who has become a good flier, but I never thought to challenge her in these ways. I am inspired; I thank you for the ideas! I vote for part 3.
@@jordyn2726 I think he might be a he (not confirmed yet) I tamed him, he can do tricks, he was severely clipped by his breeder tho:( He has a flight cage that is only for sleeping because he is out the whole day due to the stay at home order where I live. He cuddles with me a lot and he lets me give him scritches. He is still on a seed diet tho:( But, he just recently got his first vet visit and he is super healthy and average. Also if you didn't already see, he is in my pfp!:)
Loving the steady stream of videos! Can you do a tutorial on how to train birds on foraging? I thought it would be instinctual, but it seems like I will have to teach every single toy to my lil guy..
I really need your opinion! I have two cockatiels, Zorro and Alkaid. They're both males. I dont think they are bonded. Zorro is quite mean to Alkaid, hes bites and chases him multiple times a day. He is always mean to me, he bites me and is hard to train. So I was wondering if I could seperate them and rehome Zorro? I have two cages now so I could do a little trail run first
my bird doesnt want to stay on his perch as soon as he knows its time for flight training he just flies at me as soon as i put him back on the perch so i never get very far. can i teach him to stay ?
From what I have learned, here’s what I would do: Start with what the bird is already successful at (flying to your hand while you are moving) and reward that behavior. Take steps towards the end desired goal. Each repetition, decrease the amount you move. Check for understanding by repeating each phase 5-10 times. Start with slowing your walking speed, then only moving your arm. After that, slowly decrease the amount your arm moves as well. Slow down how much your hand moves, and eventually you’ll reach a point where your bird will recall to a still hand. Make sure to go at your bird’s own pace! Hoped this helped.
Love this! Thanks
Thank you so much for a Part 2 ❤️❤️ I love it! ❤️

Please do a video on parrot sickness and how to detect them early so you can get them to a vet before it is too late ❤️
Thank you for the sharing! Can you also share about birds flying back to their perches please?
Nice vid
Newt and mia are so cute

Wow so many videos in a row! Thank you
Yes, please do a part 3! My cockatiel has come a long way in the last 3 months, but still needs work on planning her landings.
Yes, a Part III on this topic would be great!
Can you please make a part 3 about free flight indoors
I'M GETTING A BUDGIE TOMORROW!!!!

I can't find part 1. Could you please help me find by it by creating a linjk?
Hello flock talk im new in birds
Nice, what's your bird?

hey, I have an african love bird, and I would like to ask if what could be the age of a love bird to start training?
A bird can start learning at ANY age, the younger the easier it is!
Are jute rope and coconut coir rope safe for birds? .your birds look so cute and adorable
What's jute rope?I know twine rope is safe and cotton rope is NOT safe.
And also what's coconut coir rope?
Jute is also a natural fibre. But I am not sure if it's safe for birds because some say that birds can chew the rope and get choked
@@87.l9 coconut coir is obtained from coconut fibre
@@dinesh9047 I just looked on Google, it says jute rope is safe. But it also says it can't have oil or pesticides in it.
I've tried multiple times recall training my birds and I failed :(
And my birds laugh (happy squawking) at me for it.
@d. nuzzio I don't have a clicker :/
and even my bird that's the most well behaved won't do it.
@d. nuzzio it's not that important.
I've watched videos on it before and all of them never work on my birds
