I thought about some things recently: 1) change the cr-downscaling. Probably with a choice to run the content for loot/renown with cr scaling and a option to que without downscaling so the people can get the feats and catch up faster. Of course without rewards. 2) PvP revamp. Back in times it was a loved part of this game. 3) make Alts strong again. For example making it possible to get arts and allies easy accessable on a side toon. If you got some 200 arts or level 10 allies on your main then you can buy it on your alt. Or you only need to breakthrough. Something like that. I think those are some good things for returning and new players and of course for the currently playing people. Sry for my english😂.
@@felorivera1054 The material part should be in the game for a long time we can get auras but not rare materials for alts is not making much sense im not going to farm another year just to get the same material on another character
And I still stand by my words that even though that marvel mmo looked hella goofy, it would have had more players than dcuo. You telling me I could have chose to be either X-men, avengers or someshit, AND it’d be on a current gen game engine?? Yeah nah, everybody would have hopped ship
DC is a very casual game, you can farm your stuff, get full elite do the feats of that DLC and don't log until new DLC I suppose they need to find a way to give us a reason to play the game more often that isn't forced and it feels very worth it and fun
Good luck trying to have a discussion on the forums, when you said “don’t let those 10-20 people make decisions for you” you hit the nail on the head lol. The forums have always felt like a Good Ol’ Boys club of gatekeepers. This is especially true if you ever request anything iconic. Which is a shame because DC’s Animated Universe is their gold much like Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. The fact this game looks outdated/cartoonish to where our characters are referred to as our “toons” you’d think perhaps a wise idea would be to try to cash in on Batman the Animated Series/movies, Batman Beyond, Justice League/Unlimited, Superman Adventures, and Static Shock. Especially since this game uses several of their Animated Universe voice actors and could easily pass as a video game spiritual successor to those old shows that ties into current comic media stuff here and there. However ideas like leaning into what they have going for them usually will get shit on by forum Boomers that will request old comic characters nobody has heard of that wouldn’t help sell the game or they want goofy shit like Unicorn/brony junk. I honestly feel the majority of the player base is around 20-40 years old so I’d recommend milking the comics and Animated Series this age group grew up with. It’s also a shame the Shaded Comic Material they locked behind a Booster Bundle as it makes characters look far better and more like comic book characters and helps hide how out dated some of the graphics and styles are since the game is 12 years old with no graphic update. I earned mine but looking back it should have been given out to everyone to help lean into the comic book cartoonish feel of the game and hide some of the dated graphics which has become a major turn off and complaint keeping new players away.
i love this game. Marvel couldn't even make nothing close to this game. But it's way to taxing on my pockets and time. The skill points grind is nearly impossible now because of the player base.
I've got 775 sp currently. But I've playing for 9+ years. If I started playing within the last year achieving that sp number would be literally impossible. Dcuo as a game is on maintenance mode and will stay this way until it shuts down. Maintenance mode is yes new episodes still happen along with all the cash grabs but nothing else happens. No fixes to anything. No new systems added. No inspiration at all. If certain people saw my comment they'd actually respond with "But we're getting a new emote system." 😂
I got 650+ SP and stayed away from High SP players last time I played, man the egos on these pricks. If you join their league, its just bunch of dicks pissing contest. They claim to be above everyone else and yet run raid with their lil clicks. If you're so good then PUG and push yourself. I don't belong to any league so I won't have to listen to these pricks.
I found a league that is sp hunting and helping me out. Went from 200 sp to 311 sp in 10 days. Also brought styles too from the vendors that unlock feats.
They should let us have our alts as backups as a theme we get to chose which 3 backups we want as those backups, take away the cr stat clamping already, leveling up getting stronger should be a reward not a punishment when going back to older content, at least have an option for it
The one thing about steam numbers is that people don't tend to play MMOs(especially older MMOs) on the steam platform. Just as an example EQ's average players on steam is just below 300 and we know for sure a ton more people play than that. Its actually more likely that double the amount of players for DCUO play on the native platform, which is probably how MMO population got their number. I just started the game 2 weeks ago and I'm really loving it. Your videos have been super helpful so thank you!
@@ryanoriain3697 You should see how many are on the switch, compared to the crossplay between ps/pc, nothing compares to the severely low numbers on the switch. You see the same people every day.
I know a portion of your viewers are on console, but for those on PC. Guild Wars 2 is amazing, gorgeous and really hits that niche. No subscription, no Pay wall etc. Buy the DLC and that's it (3 DLCs but they have 1000s of hours of content and massive new continents). You can even buy premium currency(Gems) with gold to ensure there are no gold seller bots etc. Very ALT friendly, most stuff is account bound rather than soulbound. NO GATCHA GEAR LEVEL UP SYSTEM!! The way you grind the best stuff is by running things, there is not upgrading an artifact 100 times. Everything on the Premium store is cosmetic only and some convenience items too like character slots etc. Nothing that affects stats in anyway. Impposible to be pay-to-win. Best mount system to ever be released in a game as well. Oh did I mention Gw2 is free? I dumped 1000s of hours into DCUO, I started when FoS T3 was the newest raid all the way until Batman who Laughs content. I LOVE DCUO with all my heart but they have truly taken a turn in caring for the community, its about money to keep the server afloat sadly. My reccomendation isnt trying to steer you from DCUO, it's like a child to me as well so I get the love for the game you guys have. I really hope it somehow gets revived.
@@iEddyGaming I've tried many mmos far and between. I've never put as much time into another as DCUO, and the closest thing I could scratch the itch in terms of gameplay, is GW2. The theme is different and that's what would throw most people off if you're not into fantasy. Highly reccomend and I know it would be your style of game Eddy! Very large community and renowned as the friendliest along with FF14. DCUO will always be the best superhero MMO though, period.
In terms of combat and traditional MMO roles, I like DCUO better. GW2 is fantasy style, I think the RPG aspect is great, but in terms of actual gameplay I like DCUO better.
@@Henoshock They have the same combat style. Gw2 just looks better because of how DCUO is made. They both are action combat and everything casts the same, animations just look better in Gw2. You clip animations like you do in DC. The mmo roles though isn't really a thing thats true. But every class can be nearly every role, not at the same time but there are only a few classes that are limited. If youre doing open world content then no there arent roles required. If you're doing raids/strikes (Strikes are like raids but just the boss thats it.) they do require a role. Dungeons dont require roles usually. Fractals don't either(Fractals are basically dungeons that have a cut off story from the main game and you warp to different realms to beat a mini dungeon called a Fractal. There is 99 of them and you can only do the next one once youve completed the prior. Gw2 has a ton of depth and its almost linear with what DCUO is, except fantasy and depending on what content youre running, the roles dont matter.
If they made another super hero MMO, DCUO would probably die and then we'd finally get a DCUO2. So here's to hoping Marvel gives us some competition in the super hero MMO genre.
DCUO needs to take a page from SWTOR and create instances like SWTOR's Flashpoints, where a couple players can team up and go duke it out with dungeon baddies and have a great time doing it. Simplistic fun with gear drops etc.
Daybreak being secretive is very weird. My guess is the reason is the population is very small compared to other MMO games. So daybreak hides the numbers because they don't want criticism. Which says a lot about them as a company. This is what happens when games go p2w. There are countless examples of it over the years in the gaming world. When the p2w starts the decent people (I mean people not player ability) start leaving. Some of the good players ability wise leave too. And what's left is mainly the toxic players. And the toxic players do a lot to drive other players away from the game. So the population will continue to shrink. It doesn't take much to see the end game population continues to shrink every year. So much so that I've had countless league mates and friends quit and I've had to start running with players I want no part of because they're toxic. Dcuo is in a very sad state atm. Speed hackers are all over the place and face 0 consequences. Mepps tells the community they ban speed hackers but it's a lie. I've personally reported some of them with video evidence and these players are still on the game. The content is copy/paste with no inspiration at all. It's boring. But daybreak keeps pumping out capsule after capsule, artifact after artifact, ally after ally, and booster bundle after booster bundle. This should show players daybreak doesn't care about the episode content, all they care about is milking as much money from players as possible while doing as little as possible when it comes to development for the rest of the game.
100% That would be make EU player's lives much easier. Xbox and PS/PC can't merge because of Xbox and PS having licensing issues + they like to fight alot 😂
Honestly, I'm not surprised to see DCUO's player base dwindling, especially when they changed their tune on the issue of those Brainiac bottles cluttering a significant chunk of the overworld. The promise to eventually unbottle iconic locations like the Daily Planet seemed like a distant dream, and eventually Mepps and others outright changed their promise from 'one day' to 'We can't.' The shift towards instance-style maps at the expense of the immersive open-world experience felt like a betrayal of what drew many players to the game in the first place. The neglect of the roleplaying community, with iconic locations compromised for convenience, was the final straw. It's a pattern we've seen in many modern MMORPGs - a lack of understanding about the impact of roleplayers on both immersion and community dynamics until it's too late. Roleplayers contribute immensely to the in-game economy, investing in cosmetic items and customization options, which are crucial revenue streams for developers. What's more, roleplayers tend to be loyal players. Their dedication translates into long-term players who are more likely to spend money on expansions, premium subscriptions, and other in-game features. Losing this committed player base can have a cascading effect on the game's financial health. From a business perspective, roleplayers also play a vital role in community engagement, creating content and events that contribute to the overall narrative of the game. This dynamic, player-driven storytelling is a unique selling point for MMORPGs. When developers disregard or sideline roleplayers, they risk losing this organic, community-driven content creation. DCUO had so much potential, and it's disappointing to see it succumb to these pitfalls. On a broader note, there's a drastic hole in the MMO market for anything that isn't just high fantasy. Many players are yearning for diverse settings and themes, and it seems like game developers are missing out on this untapped potential, so it's an utter shame to see one of the only ones online that doesn't look like it's from 2002 die like this.
It's honestly got a pretty healthy population for a B-tier game, as well as respectable bi-yearly updates (ffxiv only get one every 4 months, it's not that much more), and seasonal events. People need to get their expectations in line to not ruin their experience, and understand that DCUO is not pulling in what a bigger game would, but they're doing very well with the likely humble budget they have. In a way itt's actually somewhat unfortunate that it has as much content as it does, as that's something spreading the modest playerbase thin. That said, it speaks well for the game how much attention content creators give it -- I've played games with bigger populations (at the time) with nowhere near the active community DCUO has.
This game feels like a chore more than a game. I played dc for the first time back in 2012. 2012-2016 were the prime years, from there, it slowly went down hill. I miss when the devs actually interacted with the community. This game can be saved by 1. Merging all platforms together on one server 2. Refurbishing all style items in a mass update rather than in a cash grab TC. 3. Get rid of stat clamping in PvE content as well as PvP 4. Release PVP content when new PvE content releases 5. Interact with the community more (Bring back Friday night legends)
Agree fully. Reason it's dead is you're limited to doing certain activities etc unless you pay to play which is why ppl dont play it, ppl want to grind and enjoy the game. Not either wait 2 yrs to max a char out or pay 2 grand for replays. They need to get with the times if they want the game to be active again.
I think there’s enough people playing where if you need something, it can be done unlike nintendo switch. Most are probably in their mid or late 30’s and we all got lives to life and can’t be on everyday. It sounds like most want each phase to be filled with 100+ and that makes the game lagg. Daybreak is also the issue and can have major improvements
Artifacts killed it. The moment they became a requirement to succeed in content they successfully killed off any new players they may have received. No one is going to start a game and drop 200 dollars per artifact in order to play with those who are already there. And for those who say you can get enough nth metal freely. No one is going to start a game and wait a year while being complete garbage before they get enough material for half of a single artifact. This also killed off alts. Why make a new character when you KNOW they'll be garbage without throwing in hundreds of dollars for em. DC has done it to themselves. I have ideas to fix it but I'll watch em burn instead. They'll have to beg me like dogs and then I'll drop some very tried and truel suggestions 🤣😆 But let's be honest, the game is going to die because no one will take this post seriously lol. Oh well.
shame too bc if they devs got off there asses and implemented some actual good changes, it could revive the gamebase. I for one would come back if they added new players and actually cared about balance/future content :(
Big changes? Drastic changes? Lol no. The game is in maintenance mode. Has been for a long time. Sure the devs will never say this publicly, but all the bs about few devs, new devs in training, future plans... that's all that is. BS. Game is in milking mode now, focused on squeezing as much money from the few cows remaining with minimal effort. Didn't anyone think why they can do new skins for iconics but "it's legacy code" for all other powers? Haha. It's because they are happy to push all dumdums to play loadouts with 6 iconics, that way they only bother with 10 skills in the entire game for balance and bugs, and can ignore all the other powerset skills. Not to mention that there doesn't seem to be any problem with coding new allies and artifacts, but fixing years old bugs that sometimes are literally game breaking? Oh no that's legacy code... the new devs need experience... the dog ate my homework... the sun was in my eyes... Hahaha. At this point this game is only about "enjoying it while it lasts". No reasonable ammount of people throwing money at it won't make the company resurrect the game from maintenance mode. And a number that might change their mind is not possible since there are much better games out there, even if nothing super hero related.
That's the thing.. "Enjoying while it lasts" makes me sad lol Because it has been a big part of my life for last 11 years, and pretty sure I am not the only one. So seeing it going down like that, it's just sad.
want to know the number 1 reason why the game is stagnant when it comes to population? The paywall, lets be honest, most MMO have a membership like any other but the difference is when you pay for it you have access to everything. Caveats include marketplace cosmetics like in WoW, Dota, etc. The biggest gripe, and I know many people will agree, is replay badges and the emphasis on artifact leveling which lets be honest is pay to win/pay to progress they're one and the same. When I pay for a membership like in DCUO for $15/mo I should never have to pay for replay badges on current content. EVER. I am paying (as the customer) for the premium to play at my leisure to enjoy and progress, not have another pay wall to progress. I have played many freemium games in the past where due to a heavy pay wall for content and "p2w" features ruins the community and drags down the pop numbers. The saving grace of DCUO is they do keep up with current content and have a lot to offer but the pay wall has to be minimized to a fault.
I love this game cause it’s DC even if it is dated but the devs ABSOLUTELY NEED to decide if they are gonna keep DCUO alive or give us DCUO 2 they can’t keep milking mediocre dlc and hoping the DC loyal fans stay cause they’ll end up leaving too I just hate to see good games with loads of potential to die out especially when it’s actually fun
Population just means people exist in the game but doesn't mean they're actually playing. DCUO has always been the worst game when it came to queuing up for missions. I have yet to see a game with such a huge population and poor active playing activity. The crazy part is, there are literal mission that you cannot get into unless you have a League of people that will que anything you say on command. Otherwise, you will not get to play most of the missions in DCUO.
And here i am again xD feels like i always say the same and its probably true but i cant say it often enough bcs i dont want this game to die i played it since i was like 9 orso i startet with the Beta i went through all stages The best the worse and the middle. Normaly ppl think its the whole game talking about Problems like for example WOW there are muiltiple forums talking about stuff they dont like, but when they say all the players want that they mean the like 400forum members they are constantly crying about the same shit. In DC its different we´ve been telling them/ almost shout at them to do something either Graphics / New power / New Abilitys in Existent powers like Fire, Ice, Nature ... but they dont give us anything new, I mean omnibus is a cool example i like it but i dont want to get Stats Clamped by them i want to use my Skill points i mean im on like 700+ skillpoints since idk 1-1.5years i dont feel like i have them to make me stronger they just there i mean i Can also run with my alt char with like 400-500sp and do the same dmg the only thing i need are artifacs and thats also a Problem we dont want more things to spend money on we want things we are rly enjoying. I mean dont get me wrong i love this game and i´ll keep playing it but they need to finally listen to us and give us new shit. its starts to look bad rn
Well said. Although there are maximum of 20-30 people on forums who are actually active and around 10-20 testers. Just a small correction in your comment. 😊
@@iEddyGaming yeah true thats for DC, but i meant the overall situation in wow there are multiple grp of different problems and in DC there is just one big grp thats saying the same stuff all the time and they(DC Devs) dont care :D well hope they fix it keep on with these vids!
Devs ain't helping the cause. Sure ideas are there & I give them credit for that. But the execution.. They definitely need a "gamer" point of view. And I'm talking about simple sh!t. Example: new OnDuty Ui where is my multi-Q.. Like, I would Q for a lpve & omni.. omni pop, I run it, zone out & I would still be in Q for my lpve ! wth happen to that genius idea Cross faction Q, they done it in STO & it's brilliant! Don't even have to group for it either. If my explanation is unclear ask *Dack Man gaming* because he play STO.. BTW unusal vid, but good one 👍
I would love to see dcuo get better but there are too many better MMOs out there like Wow or FF14. I hope dcuo sees better days ahead but right now it's not even close to the mediocre MMOs.
I play because I am completely free to go where I want, do what I want and wear what I want ( within the limited scope of female outfits that actually rock). $16/ mo. Isn't that bad for the ability to be social or not while being Strawberry Shortcake and carrying shiny pistols. 🤘 Great video, Thank you for sharing. 👋
I played this game way back and quit after they introduced Quantum powers. I recently came back to see that Earth, Electric, and Light power are STILL locked behind a paywall. No new weapons added either. This game is soooooo dead too. Especially on the Switch. I think they should just kill it off already. It's sad to see where the game is at.
The spams are killing it. Everyone spams everything in the first week or two then have no reason to come back. I told one guy in our league that and he said he didn’t care. If people like the game then they’ll log on to do daily stuff. They need to scale the spams, not gone altogether but maybe put a max number on things you can do.
On Xbox it's really bad especially if you play Vill there are 4-5 active leagues that actually make content and it gets less every week .... there is also a bug that you can't enjoy the game on a series because the game crashes 9-10 times a day. what drugs do the devs take ? I would like to know because if I need a loss of reality it would be helpful
@@jmg4208 yes that would help or just throw this Hero vs Vill theme aside and make it possible that we could all be together in a group and even league ..... otherwise this new social hub HoL makes no sense
Yup it's everywhere I have Android but I use Xbox one apk I can play FORTNITE free 60 fps but this game I can't play it even though it's free it says I have to download 61 GB but I'm on Android how the hell can I play like that I'm broke right now
Honestly just move to pc/psn NA servers. When an mmo has low player population the best experience your going to get is usually on the biggest server. Look at pretty much any classic wow reboot server and a couple months after launch the only people finding groups is the meta server everyone goes to because its the biggest. I know it sucks for eu / xbox / and switch servers but if they cant make everything crossplay between all servers then they are doing you an injustice asking you to pay money to play there.
I have a question I'm kinda new to DCUO I'm level 30 and stuff but when I go to the broker I cant add a item it just says more info when i click it it wants me to buy a membership is that normal do i have to buy a membership to use the broker?
They need to completely overhaul the skill point system. Not only is it a huge wall keeping out new players or old players who might want to pick the game back up, but alot of the feats are just dumb. Dcuo has become so morbidly obese with bloatware just so a dev can say "hey look there is tons of stuff to do!!!" Nevermind that no one wants to do it. You want to know how WoW had 11million paying subscriptions each month? They made shit people actually wanted to play rather than shit people have to play. The graphical update would be cool, but its so far past being enough for me to give a crap about this game again..... Now the 200 or so SP's locked behind ridiculous hoops to be jumped through or in old content that is for all intents and purposes DEAD that might catch my attention.
Yup that's all they have to do listen to the people where the ones who pay money u want my money ok but make better stuff at least 1 pick any power free like rege rock ECT....
My main is hero but I have a villain alt, so I form group on hero side, go in the raid, switch to villain haha. Otherwise, it takes hoursss to get a group on villain side. And I'm not even talking about ques, talking about forming a group from LFG lol it's bad.
Daybreak has made bad decisions with DCUO since they changed from SOE. The elimination of marks of triumph made millions of players leave. The bugs and glitches are not fixed unless the community votes on it on the forums. If players take advantage of bugs and glitches daybreak will not fix them with a patch. Instead they will blame players and ban the accounts from DCUO knowing the numbers are low as it is. The forums also warned daybreak on the massive division of DCUO players when the stat clamp was introduced. Not only did a large numbers of players leave the game because of the stat clamp but it also made feats completely dead unless you are LFG to do them. Some players have stopped using the shout system to communicate because daybreak never found a way to ban annoying cash selling spam accounts. They are so busy trying to find ways to monetize the game with cosmetics. They forgot what happened to gazillion and marvel heroes omega. Marvel and disney merged and took away the licence and rights to use marvel characters ending the game. James Gunn and WB can walk into daybreak to strip the licence and the rights away from using any DC characters in the game because of the DCU reboot. The reality of DCUO is no matter if daybreak releases 1000 episodes and tons of content in the game they would never recover or gain the million of players back. Having lost key important employees sends a clear message. DCUO is not dying but WB/Gunn/DC have the power to cancel plans (Cavill) and pull the plug at any given moment.
If that was a city of titans clip lol dcuo needs to do a calab with them and we would get the graphics update and that other game would get finished a two for one ☝️ No ?
Yeah that was city of titans. Its made on Unreal Engine 4. But it is still at very very base, pre-alpha stage. And it's made by gamers who played City of Heroes for years. I doubt Daybreak or Dimensional Ink will invest in something that small. 🤔
@@iEddyGaming oh I thought it was bigger that sucks those graphics is all we need and maybe. New powerset not new episodes and touch pvp and give it its due update this is what the community wants and been wanting for years
People aren't playing due to the unbalance between the PC and PSN, and the Primadonna mentality of certain players especially on the villain side, I have the luxury of having max SP, and my two helper toons are 750sp at the lowest so it doesn't bother me but I see many talented players not invited to the reindeer games because they aren't in the click, I've played with you and some of those people in those groups are garbage players with money and buddies, so I go out of the way to help those who don't get your love. Change the mentality, pull everyone up, block the bots, stop the exploitation of certain instances, and we would see a definitive change on the PSN and PC cross play, X-Box and Switch I have no knowledge of their community so no worthy opinion.
@@iEddyGaming It's been awhile I tend to record my runs and capture highlights, but if I recall correctly, it was on my Hero but it could have been in a group with Antigravity or Carolina.

I love DCUO and I want to give my opinion about some things in the game that maybe some players don't say, let's go by topics. 1st DCUO needs old players more than new ones to stay alive, it all started with artifacts and PvP (in my opinion). 2° Less progressive feats and more feats with mechs and challenges, we want to show that the game is not just about being beautiful, filling the game with feats that make us stronger, MORE FEATSS. 3° Make artifacts easy and common to get like CR, augments and allies, no one can stand to see people thinking they are already the best just for having "200 arts" or waiting months to have 1 artifact at 200, as if it were something unusual, it seems the game focused on them, FOCUS ON THE SKILL POINTS PLEASE. 4° Please make PvP fun, with faster battles, more accessible, easier and more attractive, revive PvP we want PvP back (same for pvp/pve legends) make the game less boring and tiring, we want to laugh. 5° make the game easier to understand, there are so many players who don't know anything about the game with high Cr. 6° Make the game easier for foreigners to understand, not everyone speaks English. 7° Follow examples of other successful games and there are many people playing every day, seriously I want to make friends in the game and less toxic top players who think they own the game. 8° The graphics are perfect to be honest I don't care about that, but make the game faster and with less bugs. 9° Why is the game not publicized, not invested in social networks, why isn't a game like this known by everyone? DCUO is amazing everyone needs to play it before some competitor comes along and does it. 10° There is more information about the game on the internet than in the game itself... at least tell me where to find the information... make partnerships. 11° STOP putting items that will never come back, let it be hard to get and that only strong players can do it, but don't put something that will NEVER come back... it's boring to see someone using or having something you wanted to have. 12° the game needs to be more fun, and I find it strange that players are ashamed to turn on the microphone... seriously, dc players are toxic because they think they are the best and don't need anyone... that's why no one wants to turn on the microphone, they will be mocked. 13° if dc needs money to be a better game, then dc needs more players and I think all this would bring more players (a better and more fun tutorial would also help, so many players giving up playing because they find the game complicated). 14° STOP invalidating names... let us be iconic. 15th watchtower, hall of doom, gotham and metropolis, these places need utility, these places are the beginning of the game for new players and they find it empty?! obviously they won't want to play, they want a crowded place 16° villains need to group with heroes... seriously you can't be a villain lol 17° make the leagues more useful, so they are more crowded, it would be nice to have less leagues and more players united. 18° old content is empty, because players think they don't need feats. 19° Give some bonus to those who help their friend to get feats... you can't keep helping your friend to farm feats if you won't get anything in return, especially if you already have everything. 20° The more items to get, the longer the players stayed in the game. 21° If you want money, have more players playing, all this will help you to have more money to invest in the game and have a better team, sorry for my English I'm not native, but I want this game alive. 22° Make sure there is a PC/XBOX, PC/NITENDO server!!
I love this game it was something special in its glory days there were tons of ppl with pvp everywhere it was so fun they even made some tv spots trailers when they had a german tv channel colab with dcuo soe time but after soe left this game was not the same anymore I returned to the game 4 years before and played actively since than but the direction the game goes nowadays is not good maybe they really should redo this game or a sequel the concept of the game is worth remaking it with a new engine new mechanics new graphics but what about ppl who spend alot money and time into this game if they shut the servers down I dont think a graphic update alone can rescue this game
for the first time in any video ive watched, i think youre wrong/off a bit. there are more than just 2.4k or even 3.5k players on this game. im on this game everyday and the HoL is always got 5 phases and almost pretty much full and kahndaq is decently populated but obv only when weekly resets because who wants to do dailies everyday aha. think about it. 700 average on steam, probably at least another 50 or so using the actual launcher because i know i do bc steam is ass. its on both old and new gen consoles. were getting players from ps4, ps5, xbox one, xbox s, pc (both steam and actual game launcher), and switch. new players are coming in every day. i have friends that are just getting into it. i hear ppl tell me they find this game recommended to them in the ps and xbox stores as soon as they open it. even just 7 months ago theres a vid with over 1 million views showing this game in 2022 which definitely brought some attraction. so id say for the sake of old and new gen consoles, that combined is at least 4k players. then everyone loves switch not to mention dc shit. i would guarantee theres at least another 200 players on that if not more. id say theres at least 5k players on dcuo.
I hear what you are saying, but please note, as I mentioned in the video, the numbers are an estimate. There is no way of knowing the actual number without getting the spreadsheets from the studio, you know. haha But the point of the video wasn't the accuracy of the number but to show even 5k for a daily population in an mmo is low. ;)
Hey eddy Do you know how I can make my Quislet appear? because I have him at level 79 and for some reason he is not appearing when I am in combat(I’m new to this game btw)
Ppl take it way to seriously and try to hard to be the strongest at a style based game now if it was Elder scrolls or WOW ok that makes sense but dcuo? 🤣 come on

This game needs the FFXIV treatment. A complete relaunch+overhaul on a brand new, modern day engine with detailed, in depth story writing, etc.
Yep. Agreed. Make it like a true MMO.
I’ll be happy to preorder that. I want to get back into this but I have no clue if it’s worth it.
@@BeerBreath702 It depends what you're looking for in an MMO.
I thought about some things recently:
1) change the cr-downscaling.
I love this idea, especially the first which is something I said when they brought back the cr downscaling
Also the ability to get the rare materials we have on our main transfered with replay badges to our alts
@@felorivera1054 The material part should be in the game for a long time we can get auras but not rare materials for alts is not making much sense im not going to farm another year just to get the same material on another character
1&2 especially I think bringing back pvp will help make this really fun I miss it
I wouldn't revamp pvp. Just bring back old school pvp.
I don't want to see this game die, but the devs care so little about it that I feel like we'll get to it sooner rather than later.
Facts bro
And I still stand by my words that even though that marvel mmo looked hella goofy, it would have had more players than dcuo. You telling me I could have chose to be either X-men, avengers or someshit, AND it’d be on a current gen game engine?? Yeah nah, everybody would have hopped ship
i love this game , wish there was more people tho
DC is a very casual game, you can farm your stuff, get full elite do the feats of that DLC and don't log until new DLC
I suppose they need to find a way to give us a reason to play the game more often that isn't forced and it feels very worth it and fun
Marvel could easily top this game because DCUO is an antiquated pay 2 win fest.
And that's from a person that's been playing since launch.
@@BaithNasquare Enix avengers is proof enough that marvel can't.
They should let us have our alts as backups as a theme we get to chose which 3 backups we want as those backups, take away the cr stat clamping already, leveling up getting stronger should be a reward not a punishment when going back to older content, at least have an option for it
Like create your own allies? Kinda like Champions Online how you can make your own nemesis? I wish.
I hope this game never dies
The one thing about steam numbers is that people don't tend to play MMOs(especially older MMOs) on the steam platform. Just as an example EQ's average players on steam is just below 300 and we know for sure a ton more people play than that. Its actually more likely that double the amount of players for DCUO play on the native platform, which is probably how MMO population got their number. I just started the game 2 weeks ago and I'm really loving it. Your videos have been super helpful so thank you!
this game has had to combine pc and playstation servers and the population is still low. they had to combine vill and hero chats even.
Heard great things about GW2.
They should make a dcuo 2 just like what destiny did in the past.
Only way to really bring back players
I dont see them investing the money to do that, people always said, Make DCUO 2, port to UE 5, like those things were easy.
The only way we see DCUO2 is if this game dies and that probably wont happen until a new super hero MMO is released.
City of heroes / city of villains is the best superhero mmo I ever played, can play on PC only tho.
playstation numbers would be thier highest playerbase and then behind that would be PC direct then steam or xbox then nintendo
People wanting this and wanting that, yeah me too, but they got no devs… ain’t nobody wanna work for them
You need to wonder why they did not listen to the comunity for years and now they cant find any devs it will be really hard to find some
Daybreak being secretive is very weird.
This should show players daybreak doesn't care about the episode content, all they care about is milking as much money from players as possible while doing as little as possible when it comes to development for the rest of the game.
i mean the same can be said about Rockstar and GTA Online but ppl defend that game like its made by Christ himself
It’s hard but it would be great if they crossed all servers tbf
100% That would be make EU player's lives much easier. Xbox and PS/PC can't merge because of Xbox and PS having licensing issues + they like to fight alot 😂
Honestly, I'm not surprised to see DCUO's player base dwindling, especially when they changed their tune on the issue of those Brainiac bottles cluttering a significant chunk of the overworld. The promise to eventually unbottle iconic locations like the Daily Planet seemed like a distant dream, and eventually Mepps and others outright changed their promise from 'one day' to 'We can't.'
The shift towards instance-style maps at the expense of the immersive open-world experience felt like a betrayal of what drew many players to the game in the first place.
They just need to merge the villains and heroes. We ready run content together
@Zenphon 100
Yea they really should
@Zenphon 100 not really that’s not a big upgrade
This game feels like a chore more than a game. I played dc for the first time back in 2012. 2012-2016 were the prime years, from there, it slowly went down hill. I miss when the devs actually interacted with the community. This game can be saved by
1. Merging all platforms together on one server
2. Refurbishing all style items in a mass update rather than in a cash grab TC.
3. Get rid of stat clamping in PvE content as well as PvP
4. Release PVP content when new PvE content releases
😭 talking from the switch server crying that it "shouldn't exist" lmao. I started with a few friends of mine so we could climb the ranks on our own :)
Damn all time peak on steam was 17,701. 11 years ago. Wow
When SP mattered bc PVP was fun. Almost everything made sense until greed pulled up
Artifacts killed it.
They'll have to beg me like dogs and then I'll drop some very tried and truel suggestions 🤣😆
But let's be honest, the game is going to die because no one will take this post seriously lol. Oh well.
I'm a of DCUO can for life I'll play this for ever till I become the strongest tank DPS ECT....
if marvel finds a way to copy and paste this game for the marvel universe its all over
shame too bc if they devs got off there asses and implemented some actual good changes, it could revive the gamebase. I for one would come back if they added new players and actually cared about balance/future content :(
They don’t have devs to fix it. Hell they don’t even have a Creative director
I play on and off over the years, but one thing that has never changed is the annoying ass kids in the chat.
Lil Bo, WT, HOl, & HOD are the 4 pub spots where 80% or our population just chills at.
If they implement crossave then I'll get back on
And here i am again xD feels like i always say the same and its probably true but i cant say it often enough bcs i dont want this game to die i played it since i was like 9 orso i startet with the Beta i went through all stages The best the worse and the middle.

Dialysis hahahah
You also dont count thd fact that the devs play the game themselfs. There about 50-100 of them
What population???
I hope the game doesn't get shut down.
☝ definitely, I feel bad for the the villain side. They need to create a cross faction Q like in STO it would be very helpful.
@@jmg4208 yes that would help or just throw this Hero vs Vill theme aside and make it possible that we could all be together in a group and even league ..... otherwise this new social hub HoL makes no sense

Hi! Sadly, yes.
Actually it be less because PC, Steam and PS are cross server
How about on Xbox because I play on Xbox one s and and I see a lot of ppl everytime
I did add the xbox numbers in the video. Though compared to PS/PS server, xbox population isn't that much.
Yup that's all they have to do listen to the people where the ones who pay money u want my money ok but make better stuff at least 1 pick any power free like rege rock ECT....
2452 I'm lucky I'm one of those people lucky
if devs aren't active why should we be? no real reason to log on at this point once you're maxed
I log in to mess around with friends and help league mates get feats. 🤷🏻
I don’t understand why devs go the pay to win route.. I’ve yet to see a game with that type of system succeed and work well.
Hope the games dosen't die like marvel heroes that sucked
i cant get any runs on villains on alerts or raids that are villain no sui squads :| its annoying as a new player
My main is hero but I have a villain alt, so I form group on hero side, go in the raid, switch to villain haha. Otherwise, it takes hoursss to get a group on villain side. And I'm not even talking about ques, talking about forming a group from LFG lol it's bad.
@@iEddyGaming they should just make suicide squad a thing on all XD
Bro DCUO is on switch? Imagine if they fixed this game… omg they’d need better and more servers
Might or Precision in 2023 ?
Precision still beats might but I would suggest to play what you enjoy! Don't worry about the scorecard. =)
@@iEddyGaming I like precision, but currently I don't have many SP points, that's why I'm Might
:)
artifacts, and time capsules having feats locked behind them was the downfall of DCUO
Why haven’t we all boycotted yet this game is actually ass
This game pay to win af. Only reason I won’t play they remove that stupid artifact shit and I’ll play
We have played together? 🤔
@@iEddyGaming It's been awhile I tend to record my runs and capture highlights, but if I recall correctly, it was on my Hero but it could have been in a group with Antigravity or Carolina.
Whats your ingame name bro? Yup must be hero side, I haven't ran with Caroline in over 6 years 😂
@@iEddyGaming My hero is Ausar, two of my helper toons on the Villain's side is EnSaBah Nur and Ayame Blu, Carolina is PC I don't recall her alts, hech I have five myself to include my main.I only play four toons now not enough time in the day.
15th watchtower, hall of doom, gotham and metropolis, these places need utility, these places are the beginning of the game for new players and they find it empty?! obviously they won't want to play, they want a crowded place
16° villains need to group with heroes... seriously you can't be a villain lol
17° make the leagues more useful, so they are more crowded, it would be nice to have less leagues and more players united.
I will post this on the forums
I love this game it was something special in its glory days there were tons of ppl with pvp everywhere it was so fun they even made some tv spots trailers when they had a german tv channel colab with dcuo soe time but after soe left this game was not the same anymore I returned to the game 4 years before and played actively since than but the direction the game goes nowadays is not good maybe they really should redo this game or a sequel the concept of the game is worth remaking it with a new engine new mechanics new graphics but what about ppl who spend alot money and time into this game if they shut the servers down I dont think a graphic update alone can rescue this game
I feel like your Xbox numbers are way off.
for the first time in any video ive watched, i think youre wrong/off a bit. there are more than just 2.4k or even 3.5k players on this game. im on this game everyday and the HoL is always got 5 phases and almost pretty much full and kahndaq is decently populated but obv only when weekly resets because who wants to do dailies everyday aha. think about it.
There is no way of knowing the actual number without getting the spreadsheets from the studio, you know. haha But the point of the video wasn't the accuracy of the number but to show even 5k for a daily population in an mmo is low. ;)
Does not look good at all .. I should become a dev 🤣
I play dc for the styles nothing more 🤣 I mean that’s the main purpose of the game really styles
Make the game less p2w and you’ll have more players lol
Cjampions online
Switch is dead 😩
Yes, sadly. I have only heard bad things about DCUO's population on Switch.
It's bad! Remove stat clamp!
Agreed. Join forum and start a thread and upvote other threads who share your opinion. 😉
I will
SHUT IT DOWN
Hey eddy Do you know how I can make my Quislet appear? because I have him at level 79 and for some reason he is not appearing when I am in combat(I’m new to this game btw)
Hey man! Gotta level him up a little more for him to appear and start fighting by your side. And also make sure you have it equipped.
@@iEddyGaming ok thanks 🙏
Ppl take it way to seriously and try to hard to be the strongest at a style based game now if it was Elder scrolls or WOW ok that makes sense but dcuo? 🤣 come on
