I've followed Bowie since I was 16 and I'm 64 now. I've seen him in concert many, many times. The first experience being in the tenth row of the Tower Theater in Philly! Bowie would, in his inimitable style, be polite about this -- but your voice lacks his power, strength and command and bears no relationship to "Let's Dance" (which I saw live) or any other Bowie music. Your band mates are very good, your guitar is great, the start of the song has a lot going for it and then, well, nothing. Bowie was, and will forever be, a multi-talented genius beyond compare. As someone with perfect pitch who studied piano and sang publicly for over 7 years (other pursuits intervened) and recognized Bowie's genius at age 16, I think I have something authentic to contribute here. Thanks for reading and considering what I have to say. It is heartfelt.
Firstly, this was great! But I agree with others that listening to it at .75x sounded more 'Bowie'. Maybe not quite that slow, but almost. You all kept true to the song though, you sacrificed very, very little to accommodate the change in style. Excellent, dudes!
Just discovering this Sandman in Bowie style today, 2nd of October 2024, five years later, such a great interpretation. Then the artist (and friends) has even grow so much more in those years. Great work!
This is truly a remarkable take on Bowie. He voice was so distinctive, and so iconic. Your vocals aren't a caricature or a parody but rather a heartfelt channeling of Bowie's sound and essence.
Thank you for this! I'm sure Metallica and Bowie would be proud of this rendition! Enter Starman is absolutely beautiful to listen! Almost sounds like a bit of Let's Dance.
Frank Schalk - my favorite Doors track. He should definitely do that one. I'm a musician myself and I use to perform a remix/cover of '5 to 1' It was cool. I'm hip hop and beat oriented, so I added a lot of heavy bass and a nice phat drum track as well. We would chop up the chorus and certain solos they did throughout th song. We added a few things, remixed it, and covered it. I would sing Jim's parts and then I would make a section for a verse and my band mate would do his rapping on that part. I thought it was pretty creative. Never heard of anyone doing it like that before. We only ever did it live so sadly there aren't any recordings of it :(
As a fellow musician, I can appreciate the immense amount of planning and work that went into this. Great job! So glad RUclips put you in my recommendations.
I've been a huge Bowie fan since the 1970's and I find this very impressive. I especially love how you blended several aspects of Bowie's career into this cover. I can hear the Let's dance era, but I can also hear earlier stuff, and later! This is very good! As a side note: that is great guitar work!!
@@fuzer909 Awesome! I have the vinyl too and I really like it. Also, Bowie's done countless covers on other albums, but I guess Pin-Ups is the best place to start.
This made me smile so big. I enjoy the original Metallica song a lot but I also have always loved the "Let's Dance!" song by David Bowie. This was a great mash up of the original song with the Bowie style!
The way you sing it's almost like you've had some sort of theatrical and maybe even some opera training. I love these videos and it's amazing how natural the songs sound. Keep it up.

IMPRESSIVE!! Now take a Bowie song and sing like Metallica.
Metallica with Cliff yes, Metallica after Cliff just forget it they suck.
@@eLJaybud Wow, you're the first person I've heard say that.
@@eLJaybud Metallica, isn't that the Iron Maiden coverband?
@@Starscreamious 😂😂😂😂
Thats a Job for Leo
Really hits when the horns kicks in. The vocals are magnifique.
That was fucking exquisite. It's both the best Metallica and the best Bowie cover I've heard in 30 years.
I can only imagine the time it takes to do the arrangement and the the recording! Please don’t get burned out.
I like David Bowie. I like Metallica. Mix them together and get Metallibowie. You guys all sound great together. That's a really good video.
Bowtelica
David "Metallic" Bowie, as Bowies are also a type of knife!
Bowietallica
Firstly, this was great! But I agree with others that listening to it at .75x sounded more 'Bowie'. Maybe not quite that slow, but almost.
You all kept true to the song though, you sacrificed very, very little to accommodate the change in style.
Excellent, dudes!
you know you can custom the speed right?
0.9 works the best for me
@@morianomordekhai how?
on the playback speed, there is a custom option, but it only appears on PC it seems.
@@morianomordekhai .85
Slowed it down, and you were right
This is so f**king tight ! Props to all concerned, great performances to put it mildly.
A fitting tribute to our icon - You aced this! Not many people could have. Thank you R.I.P David
I can hear hints of LET'S DANCE with in the song... pretty cool
THIS IS AMAZING.
never heard of this channel before, just popped up on recommended channels. effing amazing work all!!!!!!! so authentic!
Yeah, just popped up on mine too. RUclips got it right this time! SUBSCRIBING ♡
Mine, too! But I listen to a lot of weird music, so I wasn't surprised.
Just discovering this Sandman in Bowie style today, 2nd of October 2024, five years later, such a great interpretation. Then the artist (and friends) has even grow so much more in those years. Great work!
The algorithm works in mysterious ways.
This is absolutely amazing
Great work replicating the "Let's Dance" era. You and the other musicians definitely deserve a lot of credit for this 😁
This was actually killer. I wasn't expecting that. Hopefully you put this on Spotify or something. Lol.
Not exaggerating the first chorus gave me goosebumps, loved the sexy sax, keep up the great work and amazing cover!
This is truly a remarkable take on Bowie. He voice was so distinctive, and so iconic. Your vocals aren't a caricature or a parody but rather a heartfelt channeling of Bowie's sound and essence.
This is amazing. AMAZING!!!
It almost makes the real enter sandman seem like a cover lol
Headcanon: David Bowie created every song and we’re just covering them
true
@@kanalithviper4744 except man who sold the world. Definitely a nirvana song.
@@stickytim64 ...I see what you did there :P
Thank you for this! I'm sure Metallica and Bowie would be proud of this rendition! Enter Starman is absolutely beautiful to listen! Almost sounds like a bit of Let's Dance.
Very rare I watch a whole video like this. It's so great when one can hold my attention and have me check out the creators other videos. Kudos.
I’m dying to hear a Doors cover done in the “Mother” era Danzig. 5 to 1 comes to mind. Can you do this?
Holy shit, yes!
That would pretty much sound the same
Yes... SO much yes!!!!!!
Oriental Studios even though I’m kinda tired of that song, it would still sound amazing covered by Danzig
Frank Schalk - my favorite Doors track. He should definitely do that one.
I'm a musician myself and I use to perform a remix/cover of '5 to 1'
It was cool.
Oh damn!! I got chills listening to this!!! I will never listen to the original version again without hearing this in my head!! Awesome job guys!!
Simply fantastic. This should be on the "Lost Highway" soundtrack.
I've been a huge Bowie fan since the 1970's and I find this very impressive. I especially love how you blended several aspects of Bowie's career into this cover. I can hear the Let's dance era, but I can also hear earlier stuff, and later! This is very good!
As a side note: that is great guitar work!!
Wow, amazing. Everyone playing on this track did a great job!
David Bowie needed to live longer for this world. Imagine him doing a covers album.
fuzer909 Bowie has an album called Pin-Ups which came out in 1973 and is in fact a cover album.
@@aidan9674 Guess I know what vinyl I'm hunting for next, thanks
@@fuzer909 Awesome! I have the vinyl too and I really like it. Also, Bowie's done countless covers on other albums, but I guess Pin-Ups is the best place to start.
Man in The Radiator Tonight is terrible though
Lots of good stuff on "Pin-Ups", but "Sorrow" is my fave.
Keep it up.
