@god I am talking ABOUT YOU asserting that it is a good weld based on Standing on it. A metric that is not a Industry Standard. A cross section would be a good indication as the OP suppgested
hello Mr. Hagojibi My name is Thanh, nice to meet you, i could like to ask you a question, when you use laser welding to work , when you're tacking on plate do you change parameter to tack it or you keep the same parameter set up before to do that, sorry mr. my question is silly, because i could like to know how laser machine ? thankyou
Its a lot for the hobbyist. But is nothing for industry/commercial applications. The eliminated need to pickle and clean welds alone will offer an instant ROI enough to justift the cost of a system even triple this cost. And stainless steel fabricators not having to spend forever straightening distorted structures following TIG welding will only add to it's value of this technology. IN a few years laser will likely be the ONLY cost effective way to weld.

The settings used enable same weld speed rate for each example. really very nice and stainless/carbon steel same fill wire same result high quality easy set-up.
Which type stainless steel were you welding? I am interested is seeing 5mm 316L stainless steel being laser welded. Also, what was the size, feed rate for 5mm stainless plate and type of the stainless steel weld wire? Good demonstration.
I saw another video and they showed good penetration with all of the welds. It was a different machine , LIGHT WELDER it is a good machine but you pay for it.
Probably not needed since the laser and decompose O2 and vaporize any oxide layer although it is probably not as effective as one might guess. It is possible to weld without gas but of course generally is not quality. So these examples may be a bit poor.
@god Looks can be deceiving. Certain applications will not allow even the most minute of issues since it can be very dangerous(e.g., piping that is carrying explosive material).
@god I'm saying that they may not be as good as traditional. Stomping on them is not a scientific test. They could be rather superficial welds and there is no way to tell from a video of someone stomping on the welds. If they were still warm they could have flex in them enabling them to more easily bend over without snapping. Maybe they did snap in some places. The point is the video doesn't prove anything except that it does weld. There *could* be a lot of technical problems with the weld though. It would have been better, if they are trying to prove the quality, by using more scientific tests.
What beautiful machines and what delicate work can be done with them. It's a pity that here in Mexico such a machine costs the same as a Toyota Corolla, due to taxes and import duties.
This is what I found doing an online search. Price is about $10k - $15k depending upon laser power and manufacturer. Power requirement is 240vac connected to a 50 amp circuit similar to MIG, TIG & GMAW equipment. Max power draw is about 30 amps. Not mobile. The cabinet is about the same size as two small dormatory size refrigerators. Wire feeder is a separate unit about the same size as a MIG welder. Shielding gas is an added expense. Smaller wattage laser welders come with a smaller price tag and smaller physical size and smaller welding capabilities.
Probably not because too much heat would build up and then cause failure. Probably be expensive to cool it down fast enough to enable it. They already have 3D metal printing though using lasers and metal powder.
There is a reason why they don’t show you a cross section. That is not a fusion welding, that is a cold weld followed by a cold hardening, it will break.
You got the point it is bit suspicious video , i see a lot of limitation in this machine ..then the price is not effective considering the penetration limits . , i use pulse YAG welder on jewelry and on the white gold alloyed with nickel no matter how brain stressing different setups on machine the welds are brittle . hard to get penetration unless the small fraction of millimeter beam is set but if going to far with that it just simply blow deep holes and one have to fix it by feeling them ..sometime it is frustrating impatient action . It works great on high carat yellow golds , palladium alloyed white gold ( beside leaving porosity behind ..ha ha .. and absolutely great on platinum ... I use laser on jewelry for decades and can't imagine now to be in business without it this days . I use old school torch as well and laser mainly to talk parts together . ..about 50/50 both methods

"Oh? I Love the tool. It makes clean cuts, and the finest welding is marvelous."
We have TIG, MIG, MAG and MMA. So what will this method be called in the future?
LIGMA - Laser Inert Gas Mison/Argon
Nice. Now show us the test coupons and the pass/fail for each and the specks for all the various certs this unit is capable of.
А что с нагрузками?? Так то неплохо ... но не понятно есть провар метала или это просто плавка присадочного метала
How strong are the welds ? Can we see some cross sections to judge penetration?
And how much ?
@god posted before I watched it all. Schoolboy error , sorry god.
@god Standing on something is not a test method, I did not see a cross section either!
Standing on a weld is not something you would see in the pipeline industry to judge "IT WORKS"
@god I am talking ABOUT YOU asserting that it is a good weld based on Standing on it. A metric that is not a Industry Standard.
A cross section would be a good indication as the OP suppgested
@god "What more do you need?" was your statement.
Your reply was anecdotal at best: "He stood on it"

Hi, can you weld brass too?
$10,000 don’t think I will be getting one any time soon, amazing though

Just $10,000 for that huge machine and feeder? Are you sure? The Desktop sized Lightwave is $25,000 and I think it’s 1,500 watts.
Certainly its not a machine for the man in the street:-((

How is the arc shielded from oxygen?

No spatter removal either....Incredible

Will this cut titanium, and how thick?
Will this weld body panels on vehicles?

I need one of these, where can i buy it?
What shielding gas was used in this video ?
Laser welding machine, I like very much, where i can buy
Would be interested to see the comparitive weld penetation and distorsion values compared to TIG/MIG/ARC
I saw another video and they showed good penetration with all of the welds. It was a different machine , LIGHT WELDER it is a good machine but you pay for it.
Penatration Is Not Good As
Tig Welders.
Does the machine use a shielding gas feed ?
Probably not needed since the laser and decompose O2 and vaporize any oxide layer although it is probably not as effective as one might guess. It is possible to weld without gas but of course generally is not quality. So these examples may be a bit poor.
@god Looks can be deceiving. Certain applications will not allow even the most minute of issues since it can be very dangerous(e.g., piping that is carrying explosive material).
@god You clearly are not a professional welder. Standing on welds doesn't mean that they are quality. It doesn't mean that microfissures do not exist.
@god I'm saying that they may not be as good as traditional. Stomping on them is not a scientific test. You should have presets. Simply select the type of metal rather than having to enter in anything.
That would certainly be a big selling point while still allowing minor adjustments as needed. Metal type, metal thickness and bang, you're done!
Agree. Maybe thats coming in future updates. Manual/Auto mode
