A mid 70s ford 400 had a starter with a solenoid on the starter, along with the regular fender mounted solenoid. It used a special little bent metal piece from power to solenoid trigger. Used the fender mount for regular solenoid duties. Just had the large power cable down to starter. I kept one off a core starter.
Definitely love the word on the street podcast it’s good to see y’all sit down an talk about everything we all have questions about! Keep up the hard work!

Can`t wait to see the S10 rippin down the track again, you guys worked wonders with a stock S10, but the upgrades should create a real monster!!
Just a friendly FYI: -Yes, "Bullhorns" DO in fact create downforce on the front end. That's why people run them. It wasn't for looks. The more power the engine makes, the more down force..The more vertical they are, the more downforce. They can be angled back to to adjust it. It's another suspension tuning aid. -Yes, header tube size, primary diameter, length, and collector size diameter and length all matter. Every application, whether N/A, Blown, Nitrous or Turbo, requires something different. However with Turbo applications, it is the opposite of how you would normally size a header compared to other applications. Smaller headers induce air speed, which when combined with heat, exhaust lobe profile, piston speed, and many other variables, is what spins the turbo. BUT, just like any other application, size is determined by the combination and where it makes it's power. They can then be altered based on how soon or how late you need the boost. Optimally, they work hand in hand with turbo size for each application. That said, if you are unsure of what sizes to go with in a turbo application, it is safe to error on the smaller side. Boost pressure is glorified NA power, so however the tube size design affects an NA power curve, it will do the same with boost. -Turbos do not see exhaust pressure from all 4 tubes, or all 8 if a single, all at once. It sees pulses, and how each one scavenges the next is based on firing order and collector clocking. So the turbo housing doesn't have to be that big, especially since turbos do not spin based on exhaust pulse pressure alone. Heat is a major factor. Hence why turbo engines can get away with a smaller than header. -No, dented tubes do not hurt anything, to a point. Don't be confused with internet entertainment videos not telling the whole story. Very misleading. Especially since a bone stock engine doesn't require such large long tube headers to begin with, so smashing them halfway closed won't show an effect since the exhaust manifolds they are designed to run with are even smaller than that... -Yes, whichever way the rear points, or favors, will make the car go the opposite direction. Like a rear steer forklift. However, to say a small tire car doesn't need any rear steer isn't 100% accurate I'm afraid. Technically, no car SHOULD need it. In a perfect world. Since every car is built different, it's a tuning aid that EVERY car usually requires since most cars are not 100% perfect. I am of course talking minor adjustment. Excessive rear steer, or excessive adjustments usually mean something is wrong. Just have to find what each car likes. Hope this helps. On a side note, good luck with the podcast. Looks like it's coming along. Small headers on a turbo application is not as critical as having a big exhaust side. I ran a procharger on my BBC S-15 many years ago, and Tommy it was promodish. They are easy to tune, timing, and RPM. Mine was pulley driven which was nice could change blower speeds real easy. You guys are doing well, and I seen the new channel seems legit.

Glad this baby is coming together. Kinda glad you didn't go with the bed mounted turbos. I know there are dudes who make it work great but I think under the hood is best for this truck. Thanks for the podcast with Beater Bomb, I'm looking into one of those "air cooled" Comp turbos for my Z. Currently running a Precision Gen2 6870 but it does smoke a bit.

Exactly, the flange and the exhaust turbine are going to be a bigger restriction than any pair of "small" headers. 💯 A dent is definitely not gonna make any difference
Headers depend on combination like everything else. If it’s an engine that doesn’t make a lot of hp N/A and relies on lots of boost to make power a big header is going to hurt it but if you have even a sbc, sbf, ls etc that’s making 650hp+ and have stock cast headers it’s going to hurt it then. You will have to run more boost to make similar hp if you would have had the correct header for that setup. Love the channel. Keep up the great work guys.

It’s hilarious how Tommy’s getting Billy in his feelings Uncle Terry’s great uncle Rob‘s wiring is Sano ,I’m stoked Tommy got the falcon back Love y’all
Seatbelt Rob, also, I know several people who have had weight loss surgery because of genetic conditions that literally won’t allow them to lose weight. I hope someday you can get that going and hopefully that will extend your life. You are an awesome person Rob.
Just an idea Billy, what about mounting the coils to the front of the motor plate. As long as the don't get in the way of any accessory drive of the crank.
More manifold diameter takes longer to build pressure and force the turbine up the rpm range and gives slower velocity to the turbo which takes longer and more rpm to boost up.. Like billy said!!

I'm loving the vlog style videos, it's good to change it up once in a while like when your modding the truck or just wrenching great to see the progress. You Rock from Aus
looking good looking good , Absolutely right straight pipe after a Turbo , Back in the day we had all straight pipes on our Diesel engines , They pulled good and they sound good , and then they made a law where we had to put mufflers and then it restricted our Turbo and power , But what I done stuck a spark resistor muffler about 3 feet from the Turbo and I got away Claiming it was a muffler , Spark resistor was burned out with a 100 miles but it still had the muffler look
Great Video. Can’t wait to see the S-10 back. It’s going to be a beast. Rob is very good at what he does. Great asset bringing him on the team. All of you guys Rock. #SRCTTMFF
Probably don't have the view time like some but I'm subbed at the least to all. Your dad and the Gen 2 channel are the favorites but just like the S-10, can never forget about the OG.
You guys should do a podcast with rob. Get into his background and what got him into the car industry and all that. I don’t know about most people but I’d be super interested in his background. I feel like he kinda just showed up one day and not much history on him. But the dude knows his shit. And his quality and knowledge of work is amazing.
My suggestion would be to mount both turbos in the middle with the intakes facing forward toward the front of the grill. That leaves a lot of room for your piping and exhaust maybe a little more piping length but it allows for more forced air to the intakes. All that room and they still want to cram it in near the headers. They said that the radiator was going in the back.
Bruh Rob is a freaking straight up g man!! Screw what any hater is or will ever say!! Fuck that Bc there car is either on jackstands or non existent or runs 11’s in the 1/4 mile…Yall keep on keeping on man!!! Can’t wait to all the src cars back next season
Something to watch for ... having the turbo intakes at that angle will effect the flow the faster you go. Say 100 mph air coming thru the grill and hitting the intakes at those angles will unbalance the compressors. Ya might consider some intake fairings pointing more towards the front.
Eric Biles, we both were SRC fans before we met, and after should've made a YT channel of us viewing every episode. He's wherever he believed now, not in pain and one of the last coherent sentences was if I become an angel, it'll look over Ole MAN Tommy and billy boy...Rob too..fly high brother

I hope the starter works the way yall are planning. When i tried that with my gm starter, i still had to run the starter solenoid wire separately along with the main power because i was having issues with jumping the solenoid off the main power.

Rob is the man hope he's getting a slice of the pie because he's doing a incredible job
I'm loving the vlog style videos, it's good to change it up once in a while like when your modding the truck or just wrenching great to see the progress. You Rock from Aus
Love the podcast! S10 is looking killer, Tommy keep doing your thing. Killing it brother.
Congratulations on the new podcast channel. Watched the beater bomb show. Looked like he had a good time chatting with you guys. I enjoyed it too
👍🏽🇺🇸👍🏽 glad the S10 is getting the love.. the Falcon is one of my favorite cars.. love it
love the daily shop content, it to me is as much fun to watch all that goes into it and daily life as much as racing
looking good looking good , Absolutely right straight pipe after a Turbo , Back in the day we had all straight pipes on our Diesel engines , They pulled good and they sound good , and then they made a law where we had to put mufflers and then it restricted our Turbo and power , But what I done stuck a spark resistor muffler about 3 feet from the Turbo and I got away Claiming it was a muffler , Spark resistor was burned out with a 100 miles but it still had the muffler look
Word on the street is your dad has a hot rod now!! Enjoyed the video as always! God bless yall!!
We all like to see the progress as much as you can get out.
Loved the podcast
🤣🤣🤣Loved the BILL NYE THE SCINCE GUY reference from big rob. he was a very good educator back in his day
Great Video. Can’t wait to see the S-10 back. It’s going to be a beast. Rob is very good at what he does. Great asset bringing him on the team. All of you guys Rock. #SRCTTMFF
I have reported this fake SRC channel that's in your comment hopefully this will also run it away
Is so nice to see you guys having fun and goofing off
23:53 Tommy’s laugh is turning into his dads😂
Love the new channel great idea for you guys can't wait to see who gets on there
Bruh Rob is a freaking straight up g man!! Screw what any hater is or will ever say!! Fuck that Bc there car is either on jackstands or non existent or runs 11’s in the 1/4 mile…Yall keep on keeping on man!!! Can’t wait to all the src cars back next season
a venturi. the air spin. I have always used an air Dynafile with scotch bright belts for polishing tube. Pretty cheap and easy way to do it.
I work on 6.7 ford power stroke diesels all the time and they shove all 4 cylinders through about a 1” 1/2 pipe and they run pretty good
Three points of contact, for stability. Looks good!👍🤙👍🤙
Sweet. I get a SRC video on my birthday. Best birthday ever
16:17 Uncle Terry don't take NO shit from Uncle Rob! He be like "you must have me mistaken for Mark down at A1. I don't play like that."
Word on the streets is that Tommy's bicycle is a Pro Mod, especially with the training wheels!!!! Lol 😆
Good stuff.
Love the Pro Mod build on the truck. 😅
Get that old bracket racer on your podcast to tell stories with or about the old man.
Cool stuff guys.
As an old guy I enjoy watching you guys when I am in the shop do old guy stuff.
I hope the starter works the way yall are planning. When i tried that with my gm starter, i still had to run the starter solenoid wire separately along with the main power because i was having issues with jumping the solenoid off the main power.
Mine also dragged for s couple seconds after starting .
Fun video guys! S10 is coming together and it will be wicked fast.
Coming right along. S10 is going to be badass
The Science guy was before my time. We grew up during the Mr. Rogers age. My father wouldn't let me watch it (Thankfully) LOL We did get to stay up late on Friday nights for Dukes of Hazard!!!!!! 😆
