I had this video for this album. Ricky would be in the studio introducing the song first and tell how he came up with it. Throw back. I have to pull this vhs out and make it a DVD
Min. Ricky Dillard is one of the last greatest Choir Masters alive today! We thank God for his obedience to God! There's nothing like 80's and 90's gospel.... It had a message, biblical based, and is anointed! Not sure what direction gospel music has taken today. I watched Bobby Jones and other labels destroy gospel music, making it focus more on theatrics, a show, and money! It since has evolved into a business driven genre instead of God first driven! Limited in mentioning Jesus name and speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance to ensure the music can cross genres for more money while watering down the Word of GOD through gospel! Most new artist have a voice and the music but their lyrics lack the biblical messaging-foundation and the free flow of the anointing, unrestricted! God will judge Bobby Jones, those artist who submitted to the money and those labels who tainted gospel music! Mammom is the demon of money! That's who they chose to serve, self gain!
LOLOL The ppl in the FRONT ROW of the adudience was feeling this JANKT!!! LOL look at the Lady @ 1:40 She aint now what they was saying but She was Goin IN on that AAAAAYYVVE part...lol If I remember Correctly from reading the credits when I was younger, this Song was actually Written By Donald Lawrence... SOUNDS JUST LIKE HIM!!!!! smh
:) Verse: Do you really know Him, do you really know His name? I wonder do you know Him, that His love remains the same. Do you know about the souls He saved, healed the sick and He raised the dead? Do you know about the price He paid, sacrificed so I that I might be saved? Chorus: To know Him is to love Him, hallelujah, He is the Good Shepherd. Bridge: Always making a way out of no way, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want He makes me to rest in the meadow's grass, He's my shepherd. Chorus Vamp 1: Tenors: Yea, I know Him, He's a mighty Good Shepherd. Yea, I know Him, He's a mighty Good Shepherd. Altos: I've come to know that He's a Good Shepherd. I've come to know that He's a Good Shepherd. Sopranos 1: He is a Good Shepherd. He is a Good Shepherd. Sopranos 2: To know Him is to love Him. I know Him and I love Him. Vamp 2: To know Him is to love Him, I know Him, He's a mighty Good Shepherd. Vamp 3: To know Him is to love Him, I know Him and I love Him. Ending: To know Him is to love Him, hallelujah, He is the Good Shepherd.
Does it really matter if you're saved any more or do people just want to act like their at the club and sale CD's. IMHO, this music has very little substance. It's just a jazzy funk groove and a bunch of people show casing their vocal talents. There really is a God, a devil, a Heaven, and a hell.
So music that is glorifying God isn't allowed to have a jazzy funk to it? People are not allowed to dance for joy knowing that the Lord Jesus is a good Shepherd? I don't see anything wrong in this video. IMHO, you're just reading into it too much, I mean we like what we like, but I think it has good substance. You don't know if people can be blessed or even saved by a jazzy song about Jesus. I see no one glorifying the devil in this video whatsoever. It isn't a sin to dance (I recall David dancing), have groove or show vocal talent which God has bestowed upon these singers. God made music anyway. It's truly about the message, an it's a pretty darn good message if you ask me.
I can imagine rehearsals be off the chain and don't nobody want to go home!!!
This song never gets old!
I love this song, the tenors give me O'landa Draper & Associates style!!! Love it!!
Yaassss! I sang this in college. Graduated in '95. This still rocks and can be sung today!
