Tessa Thompson (the Valkyrie...I'm still pissed that they never gave her a real name.) ,Anthony Hopkins, Luke Hemsworth ( Stage acting Thor) are all in the show WESTWORLD together. Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Samuel Jackson and Chris Pratt are all a part of the Jurrasic series.
One thing to ponder is how long hulk was on Sakaar, because Thor and Loki were tossed from the bifrost moments apart, yet Loki arrived weeks prior. Time works differently on Sakaar. He could have been there for a really REALLY long time
Skurge is a classic recurring Thor villain of the "worthy opponent" variety in the comics, both having a great deal of respect for each other. This version was a pretty major departure, but still managed to keep Skurge's final act of heroism EXTREMELY close to the original version
Immigrant Song is perfect for Thor. One of the lines in the song is "The hammer of the God will drive our ships to New lands ' Led Zeppelin loved Norse Mythology.
Sooo many Amon Amarth songs would rule in these movies. "Twilight of the Thunder God" would fit anywhere in the film, while "Hel" would've been the perfect intro for Hela.
This is my favorite of the Thor movies! I totally agree with the over used humor in the film. Your reaction seeing Hulk as the Champion, was great. Glad you nobody spoiled it for you. So, about Thor's password on the Quinjet... Back in the first Avengers movie, Thor, Nat, Cap, Bruce, and Fury are having a discussion about Loki. Tony and Coleson finish their conversation. Tony then walks past Thor and says, "No hard feelings Point Break, you have a mean swing!" Point Break is the name Tony Stark gave Thor in the first Avengers film because of his resemblance to Patrick Swayze in the 1991 film, Point Break. Glad you are enjoying your MCU journey, your reactions are awesome! Looking forward to the next one!
when you said rest in peace after talking about Skurge at the end, I thought you meant rip Karl Urban and I aggressively went to google freaking out 😂 just let out a huge breath of relief.
😈Agreed! Yes, the humor gives it a different feel from the previous Thor movies, which is an adjustment to make. But the important thing is, is that the humor works. It's funny and human and relatable. And it makes sense for the characters.
@@deancafe4739 Completely agreed. The humor in Thor: Dumb and Dumber did NOT work. It made no sense, and wasn't funny. Taika made a good Thor movie (IMO one of the best MCU movies), and then turned around and made what is, IMO, the absolute worst MCU movie.
@@vinnycordeiro thor is a freaking god, he is regal, he has an intimidating presence and strikes fear across the universe, but idiot taika decided to make him peter quill.. SMH.
20:32 the line “he’s a friend from work” was thought up by a Make a Wish kid. He was on set and told Chris he should say that. 21:03 Hulk ended up here after “Age of Ultron” when he took the Quinjet and flew off under stealth. Everyone here treated him like a hero and wasn’t afraid of him which is why he stayed Hulk the whole time.
I knew this movie wasn't going to quite live up to the hype for you just by your reactions to the Guardians movies and Ragnarok clearly has the same vibe. Glad you still enjoyed it overall. Also glad you weren't spoiled the Hulk was in this movie a lot of us were by the trailers
Trailers ? He was on the poster ! I hate marketing for movies ,they ruin so much . I will set you a challenge @kaiielle after you see endgame , take a sit and see the trailers ,the official ones , for all the mcu movies and be in awe of the things they showed .
For me, this really is peak Thor. I won't lie, it took me stepping away from it and coming back to it to really click with the movie, but I'm really glad that I did. The opening was just so jarring compared to the other appearances of Thor. Still, once I got a feel for it, it really became my favorite Thor movie thus far. I also kind of can't help but laugh that Korg and Meek are... basically one big rock-paper-scissors joke. Korg is a rock who was defeated by paper (not printing out enough pamphlets), and who stepped on Meek, who... is basically scissors. But, honestly, more than anything, I love what this movie meant for Loki's arc. Thor was right... he's a trickster, but he has it in him to be so much more than that. Frigga's death started that change for him, and when Odin passed, and told both of them that he was proud of them... you can see how much that hit home for him. Thor and Loki are best when they are acting as brothers... because they are _so_ good in that role. Loki is one of my MCU favorites, right up there with Cap and Rocket. 🤘😈
I believe Hemsworth had come out after Thor 2 saying something along the lines of him not really enjoying the Shakespearean depiction of the character from the first two movies, so the changes here were to help keep him happy and to mix things up from The Dark World (which was commonly thought of as the worst MCU movie at the time). This should explain why this movie feels so different to the other two. Great work as always. I never fail to enjoy these reactions. Can't wait for the next few 😈
So, this is why I LOVE people reacting to the MCU movies after they have come out by quite a bit. EVERYONE knew Hulk was going to be in this movie because he was in the promo material for it. A lot of the trailers had Thor squaring off against Hulk in the arena on Sakar. So it wasn't a huge surprise to anyone when Thor and Hulk faced off. But for others, watching this way after it came out, Hulk is a huge surprise to people :)
YEEE! It's things like this why I avoid looking at cast lists and trailers too. And why I'm so picky on people not spoiling cast/characters for me even though nobody thinks it is a spoiler to do so. 😭
@@kaiielle mmhmm. Makes for a good surprise. :) I'm happy you didn't know Hulk would be in the movie and have the epic fight with Thor. It's a highlight of the movie for sure, but was used far too much in the promo material. Did it get people to go see the movie? Yeah probably, but I think many would have seen it anyways as the MCU was at an all time high when it came out. But anyways, so glad you were happy to see Hulk.
@@kaiielle OH!! and FYI, it's never stated really in the movie, but in the comics, Valkyrie is LGBTQ, more specifically the L in it. So her and Thor have little chance of hooking up at any point :p
I really enjoy this movie, though the first one is my favorite of the Thor series. Hemsworth loved getting to cut loose and improvise under Taika’s direction. Oh, and the “He’s a friend from work!” line when Hulk was revealed* as the Champion was suggested by a Make-a-Wish kid visiting the set when they were working on that scene. ❤😈 * Your expression when Hulk came out was priceless!!
They sing no songs in Hel, nor do they celebrate heroes, for silent is that dismal realm and cheerless. But the story of the Gjallerbru and the God who defended it is whispered across the nine worlds. And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head, the answer is always the same. “He stood alone at Gjallerbru. " And that answer is enough. Skurge the executioner had one of the most memorable and meaningful redemptive deaths in Marvel, and the movies homage to his death here was incredible.
The new Humor of Himbo Thor is, for better or worse, a direct result of Chris Hemsworth flexing his movie production muscles. The goofiness is just his taste. Some people feel ambushed by the change in tone, but I love it. To me, it's authentic. As we say goodbye to Odin, we say hello to the real Thor. There are still more than enough super-serious heroes in the MCU! 😈
So sad you didn’t like this one as much as we did 😭 although I do understand the complaints with too many jokes. I do agree with you on Hela, I loved her and having a tie to our Thor is really neat. This is my favorite portrayal of Heimdall, he has many of moments to shine and is just a badass. The relationship and chemistry between Thor and Loki is perfection, also getting touchy moments with Odin and Thor realizing his power doesn’t come from the hammer but within really hits me. The get help scene is amazing and Korg has some of the best one liners in the MCU. Amazing reaction + video once again 😁😊
😈🤘 I enjoyed this, despite the 'forced' humor. I felt your eyerolls, but it's okay. Even of the ones that work really well, I don't take any of these movies seriously. With Thor's opening monologue, the stage was set for what would be a quirky, fun movie that didn't take itself too seriously. So, I just enjoyed the ride. I think the next film up is Black Panther, then Infinity War. I'm looking forward to your reactions to both. I'm along for the ride! Thank you for the watch.
I go back and forth on this one. First time through, the hype was a problem. The second time through, I liked it quite a bit more. This third time through, I could tell right from the beginning that the humor was going to pay like Guardians to you and thus I also came down on it a bit. I really love Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Taika Waititi as Korg, and the addition of Hulk (your reaction to that reveal was delightful, and of course it was in all the trailers and marketing, so most people didn't get to be caught by surprise), but I do think this particular mode of silliness, where it's sort of self-aware, is a type of humor that's very popular these days and this movie suffers from the jokes being a bit predictable. I love the earnestness of the first Thor and the Thor/Jane relationship, not to mention the ridiculously Shakespearean drama of it. Speaking of that Hulk reveal, if I'm remembering correctly, Hemsworth was doing Make-a-Wish visits and one of the kids that he spoke to suggested the line "He's a friend from work!" There was also a great deal of criticism about, well, all of Age of Ultron, but one of the many targets was the "sun's going down" stuff, which is why they're actually making fun of it by repeatedly doing it here. You may have recorded it before Ragnarok first, but Cassie just reacted to Point Break, which is a classic '90s action movie about surfers. One of the two leads looks something like Thor, before his hair gets cut. The year before this one, Waititi made what I think is his best film, the movie The Hunt For the Wilderpeople, starring Sam Neill (who you appeared to recognize as the Odin in the play, making this a Jurassic Park reunion even though he and Jeff Goldblum don't share any scenes). It also features Rachel House in a key supporting role, the same woman who plays The Grandmaster's deadpan assistant here. Highly recommend it. Replaying the credits scene from Doctor Strange in its entirety is an extension of that particular tag being one of the few that wasn't uniquely shot for the movie it appears in to set up another movie, but rather, a clip simply lifted wholesale out of that later film and dropped in the earlier one. My main thought at this point is that it's just wild that you're already this far into the MCU journey. Obviously, not going to spoil anything, but knowing what follows the first post-credits scene here, it's like, jeez...time flies. 😈
Oh I had no idea there was criticism about the "sun going down" lines .. makes sense why they really dug into that in this movie. Thanks for explaining the Point Break thing! Another movie I haven't seen. 😏 I know, I can't believe I'm already this far into it too. May set me back a bit, but I should still get nearly caught up by the end of the year. 😊 Thanks for the info/comment!
@@kaiielleou will be well caught up by the end of the year. And you should get used to some of the humor. Seth Rogan recently said that it’s hard to make comedies these days because they are directly in competition with marvel, which objectively speaking, makes comedy movies. Personally I don’t have the same feeling towards Guardians of the Galaxy that you do. These movies have the uncanny ability to make you laugh one minute and bawl your eyes out the next. There isn’t one Marvel movie that will hit you in the feels like the two guardians movies(well, almost none). No other relationship they’ve portrayed in another movie has the same amount of emotion as what James Gunn did with those. Especially in 2. Forget Quill’s relationship with Yondu, one of my favorite scenes is when Drax and Mantis are sitting on the steps and Drax muses about his daughter and taking her to see the fountains, and mantis touches him to feel what he’s feeling and she weeps so deeply and looks out on the scenery. I mean wtf, nothing else comes close to the emotion in those movies. Same in this one with Thor and Loki with Odin, and Thor and Loki’s heart to heart in the elevator. I love all the marvel movies but the humor is just a part of it. No one cracks more jokes than Tony, why does no one gripe about that?
@@portalina Thanks for the novel of you telling me what I need to feel and think. I'm my own person. Most of Tony's jokes I am fine with, but that's because I like the Avengers more than I like the Guardians of the Galaxy. I think I've said that twice now. I've also expressed that I enjoy the serious MCU instalments more, when there's less humor. I'm glad you love these movies! The best thing about Marvel is there is something in this franchise for everyone.
Korg is made of rocks, his buddy Mick with knives for hands is the only one afraid of him & his revolution was defeated because of not enough paper. Rock. Paper, Scissors personified. also, Korg's voice is the film's Director, Taika Waititi.
Once again, you’re like my favorite MCU reactor so far for your honesty (which kinda matches my taste haha). This Thor was definitely an improvement over the second one. But yeah, the humor was a little too much for me. And this like in everyone’s top 5-10. While for me again…fun movie, but right in the middle along with Guardians. Great reactions 💖❤️ Always love your honest opinions. Wish you more success on your channel!
She was Brunhilde- the Valkyrie from the comics. A nice little nod- showing that this Valkyrie isn't some inaccurate Hollywood version, but a new separate character.
@@testfire3000 Yeah, it's one of those things that you ONLY know from reading behind the scenes background information. There's really not even enough information to surmise that. There's many things in the MCU like that, like what Jason posted about it being Brunhilde (Which I didn't know). Can't put everything in a movie, but I do feel they could have put in a flash back, or more in that flashback/memory to at least hint at it more.
19:20 - "By Odin's beard, you shall not cut my hair!" So...in the early days of Marvel comics in the 60's, Stan Lee wrote the dialogue for all of those classic Marvel characters, including Thor's "Shakespearean" style of speaking. "By Odin's beard" was a very typical Stan Lee type thing for Thor to say, and here we get Thor spouting that dialogue right back at Stan Lee himself. A nice touch!
I think is the best of the Thor movies. Taika is a great director that brought a fresh take on Thor's character in this movie. I think the Thor movie after this suffered from having him direct AND write the movie; almost exactly like the 2 recent Wonder Woman movies from DC. Until very recently, Marvel studios did not have the rights to make a Hulk movie with him as the titular character - The Incredible Hulk was made by Universal in association with Marvel and they were not able to come to terms on making another Hulk film. Because of that, much of the Hulk's arc is told in the Avengers movies and in Ragnarok.
9:56 That was the most unperturbed and nonchalant reaction that I’ve ever seen to Hela destroying Mjolnir. (Timestamp fixed, as per conversation with Kaiielle.)
@@kaiielle i wonder if the mismatch is because I paused on the “livestream” premiere and not on the posted video. I imagine so. I’ll edit the timestamp after I finish watching your reaction. So far so good.
Ahh yeah that's probably it. Glad you're enjoying the reaction! I don't think my reaction to her breaking Mjolnir was nonchalant, but was it a complete surprise? No. She seemed pretty powerful right from seeing and hearing her.
Thor Ragnarok is fun to watch and rewatch. It may have some problems, but I can overlook them. Just a fun movie. Also… I can’t see Odin winning any father of the year awards. 😈
Taika Waititi, the Director, is a comedian. Everything he makes is comedy focused. He made the next Thor movie, so you probably wont like it. It has more drama, so may like it more than this one, but not much more. For me, Guardians, Deadpool and this Movie are the absolute best of the Marvel universe. Everyone has different taste. A rainbow of sensibilities.
Best part of this movie is Hulk ragdolling Thor like he did to Loki in the first Avengers. I find it hilarious though that's the same actor who played Julius Caesar on Xena: Warrior Princess playing Skurge.
@@ricardoortiz4870 Typos aside, that always blows my mind. I saw Karl Urban in reruns of Xena: Warrior Princess as her mortal nemesis Caesar before I saw him as Skurge.
Matt Damon played Loki in Kevin Smith's "Dogma" in 1999. If you know that before seeing this movie that scene is 10 times funnier. I was dying in the theater when I saw that.
8:00 i’ve been crushing on loki & bucky for sooo long 😂 & also wen loki figured out the girl was a valkyrie & he said the name she said she loved the way he said it wen they was doing a interview together
If you want to see what Thor was up to on Earth before this movie, you should watch the 'Team Thor' shorts. While technically not canon, they're a great laugh.
Yep, would say out of all the MCU movies, Thor movies are probably the most star studded for the most part. I mean, they all are, but Thor movies especially. (And Spiderman maybe I guess, but for sure between those two franchises within the MCU). Like Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Jeff Goldblum and Cate Blanchette are SIDE characters basically in these movies, not to mention Matt Damon and Sam Neil as cameo characters in for only like 1 or 2 minutes, and those are some very top billed actors. Anyways, was hoping you liked this one! Wasn't too sure as it has some Guardians of Galaxy in it for sure, but I feel like the story is pretty awesome along with the music and acting.
I liked this movie a lot, but I appreciate the humor of this and Guardians more than you do, which is totally fair. Although I do agree that Marvel does have this habit of breaking into serious moments with jokes when sometimes the seriousness should stay for better impact. I put this movie in my top 5 (or maybe just below them) for the story and humor, but also because I love Loki, Hulk had a nice bit of screen time after not seeing him for a while, and the introduction of Korg and Meik, who I got a kick out of. Plus, I have to admit, giant Surtur destroying Asgard was a very cool visual. 😈
No need to worry about Valkyrie and Thor. Valkyrie is a lesbian character. The person who died protecting her was her lover. That's why the memory was so traumatic.
When I first saw this one it was easily my favorite Thor and one of my top MCU movies. On rewatches however it's dropped in my personal tier list and I have feelings similar to yours on it. I still enjoy it but now the pacing feels rough. The writing and jokes have lost their "luster" so the timing feels pretty awkward when everything stops for them, while at other times events are moving a bit too fast. Cate Blanchett was awesome as Hela and I wish we had more time with her. And it's funny because on my first watch I thought the Hela storyline was very slow and interrupted the pacing. Now I feel everything on Sakar(?) needs to slow down and take a moment to let us enjoy it lol. Also Thor's journey to himbo status in this movie was fine and funny imo, but a little quick of a transition. Some interactions with him and his (quickly cast aside) friends would have been appreciated and would have been a chance for them to remark on how Earth is "rubbing off" on him or similar. Anyways, glad you had a mostly good time and this was a fun reaction. Looking forward to seeing you get through the next couple! 🤘
"Behold! My stuff." Honestly, this is one of my favorite superhero movies period, let alone Thor or the MCU. I mean, the Immigrant Song alone is enough to make me predisposed to like it, but throw in Taika's direction and humor, a great villain for good measure, and I'm sold. Although it should be noted that I'm not an especially big fan of the MCU movies, so it was nice for me to see something different. "Brutally unfunny humor." Hard disagree, but to each their own. I understand the point about the jokes sapping any emotional impact, but it seemed to me that the few truly heavy moments had long enough to simmer, and Taika has a gift for jumping back and forth between drama and humor. And this is the MCU after all -- it's not like we're throwing fart jokes into the middle of Long Day's Journey into Night.
Loved the reaction as always, thanks for sharing your honest thoughts - that's what makes the reactions so good. I had a feeling based on GOTG reactions that you wouldn't like this one as much as "popular opinion" and that's obviously ok. 😈 Looking forward to the next reaction!!
@@kaiielle Okay, thanks. But there are 3 other movies I rather have on the list: Outsiders, Youngblood and The Right Stuff. Thank You for nice and smart reactions!
Between the play within a movie "Build a statue of me...", gothy Cate Blanchett, and 'Get help!', Ragnarok is easily my favorite Thor, and one of my favorite Marvel movies. The bookends of Immigrant Song don't hurt either.
You’re really not here for the jokes, huh!😁 When I saw this in the theater I laughed the entire time, but as I was leaving I thought to myself, “I don’t know about that!”. Disconnected from the rest of the previous installments of the MCU, this movie is great. As a part of the MCU, eeeehh? Thor is a warrior, a king and a god. He is not a joke. This movie transformed him into a goofball. A lot of people love it, me personally I prefer the serious Norse God of phase one. I love comedy, but not when it turns our warrior/king/god into a clown.
Not relevant to the reaction itself but I peep the Lorna Shore shirt! I fucken love LS and Will Ramos is such a beast!! Salute to you fellow metal head! 🫡
😈 I don't mind the extra humor, because I do think that Thor works best as a funny character, especially in a solo movie. But I hear you. Also, I agree with the use of "Immigrant Song" feeling out of place. The entrance is epic, but the song makes me like it less than some others because of that. As always, thanks a bunch for the premiere and the reactions in general. They're always a treat to watch, and you're one of the only people for whom I stay to hear their closing remarks, because you make them succinct and to the point. I'll be looking forward to your reaction to Black Panther next! I was not a fan of that movie, but I am very much in the minority on that one. Hopefully you enjoy it a lot!
Someone must have told you this by now. When Thor first returns to Asgard and sees Loki/Odin watching the play about his death, the "actor" playing Thor is one of Chris Hemsworth's brothers. XD
Yeah someone mentioned it in the live chat! Very cool. 😊 And I did confirm after the movie that it WAS Matt Damon as Loki in the play which I think is so fun.
The scene with Dr. Strange is one of my favorites in the entire MCU. I LOVED the arena scene where Thor fights Hulk, and loved everything about the Valkyrie. In the beginning where she says they'll have to go through her to get him, ok "I'll go through you," after drunkenly falling off the ramp of her ship, she just annihilates everyone. Her telling Banner that she hopes he's tougher than he looks before ejecting him and him jumping out of the ship - then plopping onto the bridge - THEN the Hulk dragging Fenris to a halt while the Valkyrie looks on in surprise, that's all GOLD! Jeff Goldbloom was born to play the Grandmaster and I'm sure he did have a lot of fun with it. I'm actually not a huge fan of Hella. I don't know, too dark, maybe. Heimdall is always great and he really got to shine in this one. Skurge was annoying, IMO. Slightly humorous in places, yes, but in a movie that's pushing the line of too much humor. 😈
I prefer the purity of the first Thor, too. I do agree that stoic Thor can be on the boring side, but still, I like that style as long as the right things are done with it.
😈Glad you enjoyed Thor Ragnarok! I'm kinda with you though. The first Thor movie holds a special place in my heart for some reason. I like the humor of Ragnarok but again just like you it was a little heavy for me. Korg and Miek were hilarious 😅 I'm not sure who my favorite character was though. RIP to Ray Stevenson! If you ever want to take a Marvel detour. You can always check out Punisher: Warzone where he (Ray Stevenson) plays the Punisher. it is an excellent Non-MCU stand alone Marvel movie.
You'd really like Taika's best movie so far, "Jo Jo Rabbit"(2019) if you haven't already seen it. It's the quintessential satire. It would be a great reaction video too.
Tony Stark gave Thor that nickname because of the movie "Point Break" with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, he's blonde and muscular like Swayze's character.
I watched this movie after a stretch of watching/rewatching Matt Damon films and decided it was time to watch something else. Then five minutes in an uncredited Matt Damon cameo.
oddly enough, they guy playing Thor is the play is Luke Hemsworth, Chris & Liam’s other actor brother lol. he’s in the ‘Westworld’ hbo series 🤠🤖 you should peep that, it’s incredible
Ragnarok is the end of time or the end of asgard in Nordic or Germanic Mythology (Mostly the same) but it's very different than the mcu version of course. Oversimplified: Loki and his children (Hel the goddess of the dead, a giant wolf named Fenrir and a giant snake also known as the Midgardsnake named Jörmundgandr) with some ice and fire giants like Surtur that were locked away by the gods against the asgardian gods like Thor and Odin. In the end.. Everything is dead and nothing is there anymore and a new age starts. Basically a reset of everything with new gods and generations. Loki was actually a good guy but with some gray points.. He often did some chaotic things.. He also was locked away and tortured by the gods.. I think after they found out he had some demonic children with a giant named Angrboda. The wolf was taken in by the gods and was growing and growing just like the snake that was thrown into the ocean. Hel was given the right to rule over the dead by Odin because she had some connections with death.. Probably because her face was half skeleton. Loki broke out and Ragnarok was coming.. Chaos over Midgard and everything.
It's less it has a Guardians vibe than the first two Thors steered away from the acid trip galactic stuff and leaned in to a more Shakespearean vibe. Hence Branagh directing the original, getting Hopkins for Odin, etc. When Guardians proved that the colorful wacky stuff would play on screen, it let them put the stuff they were trying to avoid or downplay in the others. Hemsworth definitely wanted it to be more funny as well. But yeah, the style is way closer to the comics written by nerds on drugs lol. Oh and yeah, the one who pushed Valkyrie out of the way and died doing so was her friend. They were roommates, the historians would say.
@@kaiielle Thor in the comics is usually a very serious character and it suits him well. However I think the humour of this movie works mostly because Chris Hemsworth is a very good - and very underrated - comedian; in fact I think he is better at humour than at serious stuff.
While I enjoy the movie for various reason, I feel like I'm in a minority that doesn't appreciate all of the humor that was added. It took a fairly mature and serious character and made him a dumb goofball. Humor is good for relieving tension in a scene but when humor is dumped onto every scene it undercuts those tension filled moments.

Kaiielle the grandmaster and the collector from the 1st GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY MOVIE ARE BROTHERS
"That was a lot shorter than I expected it to be..."
That's what she said...😂
Hulk ages like anyone else. Since he's had to stay in Hulk form, he's about 2-3 years old, that's why he acts like a giant, angry, green toddler.
😈 Hulk has such an impact on this movie it cant beunderstated
In the play, Matt Damon was Loki, Sam Neil (Jurassic Park) was Odin, and Chris Hemworth's older brother Luke was playing Thor.
* Your expression when Hulk came out was priceless!!
And that answer is enough.
I loved seeing how you reacted to seeing Hulk, I was looking forward to seeing it when you were thinking who would be the great champion.
I had a good time with it! Just not a Top 3 MCU movie like so many place this one.
@@kaiielleya I understand
😈🤘
I enjoyed this, despite the 'forced' humor.
@@kaiielledefinitely recommend Point Break. Classic Keanu and Swayze bromance.
The use of Led Zepplin for Thor's bridge entrance is still one of the better sound track choices.
Thanks so much!
"Her friend?" Actually the Valkyrie that sacrificed herself to save this Valkyrie was her wife. That's a major part of her losing so much/everything.
Yeah but that isn't obvious at all from what we see in the movie. I do wish they had done more with that.
They were "roommates".
They were too scared to actually say that lmao
Your timestamp is a couple minutes behind where the reaction actually is to that scene.

Not only was Matt Damon playing "Loki" in the play, but it's the *Second time* he's played a character named Loki :)
Thor Ragnarok is fun to watch and rewatch. It may have some problems, but I can overlook them. Just a fun movie.
Also… I can’t see Odin winning any father of the year awards.

If you want to see what Thor was up to on Earth before this movie, you should watch the 'Team Thor' shorts. While technically not canon, they're a great laugh.
Great reactions, I just don’t know why I always watch after the movie reaction. I just love these movies so much I found this movie hilarious.
Did you know the grand master is the brother of the collector?
"Behold! My stuff."
Honestly, this is one of my favorite superhero movies period, let alone Thor or the MCU.
Easily One of the best superhero movies, can rewatch this all the time.
😈We're getting so close to the epic-ness of the MCU! I'm so excited!! 🤘
Me too!

I actually completely agree about the comedy. the first Thor movie was plenty funny without just being another Guardians movie.
Between the play within a movie "Build a statue of me...", gothy Cate Blanchett, and 'Get help!', Ragnarok is easily my favorite Thor, and one of my favorite Marvel movies. The bookends of Immigrant Song don't hurt either.
You’re really not here for the jokes, huh!😁
When I saw this in the theater I laughed the entire time, but as I was leaving I thought to myself, “I don’t know about that!”.
I agree with you, I def prefer serious Thor, but I also prefer the more serious instalments of the MCU anyway. Some of the humor worked, some didn't!

I don't mind the extra humor, because I do think that Thor works best as a funny character, especially in a solo movie.
You're so lucky you didn't see the trailer where they spoiled the Hulk reveal.
The fact that Hulk was in this movie was also on the movie poster that she didn’t see. That’s how I knew that Hulk was in this.
I prefer the purity of the first Thor, too. I do agree that stoic Thor can be on the boring side, but still, I like that style as long as the right things are done with it.
I think there was definitely a way to add more humor and lightheartedness without becoming so blatant and ruining all of the moments with it
😈Glad you enjoyed Thor Ragnarok!
It's on my list! It's been in a Patreon poll before but didn't win.
Tony Stark gave Thor that nickname because of the movie "Point Break" with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves, he's blonde and muscular like Swayze's character.
Yeah, haven't seen that one yet! But probably will one day here for the channel.
I watched this movie after a stretch of watching/rewatching Matt Damon films and decided it was time to watch something else. Then five minutes in an uncredited Matt Damon cameo.
LOL amazing. 🤣 YOU CANNOT ESCAPE HIM!
Kaiielle in the comics thanos was so in love with hela he went after the infinity stones . Hela is more powerful than thanos
I think Tony named Thor’s code for the QuinJet “Point Break” because he looked like Patrick Swayze to him.

The snake scene was improvised
oddly enough, they guy playing Thor is the play is Luke Hemsworth, Chris & Liam’s other actor brother lol. he’s in the ‘Westworld’ hbo series 🤠🤖 you should peep that, it’s incredible
Thor smoldering fire hulk raging fire 🔥
Ragnarok is the end of time or the end of asgard in Nordic or Germanic Mythology (Mostly the same) but it's very different than the mcu version of course.
Oversimplified:
Loki and his children (Hel the goddess of the dead, a giant wolf named Fenrir and a giant snake also known as the Midgardsnake named Jörmundgandr) with some ice and fire giants like Surtur that were locked away by the gods against the asgardian gods like Thor and Odin.
I think I def prefer the Shakespearan vibe with Thor/Asgard. Nice to know it's close to the comics though!
