A 'circus' is an RAF codename for an operation that uses a heavily escorted bomber forces to lure up Luftwaffe fighters to fight and 'suffer attrition': here is an explanation: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Circus_offensive; as the entry says, a bomber mission with the intention of destroying a target is called a 'Ramrod'.

Nice video. Quite an impressive game for its age, modability and the community really made this game something. I'm an IL-2 GB flyer who started around time il-2 COD arrived (and I do have 1946 also). This game is def one (if not the) combat sim that started it all... Il-2 GB does not have the modability that this does (I think prob because some ppl in community might do some stuff better...)
They are all great sims in their own right.

By the way apparently it was just Paulus not von Paulus, he wasn't an aristocrat.
I know wellington bomber use 7.7 machine guns, which is not high caliber, but they still should have tracers? I cannot see any shots from the bombers, but I know they did shoot because Misha was heavily damaged by them, just wondering why no tracers. When I play this game fighting B -17 bombers, there are tracers everywhere.
Just One question, I am still new to the game and every time I fight bombers, it goes like this:
1, find them
2, If possible go head on, then follow the bomber behind.
3, Shoot them from behind and finish every intercept with diving down, then climb again and do the same thing.
4, always run out of ammo before run out of bombers
I dive because I found it is harder for bombers to shoot at you, even I did this I sometimes still get shot. I saw the video and you guys climb every time after intercepting, isn't it easier for the bomber to shoot at you? what is the best move to fight against bombers? and how not to get shot? Seeing you at 25:57 it really might not be a good choice for me to dive every time, might end up making the same mistake if I keep doing so.

I also don't understand the bailout. Sometimes they let you, even at a very high altitude, like 3000 - 5000 meter. sometimes they just don't. You drop the hatch cover and the pilot never come out. What determine if you can bail out or not? Dose injuries prevent pilots from bailing out the plane?
When the missions starts is there any way of having bombers automatically in formation rather than flying everywhere and forming up over time? Or is it something you can't avoid and need to make the bombers spawn further out to form up properly.

the 109 is kind of a jack of all trades too,you cant have as much fun whit p-47s and p-51s because they are only good at certain things
Fishyyy can you do a step by step as to how to mod il-2 like you I have tried and am just incapable of getting it to look like yours or even run at all with mods 😂 help would be appreciated thanks
There is not much to say about setting up the YPack Version. Just Download all the parts. Put all of them in a seperate folder(1). Then create a new folder(2) for your Game directory. And then execute the application in folder (1) and point the extraction to the directory of folder (2).
You dont need Il-2 for YPack
This mod is a standalone IL2
