thats exactly why the 90s are so revered. sooooo many acts, female solo, male solo, male groups, female groups. in 2s, in 3s, in 4s, in 5s, in even 6s! and they ALL were unique and brought something different to the table. the competition was there, but they all stood out in their own unique ways. and not just in R and B. other genres too. rap/hip hop, pop, etc.
I remember going to Constitution Hall in'94 to see Silk, UNV, and Intro when I was in the 10th grade, and it was a fire concert. It was nothing but females, and I was in heaven.
