I thought i would add some info for anyone backpacking these countries on a cheaper budget. I roughly spent £20 -£40 a day including accomadation, travel , activities , food. In 4 months I spent around 6k, i definitely could of done this cheaper as i did a messed up route and booked overpriced flights. but for 2 months i lived off around £25 for thailand, cambodia and vietnam. But sometimes it’s better to spend more money to fully enjoy the experience :)
Anyone that does want to backpack and is worried to book it themselves there is a great company called STA Travel (in the uk) that really helps with backpacking if you are under 25 i think they get student prices for you too. I used them the first time i went thailand and it made it alot easier.

£1,200 is mint for 2 months for those hotels you were in!!!! I spent that on 5 nights (panoramic room) for troya hotel in tenerife! 😱

That is so cheap, flight in the US can be up to $1200 per person to fly within the Us.
