Beautiful and honest video! Quick and to the point with a great amount of info 👏🏼What was your transportation like from the train station to the hotel? Do you recommend a specific luxury van transfer company from the station to the hotel?
Thank you so much! We really appreciate that!! So our train ticket came with the transfer so that was easy enough - it was quite crowded though. The train was a pretty brutal overnight experience and if I were to do it again, I would probably book a luxury bus from hanoi instead of the train. However, it's a beautiful departure on the train from Hanoi so if you do book it, just be prepared for minimal sleep but a cool experience :).
👍 I just saw this Sa Pa's *Hotel de Coupole* featured briefly on *DownieLive* channel and had to check it out more. Thanks for being so thorough on your thoughts and experience!
You guys are INCREDIBLE!!!! I have just gone into a deep drive of your channel!!!!! My fiancée and I are getting married in November and are looking to do a honeymoon in an overwater bungalow! I have gone through so many of your reviews and have found them all incredibly helpful, however, I was wondering if you had a recommendation for us as far as a resort for someone staying in an overwater bungalow for the first time. We are looking for an all-inclusive if possible! :)
Hi Cassidy! Thank you so much, we're so happy that you're enjoying the reviews and finding them helpful 😊 We'd be happy to help you with some recommendations! It really depends on your preferences and your budget, because there are endless options! Just email us at team@voyagerguru.com or DM us on instagram.
Thanks for the detailed review! Me and my friends are going to spend a night there in April, and I had some high expectations since I'm an Accor Platinum member... But after watching your review, I'm kinda anxious whether the receptionist/customer service will grant me my benefits upon checking in :(
Hey Patrice! thanks for your comment! While the service definitely wasn't up to the 5 star standard, accor properties are required to grant you the benefits as per the program so as long as you know what the benefits are going in, you can make sure they are granted at check in! that's my recommendation :)
I could sense the frustration with your review guys, such a beautiful hotel with a basic problem( which is very solvable) but probably the most important aspect of any good business: customer service. Would love these hotels to invite you guys for a re-review 6 months later to showcase their improvements.
We would love that too haha! It really is a struggle sometimes to see a hotel with soooooo much potential under perform in really basic areas. But as we said, we hope that they take feedback proactively and hopefully one day we will be invited back to review 😉
@@VoyagerGuru It’s no-brainer for the company! I really enjoy all of your reviews and hope to see a future revisit of this accommodation.😊 Sending ❤️ to both of you from Scotland.
Hi there! Do you have a key or legend for your star ratings? I’m guessing 3 *** means inconsistent, and 4 **** is probably good but may have subtle flaws. Am I accurate?
Hey Kevin! Yes that's essentially a good summation of it. We look at key measures in each category based on global benchmarks for luxury hotels, and then adjust for the specifics of that local market, and the competition in the area. But generally, yes, 3 stars indicate an inconsistent experience where issues are prevalent and not merely circumstantial or isolated incidents. A 4-star rating signifies a generally positive experience but with noticeable shortcomings in certain key areas. These issues are sometimes circumstantial and appear to be either easily fixable or actively being addressed by the hotel. For finer distinctions, the half-stars are where nuances come into play: 4.5 stars are given when subtle flaws prevent a hotel from achieving a perfect score in its category, despite outstanding performance in other aspects. We've never published a key, but perhaps we should!?
Hi VG- I like the casual aspect of the stars, plus I get the feeling that you are generally open to another future experience. It’s up to you, but I was curious about three stars since it’s typically a lower score on your videos! I dont think I’ve seen you give a two star review? I may be wrong?
Thanks Kevin! Yes, in terms of future improvements to categories, we try to leave room open to those improvements. It's also important to note that by the nature of the hotels we choose to stay at, or more importantly the hotels that choose to host us, there's a certain degree of confidence that the hotel is already in a peak category. Every hotel we rate is a traditionally considered a 4-5 star hotel, so to get a 2 star rating is rare, but not unheard of. There are several hotels over the years that we've rated 2 stars in certain categories. Also it's important to understand the manner in which we review a hotel is very different from a trip-advisor/yelp review, which are based exclusively on an individuals own good/bad experience. We look at our reviews more holistically, reviewing categories based on the experience a guest can expect to have, rather than the individual experience we had.
@@VoyagerGuru yes please do!!!! we use sandpaper to wipe our doo doo so it leaves back dingleberries in our cardboard undies. we need proper toilet paper you white peeps use. love u both!
As always, beautiful.
Thank you so much, Kristine!
The interior of this hotel is so outrageous, I just love it ! I would definitely stay there despite the shortcomings !
It really has an outstanding level of style, certainly one of the coolest and most unique hotels I think we've ever stayed at.
