Sumeru nail is most likely inside the giant sandstorm. It has blue light emanating from the inside, the same colour as other nails. And the lore supports this theory.

That opening shot of Fontaine is already nostalgic for me lol. It was my first new region upon joining the game and I was so hyped for it as I was learning French in school too. I counted down the hours and when it launched I literally sprinted back to my room to boot it up. I was torn between appreciating the view for a while longer or starting the archon quest. It does feel like yesterday but that is also what makes it sad looking at the view, it feels so recent but it’s been almost a year since its release and shows just how much time has passed.
Anyway as a Sumeru desert enjoyer, thank you for appreciating us. My favorite one is probably the Desert of Hadramaveth because it’s the desert but it also has this dramatic and melancholy theme to it, which matches with the lore of the area, I also love the Jeht quest.

It's just such a comfy, cozy place to come back to, like a safe little corner or resting place in the middle of the sea, you even have a music box inside and you can change the music for a hidden achievement. I remember being kinda spooked by the atmosphere of the underground chasm when the area first released lol. But me being a bit spooked and cautious really added to the thrill of it all! (PS, I'm not sure if many people know/remember at all, but there is actually still a way you can go out of bounds in the underground chasm. No glitches required or anything! I myself still sometimes like to go out of bounds in the underground chasm because it's kinda interesting to look at lol.)

Thank you for these great videos! It's so nice to see an appreciation for the overworld, and see people sharing their emotional connection to it. I like the battle mechanics and all, but Genshin has such a gorgeous world design. Sometimes, I just use it as an emotional outlet to hang out and relax. My favorite place for that right now is the boat ride in the Chenyu Vale, with the boatman singing.

Definitely too early to be part of this list, but the little table at the end of the path that's outside, northwest of Fontaine's main city is definitely going to be a nostalgic place for me. While we don't actually go there in Sigewinne's quest, it's nearby and I'm 1000% sure it's where Sigewinne has those talks with her old mentor. It's surrounded by flowers and there's some bulle fruit on the table. It's so small and seemingly insignificant, but the history behind it makes it special.

This year we did it again! My roommate officiated the wedding as Kaveh lol✨(he wasn't released at the time last year).

The desert beach is close to the map's edge and has nothing really going on, so I think most people won't go there regularly, but I think it's just a nice spot to breath, to look at a beautiful sunset over a sea that leads to yet unknown shores and to remember the desert that's now behind you.

Also one of my favorite places to visit which i mentioned in my last comment, are the temples all the way down in the Liyue Lisha region at the Qingxu Pool. For some reason back in 1.0 and 1.1 i helped almost all my buddies collect the chests and clear the challenges there so i became a tourguide of some sorts of that area because i helped so many. It’s great to hear someone else’s insight and experience of a game you’ve loved so much so that’s why I really enjoyed the videos, this might motivate me to clear up my backlog of world and story quests I’ve left for too long…
One of my favourite places which I feel gets forgotten is under tunigi hollow where at the end of the quest we found the literal gate to khanriah, like to me that’s the coolest thing ever and when you climb your way to the entrance there’s a lone flower sitting at the door and you get an achievement “abandon all hope, ye who enter here” which just sends chills even now.

This is great! I just watched this video and your previous one and I also never realized how nostalgic some of these places could make me feel, but as you were showing the clips, playing the music and explaining all of it I definitely remembered some of my fondest early game memories...
As you explained how you went over the top cliff between Mondstadt and Liyue and missed the road and then felt like you missed out when you came back, I actually had the opposite experience! The top side of that cliff was one of the last areas I explored in Liyue. I think I got to it from Dragonspine but as you see Mondstadt on one side and then Wnagshu Inn on the other, walk around and see both dandelions and chili peppers on that area, stand on Mondstadt-esque rock while Liyue music plays in the background, I felt really amazed how the devs created such a beautiful transition area between the two regions.
Another place that holds a lot of nostalgia for me is Azhdaha's tree in Liyue. I remember the creepy little girl NPC hanging around there and people making theories about what's going to happen with her, and then we got Zhongli's story quest which is still probably my favourite story quest in the game, actually incorporating the NPC, giving us one of the heaviest stories in the game at the time with the whole "corrosion" and the price for Zhongli's long life, and recontextualizing the whole area which has been there since the beginning... It is also nostalgic for me because I remember my Genshin friend group really struggling to defeat the Azhdaha weekly boss at the time because he was just the tankiest enemy in the whole game, and our process of slowly becomig better and better, and finally upgrading to defeating him with a full team of children as Sayu was first released and we were finally able to play 4 child characters at a time lol.

  • @AngelBolt
    @AngelBolt 24 дня назад

Ahh, someone finally acknowledges CRAB ISLAND. ThE BEST PLACE TO FARM CRABS.
One of my favorite spots to return to is the top of the Dragonspine Nail. It's the highest standable point in the map, and at some point I think there's been a little change!
As you may know, Dragonspine is covered with an environmental effect that inflicts sheer cold, and is relieved with certain sources of heat that may require Pyro to start up. I used to make a habit of going to the top of the Nail, cranking my settings up as high as possible, and seeing the landmarks from other areas, but I remember being limited by the Sheer Cold I could withstand. But now, the very top of the nail doesn't have that effect! You can just stay up there.
Fun fact: Hoyo uses tall, easily recognizeable landmarks, like Dragonspine, Wangshuu Inn, the Jade Palace, the Sakura Shrine, Sumeru City, the Desert Pyramids and many others to help orient players! The technique was honed by the Disney parks, using interesting landmarks and silhouettes to entice people further in. This was also refined in Breath of the Wild, using these landmarks to pull people towards a route, and then distract them with something new. And the best part? These landmarks are called Weenies. Genshin is Full of Weenies! Go to the top of the Sumeru Akademiya and you can see a Weenie from almost every area!

I remember on the first day of the game's release when I saw the unnamed island from the distance and decided to try and build an ice bridge towards it with Kaeya.
I don't remember the last time I even thought about using an ice bridge as I tend to just glide or climb over everything these days.
Also it appears that I have a weak spot for "sub-areas" like Dragonspine (my favorite place to walk around from time to time and take photos), Tsurumi Island, Enkanomiya, the Chasm and now Chenyu Vale. Except for the whole desert part of Sumeru that is still not even 30% explored. Deserts are hit or a miss in open-world games for me and I just didn't like this one enough. The Abyss details were cool tho and I definitely like to go to the crystal-like spikes and look at the starry hole.

thank you for a second video, i loved the first one!!! i really really do love genshin; i started playing it because of peer pressure (lol) in Feb 2022, and most of my friends don't really play it anymore but i'm still logging in daily :') it helped me through some bad times - when I entered Teyvat, it seemed like an escape from reality, with the bright colors and the music and the freedom to go anywhere and do anything. i'm in a better place now, but to this day, it remains my comfort game, and i hope that i'll be playing it all the way to khaenriah, or until servers shut down.
i mentioned the pathway to Liyue City in the first video's comment section, so i thought i'd add another - the archon statue in Mondstadt. i didn't even know you could sit in its hands after Venti's SQ, and i think the emotional impact of the quest on top of the view you get across Mondstadt left such a strong impression on me that i remember it to this day. plus it seems so peaceful, with the sun shining and a light breeze; it's like time has stopped for that moment and everything will be okay.

i went through dragonspine XD like a crazy person but i love the road from dawn winery to liyue, i saw wangshu inn and omg i was so glad to finally be back in civilisation XD
loved zhongli's story quests they were well written for early game stories, then standing on the peek just such a good ending.

the view is beautiful from the peek on the chasm, you can see across liyue of one side and into sumeru on the other, most of my exploration in the chasm was from the quests there chasm splunkers and perilous trail so it has a special place in my heart.
the Palace of Alcazarzaray is beautiful, the way it compliments and blends into the surroundings, kaveh is one of my favourte sumeru characters and i feel so bless i got him C3 on release, vanarara and most of the locations in the aranara quest were beautiful, the runi golems made me motion sick caused of the angles with the camera, the temples are so differnet theres a sense of grandure and a meloncolic atmosprear like were walking into places that had meaning but have been long forgotten by time in the world itself.
you can see the tree from almost everywhere in the upper desert and some parts of fontaine and the area itself has a magical feel.
there are some places i like to go revisit just because the views are beautiful, the top of juyan kurst looking out over the mists and seeing just the peeks of the rocks, azhdahas little area and the tree, then theres a rock on a small mountain in liyue that you can sit on and it has a beautiful view of dragonspine, wangshu inn, stone harbour and just in the distance you can see a glimps of the liyue harbour and the lights, i have many a screen shot from there especially at sunrise and sunset. sumeru the sandstorm its massive and the swirling effect form the sand is really pretty, the view from the very top of the divine tree in sumeru.

I think I was doing the begginings of the Dragonspine quest when I got waylaid by a band of overleveled Fatui, and ended up by the Liyue weapon mat domain in the east, so I got that statue of the seven, and went exploring. I got to Stone Gate from Liyue’s side.

Also, the sanctuary of surasthana! .... It is so calm and peaceful and ... safe/cozy feeling? I know it's creepy to many but to me it's very calming and I haven't had reason to return there in way too long ....
