- A multipoint lock runs the length of a PVC or Composite door and has several points of contact (such as hooks or bolts) which lock the door into the frame. There are some telltale signs that your multipoint lock could be about to fail -- your door handle could be drooping, jamming, feel loose, or make a 'clunking' sound when operated, or you may need to use unnecessary force when turning the handle and opening the door.
Many older multipoint locks are reaching the end of their lifecycle and over the coming months and years, growing numbers are expected to fail as a natural result of years of usage, which is why it's worth replacing your lock as soon as it starts to show any of these warning signs.
The Yale Doormaster™ replacement multipoint lock range allows you to quickly and easily replace your lock, without the hassle and cost of replacing the entire door.
If you have a PVC door and are a competent DIYer, you can opt for a Doormaster™ Universal replacement multipoint lock, which comes with all parts and fixings included.
The Doormaster™ Universal is available from major retailers. To find out more about the Yale Doormaster™ range or to arrange professional installation via your nearest Yale Doormaster™ Expert, please visit www.yale.co.uk/doormaster.
Fantastic thank you
I followed this and managed to change my locks .
great product, although the keeps should be able to be levelled on both sides to make the truly universal, also some white plastic strips to cover any redundant hook casing holes in the frame would be the icing on the cake
My keep is not sticking on to the frame even after adjusting please help
Just fit a new lockmaster g/box Job done!!
Yale Products are made using cheap alloys that are not suitable for usage outside. They corrode and look terrible after 2 years and the company dont care. Now they tell me that their new lock does not fit as a replacement for their old stock so need a new door - £1500 cost due their rubbish
Yep, same happen to me.
@@pqrstzxerty1296 will never be buying a Yale again
I just got this lock, what are the grey bits of plastic for??
They fit into the door above and below the new lock assembly. The new fitting won't be the same length as the old one.
@@philipnelson7613 yeah but isn’t it funny in the video of the white door it doesn’t show how short this uni face plate is, in this video is shows faceplate FULL LENGTH OF A NORMAL DOOR….. talk about miss leading before you go and buy it….. LAST TIME I buy a Yale
8 minutes of my life I won't get back , why no advice on adjustment after fitting 👎
All the instructions for preparing the system?
Is a series of steps required before installing it they are listed on a sticker on the side of it but not in your video
Thank you, very helpful video instructions and product instructions with this product. defininaly worth getting and easy to fit to replace the old unit. (fitted very well to the surelock 64 multi lock system)
I think I have a problem in that my back set is 50mm,the rest of the required measurements are fine.
