I stopped listenin' to the radio over 15 years ago, i knew they was taking HipHop downhill so i started making my own beats, recording my own music & listening to what I WANNA LISTEN to, not to what they want me to listen to.💯
If hot 97 was the house that jayz build, than why didnt hot 97 blackballed 50 cent In 2003 when 50 was poppin..... It's time to give the south they props and realize that the birth and advancement of social media is why hiphop spread to so much different regions........ those days of new York and the Westcoast having hiphop under they arm is over, south always been in hiphop but around 1999 is when the south was really breaking through and it was just a matter of time when they were gonna have they turn running the shyt and that happen around 2004, the same time when 50 was already poppin.... I remember big gipp, who seems like he is still butt hurt over the 90s, made a comment about when he first heard 50 he thought he was from down south, and how 50 rapped like a down south dude....lol Clearly The south is still holding grudges over the 90s..... Let's not act like before 50 blew in 2003, the only poppin rapper in new York was jayz....... nas was still relevant, ja rule was still poppin, the lox was there, camron, and nore was still poppin even fat joe, dmx...... Problem is 50 came through like a hurricane with dope music and the Eminem machine behind him, and he made dudes take sides, he started beefing with, ja , lil Kim, the lox, fat joe and, he only made music In house....... 50 and gunit was running things, no more rocafella, murder inc, ruff ryders and gunit at the time didn't do track with other artist like that...... if you did a track with 50 enemy than you become his enemy...... no body from the east coast music could match up to 50 Outside of the unit, maybe dipset was poppin, but dipset was more local than g unit who was kinda worldwide, and than the south got hot as fish grease, from lil john, jd introducing new artist like franchise boys ,jkwon, south was dropping dances with there party songs, ringtone rap era, etc........ the sound of hip hop was changing, eventually that street shyt with 50 was getting played out and you got kanye west who was also changing the sound of hiphop......... It happens every era, hiphop is forever going to keep changing, eventually it will comeback to new york but it will take time, I think we give jayz too much power because realistically jayz wasn't selling the most albums in new york....... jayz couldn't black ball, murder Inc, or gunit, or ruff ryders....... all these labels moved more units than jigga....... Problem is Jayz is older than alot of these dudes and clearly is alot smarter and knows how to make moves........ notice he warned his team to put out as much music as possible, because he knew that 50 cents wave was coming....... noticed he retired in 2004 right in the wave.........
They had no choice but to accept 50 he was signed to interscope got the biggest artist at interscope he under how they gonna do that they had 50 blackballed in 2000
