You asked what we like to see: I like seeing your purchases and reviews of the yarn. Loved seeing your knitting ideas and sharing the differences you see between patterns, Love how you share the conflicts of buying yarn, knitting too many garments etc. And I think you're the first person who has shared how for the first two weeks you wonder why you knit a particular garment. When I watch podcasts and see how the knitters can't wait to wear what they are knitting, I wonder why I don't feel this way. I, too, need a week or two before i fall back in love with the idea of what I have knit! In past podcasts, I have liked how you compare Petite Knit patterns. That was really helpful. Good luck with the dress! Thanks for the podcasts.
A sunroom, views of the ocean, bike rides to the beach 😲 sounds like the dream 😃 I would like to see Project Spotlights where you focus on one or more patterns and you show the making of it, how you wear it, how the yarn is holding up, etc. Otherwise it's really surprising to me how I never get bored of listening to you. You could probably ramble for hours and it would sound entertaining (I don't know how you do it 😊) Darcie saying "Let me describe it" was funny, where does she get that confidence, is she running for Prime Minister 😅
I tend to "regret" my sewing projects for a while after finishing them. I just chalk it up to my brain being tired of seeing the same thing everyday and putting so much work into it. Then after about a week or so I can pull the item back out and love wearing it.
Same. Thought it was just me. I can spot and hyper focus on the things that I should have done differently. But with time the regret fades and I fall back I. Love.
I don't think the thing with needing to get used to newly finished items is only you. I have that too and I often heard it especially in the sewing community. I think it is because we spend so much time thinking and optimizing the item while working on it, so we have sky high expectations and once we put it on in the beginning things get real in a way. I've gotten used to it and often just put away my new garment for a few days and I always know in the end I love most of my handmade items.
I bought on Hobbi and was charged quite a bit on duties as well. However, that's because you aren't paying Canadian HST etc. on the order to begin with. So if you were buying on a Canadian site, they would charge you the tax. it's pretty much the same. I love your Paul sweater and you did a great job describing it. I'm looking for a nice cardigan pattern. Will be considering it. Thanks Rosie from Toronto.
I would love to see some new designer spotlight videos if you would enjoy making those! Especially with designers who have some test knits coming out! I would love to test knit more!
SO excited for a review of that bramble ridge superwash merino hank of fluff! i come for any of your content but my personal favorite videos are your performance reviews. i very much like hearing about how a finished item wears several months after completion and how the yarn holds up as well as cost/value analysis for the yarn/pattern. also, congrats on the move!
Glad you’re back, Melissa! I also ordered the Malabrigo yarn when buying some Drops yarn on sale. I bought the color Polar moon and this color came out so silvery which I don’t like on my olive tone skin. Also where possible I picked out all of the linen (?) threads since they feel soo scratchy. I used it with a Noro yarn to create a denser fabric in a cardigan. I wouldn’t want this yarn to be next to skin, but maybe you can tolerate it. If I can make a wish: please make a comparison video for texture sweaters (eg Salty days sweater, Ingrid sweater and ..?)
I love your Paul cardigans. I do the same thing when I finish something. haha! I don't know why. Congratulations on the new house! I'd like to know when Megan sells that brushed merino.. I have an alpaca & mohair intolerance so I'd love something like that. Darcy is adorable! I think I referred to our son as a toddler until kindergarten. All the best, Kimberly
I feel you with the I knit too many garments thing. I've been trying to find knitworthy people in my life to gift sweaters I want to make to. Also that way I'm prepared for any gifting occasion early. I even have a stack of baby blankets hanging around.
Susurro happens to be my favorite summer yarn. It gets softer with wear. I think it would work great with that top. I wish I had known about the sale.😂
I always do my button holes with yarn overs in the double knitted button band, this is what all Slavic speaking RUclips uses. I’ve learned this method from my mom. Assuming that Moreca knit is Polish, I’d be very surprised if she uses a different method.
I love your performance review videos! (I watch and like all videos though). Drops Air is such a great yarn for kids sweaters! I am currently working on a Selene Junior by Anne Ventzel in Drops Air for one of my kids. I am also planning on knitting a long sleeve Maggie cardigan. I am done swatching but had a hard time hitting gauge for what I wanted. I am now holding three yarns together lol (KFO cotton merino plus two colourmart lace yarns). Looks really pretty but its going to be a bit of a pain with the two lace weight cones... Nora from AKA Nora Knits made a Ranunculus in Susurro (I think when she first started her podcast). I think she really liked it.
Wow! That merino yarn looks scrumptious! I need to know where to find it bare! I like to dye my own yarn for projects sometimes, and that looks like it would work for the Clara sweater!
Thanks so much for your episode, good to see you back and congrats on the house! I would be very interested to know if you ended up making the Late Summer Wrap, a pattern from Knitting for Olive. A while ago you mentioned you bought a kit, but hesitated to cast it on, because of the comments about the pattern on Ravelry. I am totally in the same boat, and would love to hear your thoughts on it.
Thanks so much for watching! Late Summer Wrap - I did cast on in the Spring but put it on hold. I still have the same concerns about the pattern and fit and am waiting for the Cara Wrap pattern (the.creabea) to be released. Most likely, I will frog what I've done and switch patterns.
I fell in love with your first Paul Cardigan and now with the second one! I’m ready to cast on one too 😍 By the way, which colorway is the Lang yarn you used for the scarf? My daughter would love one with a lot of colors! 🌈
I could totally cast on another Paul but I feel like I should work through my queue first haha. There is no fancy colour name for the Lang yarn. On the label it says "col. 859".
I'm so excited to see drops air in a video (new to garment making and cast on my first ever sweater this week. The novice sweater by petiteknit). I couldn't find a local store with drops air (one of the suggested yarns in my pattern and the only suggested one held single which is what I wanted for my first attempt) or really what I was looking for coloriwize online buttttt here in the US at my local Joann's they had a "Cloudpaca" yarn that is also blown and a mix of baby alpaca, merino, and the polyamide. It had the same gauge suggestions as air and same skein length 150m and and weight of 50g. And it's working up to meet gauge in my pattern so far. Just thought I would mention for those looking for a more widely accessible version.
I’ve ordered about 10 times from Hobbie and probably another 10 times from out of the country (Canada ☺️) and was only dinged with duties once. Not sure why that time and not the others, but I did order from Hobbie again after I got dinged and it was fine.
Looking forward to seeing how the Garland yarn knits up!
Brushed merino/nylon?!? I am all over that. Can’t wait till it hits the market.

Yes, I have the same feeling. I need sometimes a good month to warm up to my finished object
I love spot the difference and performance reviews ❤
I really enjoyed the video where you found patterns similar to Sezane designs and I also really like the Spot the Differences series
Congratulations on your move!! Maybe do a spot the difference between store bought sweaters and patterns?

so true! same for me
I also unpack everything at once and can't stand boxes!!! Yes!
Your Paul Cardigan is beautiful. I think I might need one too.
Loving your Paul Cardigan in smallest vesrion, I think I might add it to my knitting list 🧡

Ahh, love the color of your double slippers! Would love to hear about or see your felting process with the Briggs and Little yarn :)
I would love to see some new designer spotlight videos if you would enjoy making those! Especially with designers who have some test knits coming out! I would love to test knit more!
I’m also making the Sadie Sweater this year and I think it’s the thing in my queue I’m most exited about! Can’t wait to see yours :)
So glad you are back! 🧶 Congrats to the new house 🏡
Greetings from Sweden ❤️🇸🇪

What a beautiful sweater
Oh my gosh, that review by Darcie was so cute!
Your daughter is so beautiful and funny 😄😍🥰 love your relaxing videos and choices ❤❤❤❤
Glad you’re back, Melissa!

Loving all your content 🎉 but it would be nice to get a video of your favourite knits to wear.
So excited to see Susurro! I want to use it for a Diona top

I’m over here hoping and wishing Bramble Ridge brings the brushed merino in as a base because I WANT IT

@@stringthingsbymel thank you so much! I already ordered the yarn to knit the scarf 😍

For the unicorn's mane, you should use the stellina yarn you're using for Darci's scarf!

I’m currently making a cloud sweater out of drops air!!!! I’m holding it with drops brushed alpaca silk
I am planning on the same Unicorn sweater for my grand Daughter
