Would it be possible to do another video in the Tales series please? Maybe of one that hasn’t received an official translation like Destiny or Rebirth?
I’ve been learning Japanese for about 1 1/2 years and one of my aims is to play all of the Tales games that were never released outside of Japan. So anything to help get started would be amazing!

10:42 - This is actually quite close to the English version in a way. Surname Naruhodo = That's right = Right = Wright. First name Ryuichi has Ryu = Dragon which is another mythical creature like a Phoenix. It was confusing reading English-language walkthroughs because the names are all different and I've never played Ace Attorney in English, but it was really cool to see how they've translated and kept wordplay sort of intact.
Mitsurugi is spelled 御剣 which is like [honorific] + [blade]. The English translation is Edgeworth which is kind of genius.

This series is terrible for all the extra crap they added. And they take out random stuff too, like refusing to translate the part about him being the most nervous he's been since elementary school right at the beginning. They basically just rewrote the game however they wanted half the time.

5 hours of gameplay with explanations for every word and particle? It took me about two minutes after discovering this video that I realized I needed to sign up for a Game-Gengo membership.
Dude, I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to break down not just the new words in each gameplay video, but even the "easy", "familiar" words that a beginner might struggle with. Your dedication and energy make these videos so much fun to watch, and the videogame focus makes it so much more interesting for me to follow along with compared with other forms of immersion. I can't wait to see what you come up with next and I look forward to supporting this incredible community!

Though… I guess I did start by translating some of the initial menus so that I’m not just playing from previous experience, and tried to get some of the common vocab of this game into Anki, so maybe it’s been about 6-7 hours? 😅

I just recently finished the full Ace Attorney 1 in Japanese recently, it was a really great experience. Looking forward to watching this video, though like with the game itself, it'll take ages to get through with a lot of stopping and starting because it's massive!
My Japanese is around N3 level (at a guess) and I won't lie, this game could be tough in parts. Not ashamed to say I frequently used a walkthrough and Google Translate to make progress, more so in the later chapters. I also skipped over many lines of dialogue where I could tell I wasn't going to fully understand it, and where 100% comprehension wasn't necessary for moving forward. Despite all that "cheating", it was worthwhile playing and very entertaining. Plus, the instances where I could fully understand a line of dialogue immediately without looking up any translation or dictionary were so, so satisfying. Even better were the times I found I was following full dialogues at almost native pace with only a few (unimportant) words or sentences skipped over.
Highly recommend to all Japanese learners.

Hi GameGengo! Awesome job with this, can't imagine how long it took to edit and make! I've always wanted to do what you do, but with Anime/Manga, I've been fluent half my life. But on my other channel, when I upload something RUclips immediately blocks it or says I get copyright issues. It kind of makes me extremely depressed because there's so many good slice-of-life anime that are great for teaching from. I even made Japanese subtitles myself, or filled up a lot of the screen with other vocab/grammar notes and many things. (Thought educational content would be allowed , but youtube is so strict with anime/manga) >.< I felt like I could even teach 10k+ words from one anime alone or something extremely ambitious. I'm really sad lol

Just found this channel and it's amazing! I'll definitely be using it. Would love to see Fire Emblem (I personally love Three Houses) and/or Kingdom Hearts!

Is there a version of this video where you play the game with the voices reading everything out without interrupting to explain things? Don't get me wrong, I like the breakdown, but it'd also be nice to have a version of just the gameplay with each line being read out to practice passive listening with.
