This is not "the last episode" of Tom and Jerry Series. This is 103rd episode of the Hannah-Barbera era (1940-1958, total number of episodes-114). A controversy was created that Tom and Jerry died and no further episodes were made. It is an urban legend. 11 episodes were created after Blue Cat Blues. Barbecue Brawl was the next in series. You can search it on Wikipedia. The truth is just that William Hannah and Joseph Barbera stopped creating episodes and focused on a different storyline. Mainly because new animation technologies were on the rise and Tom and Jerry's popularity was slowly fading away. In an interview Hannah said that "no one died due to that train hit as Tom jumped out at the last moment and Jerry was too small to get hit by that train". He is obviously joking here but then again think about it, they've been through much worse situations - got burnt, got hit by trucks and even trains, Tom got thrashed by Spike (the dog) a number of times, got hit with sticks and stones and iron utensils in the house.
