The Simpsons S18 E01 "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer"
This video originally ended with a Simpsons parody of The Godfather ending. Several years after this video got uploaded, RUclips decided that clip warranted a copyright claim. So I cut it out, and that's why the video ends so abruptly now. I am well aware of the irony.
View The Simpsons clip here, and thanks for watching: ruclips.net/video/43EnVRrWMTE/видео.html&t=45
Ironic
Oh my gosh they go so far just for these littles things don’t they.
i thought you intentionally cut it like that lmao im like "GENIUS!!"
Yeah i wondered why that was abrupt and the irony.
But i knew it was a cut because i use captions
The best ending of a film was 'The Big Night' where they just sit there, miserable.
Best way to end a movie: freeze frame
+Anonyme nooooooooooooo

Along with a "where are they now" section

Don't you forget about me !
+Anonyme Best way to end a movie: Everyone Dance!
I think Inception's ending was quite good. Shows that Cobb doesn't care if he is a dream or not anymore, he is happy.
Isaac ygunhze I definitely agree. I think the ending of Inception is one of the best endings of a film that I've ever seen (and Inception is one of my all-time favourite films). 😊
But thats kinda senseless don't ya think
I mean, it doesn't work quite well
When he's in a dream he has his wedding ring, in the end he doesn't.
The ending just makes u wanna rewatch to make sure he alive
I know its 2 years later but the ending was lazy and pretty shitty
No, its supposed to end as the protagonist blows up the antagonist with a flare gun that was hidden up his sleeve, then freezing on the explosion and having a title card appear that proclaims: mark collins, age 45, gave himself up to the authorities after the incident. he is now serving a life sentence.
After that, roll credits.
Been looking everywhere for this 😎
@@chrishansen5041 It's Bloodebts friend.
This is what I'm talking about
It broke new ground
Don't forget the upbeat ,energized, peppy music.
I always find the music played as a film ends can seriously make or break the entire film - you show me shit for 2 hours but end with Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I'm sold
I've always felt that way too.
I hope you're not referring to The Guardians of the Galaxy
flopsybun2 half and half - brilliant film but take away the soundtrack and replace it with something shitter, I highly doubt it would be so beloved
+Morgan Phillips same thing with practically every movie, soundtracks are at least 25% of the movie
That shit movie Chicken Little had "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" as the closing song, and even then it was some lame cover version.
Guardians of the Galaxy actually ended with the Jackson 5's "I Want You Back."
the ending of The Dark Knight
oh man
I feel chills just thinking about it
+TheVicenteSilva dat soundtrack
+TheVicenteSilva Oh man, oh man. Not again.
+Shane Benjamson I learned the game from Chris Nolan you can never check me xD
+TheVicenteSilva It was the ending we needed, not the ending we deserved.
_What the hell am I talking about??_
There's quite big amount of great ending shots in Christopher Nolan movies.
Every time I think of the Godfather ending I think of that Simpsons parody, thanks for including that
+Nayib Nader Early writers for The Simpsons joked that you could recreate The Godfather and The Godfather: Part II using only parody clips from The Simpsons... hmmm... that'd be a fun video to edit.
+Now You See It I heard the same about Citizen Kane.
hey someone hacked your account
Bruh, you need to get educate
Best ending:
Hey Scotty, Jesus man!
which movie?
Cheyyy it's from a 1992 movie called Second Glance. You can find a 12 second clip of the ending.
With David A.R. White?
DUUUN DUUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUUUUUuuuUUUN.

Whiplash: gradual snare drum in the beginning credits matching the solo finale at the end.
One of the greatest third acts in recent film
+supyoist an underrated and unrecognised beauty
+Fruits0000 Very good, but far from underrated. Almost universally praised
I came down here to comment this
Now that's a good f***ing movie.
The first and last shot in Birdman? You mean the same shot
hah! film jokes..
Actually, there were at least 3 cuts in Birdman. Some film analyst RUclips channel uploaded a video about it some time ago.
@Meavy Hetal
Are we even talking about the same movie? lol
@@protonjones54 Yeah but it was a joke, whoosh my guy
It's r/woooosh
I love the ending to the Shining. It seems like a "happy" ending... as happy as leaving your abusive father to die could be...but subtle clues imply that the abuse is cyclical on a small and grand scale. The more you think about that movie the more depressing it is. Also 2001: what the fuck even...
The ending to 2001 makes more sense if you read the novel.
FragMentEditing The novel is not the same canon as the book.
reek
Uhhhh...what? That made no sense. I think you meant to say the novel is not the same canon as the movie. In that case my response is:
What do you mean? They're practically identical, including the ending. The book just goes in more detail and explains everything happening at the end of the movie.
FragMentEditing Literally no Kubrick movie is the same as the book. Kubrick deliberately kept Arthur C Clark in the dark so he could do his own thing with the movie. It does not answer anything at all what so ever. The monolith isn't even alien in nature.
reek
??? Dude I have the book right here and it definitely compares quite accurately to the film. I have no clue what your issue is, maybe you came from a parallel universe or something, I don't know.
now I'm gonna force myself to watch the remake of psycho... bloody hell I'm not looking forward to it...
It's not worth it dude. It was all explained succinctly here.
+HPfrk321 It's a worthwhile experience, I would say. It's very surreal to see it done with different actors and a different creative team. First, watching the remake really makes you appreciate black and white. The stark contrast in black and white film is much more menacing. Look at the scene in the parlor. The stuffed birds are sooo much creepier in the original. Contrast just doesn't work as well in color (Film Noir is a genre that capitalizes on the contrast a LOT). Also, the new film keeps the birds slightly out of focus, while Hitchcock maintained deep focus so they were always in the frame, these menacing creatures always hovering over Norman. The modern movie makes the scenes more graphic, but where modern movies add the special effects and graphic imagery, Hitchcock instead used his stylish editing to make the audience conjure up a violent scene in their own minds! If the cuts are quick enough and assembled correctly, the audience imagines a scene scarier and more graphic than anything you could show on screen. The original is psychological manipulation, the remake is just showing you the goriest thing they can. You also appreciate how editing is a byproduct of the performances, and there's a certain timing to how clips are edited. In the remake, the editor oftentimes kept clips to the exact length as the original, whereas the original edited more freely, letting certain shots go at whatever length allowed for the best performance by the actors or gave the most inherent weight to the scene. It makes editing feel more like an art rather than a science. Finally, you realize how Norman Bates is played to a T in the original and why. The mannerisms are so natural, and it keeps the balance between finding Norman creepy and feeling sorry for him. It's such an amazing performance. Vince Vaughn tried too hard to seem creepy. Read Roger Ebert's review on it for more: www.rogerebert.com/reviews/psycho-1998
+Now You See It Sorry for the rant, I just love that the film industry gave us this case study. It's so damn interesting.
Now You See It Very good commentary. I guess watching bad movies is a learning experience, especially here in the remake because we get to see what works more effectively in comparison to the original.
+CZ It actually was pretty terrible. Just finished watching it about an hour ago. They messed up so much like the shower scene pissed me off the most. Why did they feel the need to cut away into random scenic views? Also Vince Vaughn as Norman Bates was a terrible idea he forced the acting way too much and it came off as crap rather than creepy like the original. I don't regret watching it just will never do it again.
I always love how each star wars ends with 2 minutes of just John Williams and visual story telling, either somber or celebration, culminating with a wide-shot of all the characters present and then *BOOM*, credits punch you in the guts.
+Magus Marquillin The ending of the original Star Wars (now known as ep IV) was amazing and super emotional.
Shutter Island's ending.
just amazing
One of my favorite movie endings of all time, and one that I feel is overlooked on lists and discussions on great movie endings. That slow camera pan to the lighthouse still gives me chills just thinking about it. Scorsese you sly fox you.
we gotta get off this rock chuck
I really enjoyed that film.
Exactly. Leaving you with a thought I love it
The Social Network is the most recent perfect ending shot. All characters went on to do great things, while Zuckerberg fb stalks his ex, the youngest billionaire in the world.
Totally agreed, the fade with baby you're a rich man was perfect.
+Pallab Chakraborty I literally get chills with the satisfaction. So.. Fucking.. Good.
Cinema Paradiso has one of the greatest endings ever made. Movies don’t really make me cry super hard, but that ending did. That’s how you end a movie.
The last line of Nightcrawler is a good example that excited me at the time.
I agree
Old comment but Nightcrawler is rad.
My favorite final shot is the ending of Fight Club
balls
yes, balls i agree
Is this the “I’ve only ever seen 3 movies starter pack”?
No it's the "There is a dick in the end" starter pack.
I DID GT also explosions
This channel will be very popular one day. Mark my words
+Pos Sheppard it really fucking should be, this guy's a genius
It's getting there real soon
+Pos Sheppard I'm investing in this comment.
...and here we are
Now he's got 609k subs
To this day one of my favorite movie endings is The Prestige. The absolutely perfect timing of cutting to complete black right after the reveal, right at the moment Michael Caine's monologue ends, it's just so good.
monty pythin and the search for the holy grail-
lots of meaning there guys
Edgy Teen having a big journey and then getting arrested by the police is the best ending yet
No joke though, monty python life of Brian’s ending was really top tier
1:48-1:54
If only that were true...
sad story...
Yeahhh
It does tho
It is
IDK how related to the topic this is, but the ending to Batman: Under The Red Hood gets me, every time. It ends on the best day of Jason's life, while the movie begins with the worst day of his life.
Christopher Nolan really knows how to end a movie. The non linear time twist is always genius.
My favourite ending has to be the one in Fight Club. It left me with a smile on my face and i actually wached the credits because i was too stunned to move...
sitting bull yo i 100% totally agree with u
sitting bull the dick?
at least half chubbed
Two stunted and stunned silhouettes stand tethered to each other hand-in-hand gazing out against a high rise glass permeating a nondescript metropolitan night skyline as the buildings facing immediately opposite pop with light in a sequential window dance of sporadic ignition and then implode into into a billowing cloud of crumbling anarchist poetry as a fleeting subliminal obscene image flickers "au revior".
_"You met me in a very strange time in my life"_ ((🎶"Where's My Mind" - The Pixies 👂))
Sublime
This channel just gets better and better.
+HoustonProductions1 i feel like its copying "every frame a painting"
this made me think of the ending of the shawshank redemption.
+Dries2DJM Which had an awesome Family Guy parody.
I thought of it too! I was expecting him to include it.
Me too! I was thinking how the director used a landscape shot do indicate freedom
God that last scene (with the added MUSIC) is so damn beautiful.
Its like the greatest feel-good moment of all time
I discovered you yesterday, watched all of your videos over the course of 2 hours, and then woke up today to see this. Awesome.
+Lane2045 get ready to wait mate
I just found this channel and I already know I'm gonna love it.
imma tag along with ya, let's dive right in!
Hey! You still watching Bolloxed's videos?
Ryan SpellCaster yes
I knew I knew yew
I think that David Fincher has the best endings: just think about Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac or the Social Network endings. I get chills just thinking about the Zodiac's final scene. Or the slow push-ins at the end of the Social Network.
+Ádám Angel Zodiac is such a good movie!
yea his endings usually make me stare at the screen for another 10 minutes and don't forget dragon tattoo
+Ádám Angel Zodiac's ending would've been great...if it didn't have all that stupid reading before the credits
THEPHAMTASTIC3 The Dragon Tatoo's ending was great too!
+Zeke Payne That reading is important yo
by the way that last look from norman bates shows an skull superimposed over his face as it cross fades/dissolves into the car scene.true master, hitchcock
The Searchers ending is just fantastic, I think its not just him returning to the wilderness as such, but also him turning his back and the family warmth that is happening just behind the door that closed on him.
You're one of my favorite RUclips channels, thank you for this
this channel reminds me of "every frame a painting"
shoot, I thought I was watching every frame a painting. I don't know what to believe anymore
This isn't every frame a painting? Where am I.
+Carson Tipps you're in Kansas
Played by Vancouver
We need more movie essay channels.
The last shot of Ex Machina is also smart, interesting and eerie.
Your channel, along with Channel Criswell and Every Frame A Painting, have really been an inspiration with wanting to write and create my own stories. I LOVE analyzing films on my own time, so it's awesome to see someone else doing the same. Thanks for the time and effort you take to make your videos!
I like the ending to silence of the lambs, i know you showed part of it in the video but i just like how eerie it is and the fact that the serial killer evidently missed justice, which isn't what should happen conventionally, and he isn't reformed.
I also really like the ending to clockwork orange.
3:20 Gone Girl did that perfectly
3:32 well no shit...
call me by your name had the absolute perfect ending.
timothee chalamet’s acting accompanied by Sufjan Steven’s absolutely heartbreaking yet beautiful ‘visions of gideon’ track makes for a gorgeous end.
(especially timothee breaking the third wall + the irony of elio wanting summer to end in the beginning of the movie but then the winter, which the movie ends on only brings heartbreak.)
Finally a channel that actually puts spoiler warnings and the film titles in the description
The social network ending is so damn good
Same. I hate when people criticise that film because of how much of it is misleading or just plain wrong. It doesn't bloody matter because it's not a documentary.
+Chicken Exactly. It's an entertaining movie that tells an interesting story, true or not. Same with Amadeus.
yea Because he's sitting on top of his throne as the youngest billionaire but still feels empty
god, the subtle differences in the beginning and ending of Gone Girl was so perfect
I genuinely love the original and thought provoking content on this channel.
Hey, just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos. As an amateur filmmaker myself, I think its really cool see all the behind the scenes stuff from these movies. The videos that you make inspire me to keep creating and doing what I love. Keep up the good work!
The final scene in "The Third Man" is a great ending too. Perfect for such a good movie
I just found your channel. Absolutely brilliant.
Now you see it!
this is a channel that is worth the 1 month waiting for a new video
please don't stop making videos, they are excellent
Surprised the ending for The Graduate wasn't mentioned in the video or comment section.
PJ favorite movie ending ever
PULP FICTION
aah. thats a good one.
The ending scene was absolutely brilliant.
Fight club too
Inglorious Basterds with Morricone's music kicking in
You are by no means a big RUclips Channel. But let me tell you that I watch your content with great delight. Thanks a lot
why do i have a feeling this channel is going to grow so much
For those bitching about spoilers, there was ONE recent movie. All those other movies are classic films, if you haven't seen shit from 2009 you can't be upset about spoilers in a video that comes out 7 years later
I love this channel so much
very well done video. This makes me think a lot more about how I have ended previous video projects.
I love how you talked about movie endings without actually spoiling any of the movies you cited
The beginning/ending of Inside Llewyn Davis is really beautiful. And once you've seen the film, it really only echoes the sorrow of the entire film. sO GOOD
Another amazing video! Keep it up!
GREAT video!!! Watching videos like this makes me love filmmaking even more! Thank you for making it!
dude... you got nearly 100.000 Subs:totally earned that.Keep on the great work
I swear upright bass is the best background instrument for any type of commentary.
I disagree that it is the best for any type of commentary.
George Hamilton I accept your differences.
***** Alright, thank you, but I think that I can convince you otherwise. Do you think that for a commentary on pianos, upright bass would be the best music?
George Hamilton Yes.
***** Wow, alright.
you should do a video on the effect of color filters in movies. like how in the matrix, the matrix has a green tint while the real world has no tint
I think one of my favorite endings to a film is the end of Black Hawk Down. The C-130 rear door closing on the shot of all the caskets. It's an ending that has stuck with me and reverberates when I see other films. It's a variation on the closing door but one that lends more weight to it in my opinion.
Great video.
That subtle cut to the skull in between Bates' smile and the car is insane
Man I love your videos.
Some movie endings which really stood out for me were (in no particular order, and probably missing many others): The 25th Hour, Gattaca, Dead Man, The Royal Tenenbaums, Moonrise Kingdom, Winter's Bone, Lord of War and The Big Lebowski. Other really good endings (not in movies): The Wire, Scrubs, True Detective (S1), The Office, Breaking Bad, Cowboy Bebop.
+Now You See It You just earned a subscriber. That ending with The Simpsons was perfect, I also thought of it when you talked about Godfather.
Hateful Eight had one of my favorite all time endings, the music fit as well.
The Simpsons version of "Cape Fear" with Sideshow Bob is one of the best episodes.
+DarkVortex42 God that was a funny episode......BART DO YOU WANT TO SEE MY NEW CHAINSAW AND HOCKEY MASK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How's there not even a word about inception
When i remember that ending i get chills
the social network ending is just so perfect
That was a really cool ending to the video, well done.
Video about endings: doesn't have an ending
i was about to say that haha
What about "No Country For Old Men" ending?
You're almost at 100 000!! Oh, and great video btw :)
ever since I saw call me by your name I can’t get the ending out of my head. I think that’s the best one i’ve ever seen
god damn i never thought of it as being reentered into the real world, but you're damn right
Now you see it
Once Upon A Time In The West is one of my favourites with the train arriving and the anti-hero riding off, signifying the end of an era. Jill belongs in the new age; Harmonica doesn't.
I am learning so much by watching your videos. Thank you
Top notch stuff here.
Well done.
im curious of what you might think of the ending for A Clockwork Orange
"Because I love The Simpsons" HAHAHAHA best scene
+Daniel dos Santos if you are over 20, you have found memories of Simpsons. If you grew up after the writers leaving for Futurama... not so much
This was great, see you again in two months
your videos are always brilliant, engaging, and informative. kudos!
No Country for Old Men is a subject in my recommended videos. Absolutely loved that film. The enemy still remains, even if it is not the real enemy, but sheds light of how life can turn out majority of the time. There is no real winner if the definition is defined by one's own perception of personal gain.
ehill1536 He never spared his last victim.
Not sure why I thought that he did. Edited.
I love the ending in Fight Club, put a smile on my mmmm
"With a gun barrel between your teeth, you speak only in vowels"

I feel like every video of you is a mind blow. I'm so happy I have found this channel, your videos are very interesting. :)
*mark collins, age 45, gave himself up to the authorities after the incident. he is now serving a life sentence.*
Hey, nice video. What episode of The Simpsons is this?
+jktomas S18 E01 "The Mook, the Chef, the Wife and Her Homer"
+Now You See It wow, the title is also a reference but for another film!
must be a newer episode cause the joke goes on way too long
Michael Mann's The Insider did the 'walking off into the sunset' 'closing the door' brilliantly, except it was two closing doors: Plummer back to his job, Pacino leaving his and out into the world. It was perfect and made sense, as it resolved both character's story arcs and released the heightened tension throughout the film. Using Massive Attack's Safe From Harm slowly fading in made it all the better.
great video, i really love your work!
Best ending:
"Boo...?"
"Kitty?"
I love that Gus Van Sant got to create an experiment as to why shot-for-shot remakes are garbage on the studios dime
The best ending (and also best film for me personally) is Call me by your name! The mixture of the genius music and Elio looking in the camera is just an emotional masterpiece :)
This channel is a gift!!!
I really liked Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade because at the time it was the last of its series, they left it open ended for continuous movies of the series which happened in 2008.... Now ride off into the sunset endings are not the way I feel film directors should go but it is a very safe route to go into when taking into account happiness factor of the audience and whether or not they think a film should be open ended.
The best way to end a film is with a giant dance party that features a relevant pop song
I’m joking btw
Shrek
Dope video. I saw another video about the symmetry of opening and closing shots. Great filmmakers kno how to do them
The last shot of "A Serious Man" is one of my favorite endings. Thd film ends without it ending, but it feels over - unlike a cliff hanger - though it is still open to interpretation
