Those girls were the "sisters in law" of the groom... That's why they where calling ashish "jijaji"... Subtitles didn't do justice. And they were asking for money because there's a ritual where sisters in law of the groom steal the groom's shoes and then ask for money to give them back. This ritual is called " joota churai". It's just a fun thing..

They were asking money as kind of extortion which is also a ritual, like sister in laws will steal your shoes, hide them and unless you give them money they wont return you the shoes, and without shoes the marriage doesn't resume.. 😅 Its a fun thing..i may have sounded like a goon here, haha
-Camera guy is exaggerated but yea, they are obsessed with recording MEN while eating.. 😅 And in middle class wedding they hire really crappy recorders/in experienced they just shove the camera in the face of people, so that was that.
-Please have food before leaving - in indian wedding you cant leave without having food, its that kind of lovely hospitality!.. You need not need to bring gifts for wedding but have food!
The family of bride and bridegroom really forces you to have food out of love!.. Its kindof disrespect if you dont!.. No matter how much in hurry you are, you gotta have have something!
Criticizer uncle is real deal though- they are everywhere in every wedding!!..and its one of the reason for showoff weddings, high expenditure on wedding feeding some far off relatives! Who dont even really know u nor u know them!, this obsession is real here in india, and it spread like disease soon making middle class man spend his/her two or three year's worth salary on 1 day wedding! Just to please some people!

The girls asking money is a custom. The bride's sisters steal the shoes of the groom, and the groom has to buy them back from them. I think Thailand has something similar, where u dont let the groom enter till u pay the bride's friends.
