No body here in the IRA. What Lez,Eug R IRA so what r u calling me ? I wouldn't want to be in the IRA, it's a rigged system between the higher powers wanting to divide and conquer. Would've joined in my 20s but I was a different person and I would be dead like most of the relatives. Yeah Marty I like me some funk guitar. I like Earth Wind and Fire, Brothers Johnson, Kool & The Gang, The Commodores, etc. I have another style to try and emulate on a Metal Guitar like the Jackson JS22 I own. Yeah I agree with you funk and blues come out sounding similar. I think funk comes out more upbeat but it depends.
Hey Marty thanks for taking time to do the live streams. What do you think about the gretsch with the Bixby tail piece for the funk sounds? Too much or hard to get slipped in? Or just more texture
For this kind of rythm... A Stratocaster (pickup switch in neck and middle pickup position, and both pickups with its two tone knobs in middle position) has that touch that I love for funk music and I miss in this video (although Gibsons may do great things too [yeah, as for example, in What Is Hip? by Tower of Power, and those other classic recordings released by James Brown... but I love Hendrix sound in Wait Until Tomorrow, Ain't No Tellin' or You Got Me Floatin'])

Hey Marty I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this but I would love if you did a tutorial for Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce. It’s by far one of my favorites and still after 5 years of playing I don’t know how to play it.
Hey I like Jim Croce too and Time In A Bottle is a beautiful song. I know his hits and Bad Leroy Brown is one of his best upbeat tunes. Marty may just do a lesson on how to play The In a Bottle but it's acoustic. I don't have an acoustic guitar but I may get a decent one later on.
