Avevo 15 anni e questa canzone accompagnava i miei pomeriggi di studio. La solitudine non mi pesava...
Ne avevo 19 e la ballavo in dancing. Un lento con una musica struggente. Guancia a guancia con il suo dolce profumo. Inoltre è un brano lunghissimo e ne eravamo molto felici. Girare girare sulla stessa mattonella guardarsi e.....a volte ci scappava anche un bacio. Tempi indimenticabili.
E io avevo 14 anni in quel tempo. Questo bravo mi faceva impazzire. All By Myself è veramente un grande capolavoro.

This is such a monumental work of art. Doesn’t get any better than this. I can’t imagine the time it took to score all of this for the players, the rehearsal, and mastering the nuances. Brilliant. So glad we have this for posterity. One of my favorite songs/albums of all time. I still sing “… and when I dial the telephone … nobody’s home …” in my head every time I have to leave a voicemail. Thank-you, Eric!

In 1975 I was nine years old and my mother died suddenly of an undiagnosed brain tumor. I remember finding her lifeless body in her bedroom after coming in from playing outside (kids did that back then). This song was playing on the radio and I always associated this song with her death. My father had died three years earlier and I remember saying to myself I don't know what I'll do if my mother dies, only for it to become a reality a short time later. This song has always reminded me of that afternoon in 1975 when my life changed forever.
