I made a similar pub shed at the end of my garden much to my wife’s anger.
Fast forward a year and I now live in it full time, since my wife moved the builder in to our marital home. I now drink beer in the shed and watch the house..anyway, beers good...so every cloud.

Hi Mark....... first of all, this is my first ever post on ANY social media platform! .... I also love the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany......AND their beers. I regularly visit the Netherlands (near Alphen) and a rough guess leads me to believe that you may have liked to have seen The Jam with me for the first time in 1978 on their All Mod Cons tour? Anyway, I recently discovered your channel when I was looking for ideas for making a German/Belgium themed bar in my Log Cabin.... which I’ve just finished..... I love your channel and you’ve inspired me to dive into loads of new Belgium stuff... St Feullien... De Garre... Westvleteren etc. I’ve really enjoyed your Friday quiz and chat sitting in my new Pub Shed.... although I work Friday evening, so am hoping this will be moved as you have hinted. I’m also a lover of the Orkneys and the genius they call Rob Hill from the Swannay Brewery. Scapa Special is of course..... Special amongst others but I wonder if you have ever tried Muckle... which means BIG? I’d be interested to see your review. I’m happy to send you some if you let me know how to go about it. Keep up the great work..... I love it, regards, Alan.

Fair play mate good video got some good ideals from your bar. I do like the corner seating area but Ive built a garden bar shed on the back of my house with help from a friend and it’s not cost me nowhere near what you have spent or said. I’m approximately £1500 in and still got work to do and I’d say another £1000 to go. I e even got bar taps with kegs that need setting up

Hiya ‘Bier Hooligan’ some great tips in there so thanks very much for sharing and hope you can help me out with bit of advice on this please? We have a holiday home in Ireland and already have done foundation (concrete raft) which was intended for a 4.5m x 2.5m garage BUT we then decided we’d never use a “garage” as such, hence we’re now gonna do a pub as think it would go down a treat with holiday bookers. Now... the one big downer in West if Ireland is the weather (as the Irish would say “it’s always raining except when it’s not” 🤣). I’m wondering about the longevity of wood over there and wondering if it would stand the test of time with the weather OR..whether we should still build it with concrete blocks as originally planned, then we could insulate and do electrics etc then clad over the inside? What are your thoughts on the log cabin with damper climate?

We are planning one in our garden as we have a big space but don’t use the garden at apart from the odd BBQ - I’d normally have a go at building one myself but think I’ll have to get some help as I am disabled now so restricted .... plus wanting it to be about 6m x 4.5m so the more hands the better (family hopefully as they’ll benefit from it). I forget sometimes how small the average persons garden is. I am lucky to have over an acre. I will be building a massive bar with pool table, darts, bandits etc. I already have a 80 plus sq/m workshop but don't want to mix work with pleasure. Severe accident offshore has left me a bit broken but once I am capable I will mill the wood I require and get it built. If my payout is big enough I might just buy a bar !!!!
P.S. I grew up in a council flat and then a council house with a postage stamp garden so I know small houses and gardens.

Do you prefer the Sub or the PerfectDraft? I moved to Germany and I miss having Stella and Hoegaarden, really tempted to grab a PerfectDraft (Also I love Kwac and Diekirch).
Is the PerfectDraft a fuss to own? What do you do with Empty kegs? I heard you can send them back, but doesn't that cost an arm and a leg in postage?
Edit: Also, loving the Franziskaner sign on the wall! Just having one now, at least I can buy them here really easily!

@@TheBierHooligan thanks for the advice, yeah it's pretty much all Belgian beers I'd be getting it for (apart from diekirch which I think is luxembourgish) so I guess I'm better off looking at another method. I don't see any of these beers in the shops or bars over here though unfortunately. It's all just German beers. Not a terrible situation to be in because German beers are ace but still would be nice to have other options.

I built one from a 14' x 8' summerhouse, which is made from pressure treated log lap, and 3" x 2" spars, fully insulated and hidden electrics, boarded out with 9 mm Ply, and papered in red brick and Blue washed Planking, flooring is dark oak laminate, electric fire for decoration only, heated with Chinese diesel blown air heater, Lighting was made by my son consists of 6 Kilner Jars with incandescant bulbs, i made the bar pub table from an old pallet, and the bar from cheap pinewood from the local timber merchant, under bar is a samsung chest freezer, controlled with a stc 1000 temp controller, which contains 3 19 litre kegs of draught homebrewed beer, 42" lcd tv, i love it, it is called the white dog inn, the summerhouse cost £1250 + £90 for delivery and erection.

    Long comment sorry! :D
It began with me wanting a new shed. I wanted to get a bit of privacy in the garden, and a shed seemed like both a good way to achieve it, whilst also providing some utility.
Then I decided that a summer house might be more useful than a shed, especially as I have a garage which I don't keep a car in for storage. The cost wasn't that much more than the shed.
Then I saw log cabins, and I was sold. They just seem a lot more substantial than either a shed or a summer house.
So that is on my agenda, unfortunately I don't think I can stretch to all the nice extras you have here due to added cost (for now). I figure it might be worth setting a good foundation though if I decide I do want to make a pub shed out of it in the future.
    Some questions for you sir:
What extras did you get with your log cabin build? You mentioned double glazing. If you were to spec one up on the website now, what extras would you be enabling on the builder?
How does it hold up in winter for temperature? Do you have a heating or cooling solution for the colder/warmer months?
Do your costs include a decent concrete base? Looks like it will be around £500-£600 for a decent quality concrete base (10ft x 8ft) here in the south.
How did you contact them about your requested customisations?
Would the delivered components fit through a single door OK? I have a garage with a door into the rear garden for access.
Edit - almost forgot - What did you use for the finishes for the external walls, window frames etc?

Hi John, love what you've done here! Was just wondering where you got the actual bar from? (or did you make it yourself?) and the seating? Trying to find a decent bar to put in mine!
