You know who's the winner? All of the RC enthusiasts! The more choices the better. The Vigilante looks like it's doing very well so far. Thanks Thunder! And let's be real, almost NO ONE will be sending ANY of their RC vehicles that high ever. And I've had crashes with the K8S and O8S like the ones on this video (while the Vigilante was beings driven). Those two vehicles didn't survive 😂

I didn't say anything at the moment, but she said she have some kind of phobia... now I understand why some people doesn't like the thunder's sounds. Doing those jumps, most people would have 2 dead trucks. Thunder is a very skilled driver, and it shows! As was said at the end, "time will tell". Probably in the next video....lol

You might consider using thicker center diff fluid.
Do you have the Raminator "mud tires?" Might look cool on the Vigilante due to it's long wheelbase.

thanks bro! appreciate it. I have stock motor with a hobby wing max 6 esc, 20-50 gearing, stock weights in all diffs I keep the truck light, not a whole lot of metal. I also use light tires like the Traxxas Sledgehammers. 💯💯

It sounds like either the diff is stripping or your gear mesh on the motor is too tight on the redcat

Thunder!!! What’s the best RC around or under $1000? I know all RCs need a couple upgrades and tweaks but something that’ll handle some mild skate park bashing and some flips without needing constant work or an immediate $200 chassis upgrade

Vigilante is earning its stripes nicely here! The body being the same Chev as the Clodbuster is great for us old nostalgics, and even if the sintered metal diffs of the redcat are not the strongest, enough of these will sell for a hardened machined steel powertrain to be manufactured. Looks like a winner.

How was you able to gear up so much on that motor mount of the vigilante?
you have to remove one motor mount screw on the top of the sliding motor mount to allow enough space for proper gear mesh, which leaves you two screws and it seems to hold up! ⚡⚡
Thicker center fluid still, any temp concerns with that combo geared up? I thought for sure it’d need a Max6G2/5690 for enough punch. 👍🏼 Bash
So my main objective was getting this video out quickly and I didn’t have time to play with the diffs. So far I haven’t had any overheating issues with this gearing, I will be getting to the differential soon.

That Redcat is a beautiful looking rig. Looks really tough so far. That old school truck body is great looking. I know some folks would buy it just for the looks. Lol, if I sent an almost $900 rig off of a ramp like that my Wife would smack me!

Could you tell me how you was able to gear up to 23t pinion, did you have to do any modifications?
So all I really had to do was take the motor mount off and take the little spur, Geer plastic cover thing off and mount it. That way it does fit but half of the plastic spur cover doesn’t fit anymore so you can actually see the pinion gear sticking out of the truck. Works just fine though.
Could you please post a link where you purchased the 23tooth pinion? Either I can’t find one or I’m looking in the wrong place

Something definitely sounded of with the gearing toward the middle, but I am now a believer and will be putting my order in. I do want to see how well that thing takes to mods though. Esc’s, Motors, servos, etc. I already know after watching “exocaged” channel that after putting them HW 1250KV motor it tore up the diffs, but I really want to see that thing on a Max4 with the 800KV combo on 12S. But aside from the diffs I am pretty sure somebody will need to come out with a different motor mount to accommodate for the gearing for a motor/esc combo like that.
I wonder if because exo didn’t fill the diffs , this noise here I’ve seen xxmax do also on earlmooreheads channel . I have bashers thinking picking up the rock Rey for 600 I can use the 790 kv in 8s outcast because mine was little under powered but if I don’t grab the Losi i grab the Chevy

Vitavon, Schorched, M2C, etc, hell, even Hot Racing or Treal for that matter. I don’t run toys. I build monsters and then beat the ever loving shit out of them.
