- NEW 2023 Cobra KING TOUR THE IRON FOR ALL GOLFERS and yes I honestly think this could be one of the Best All Round Irons in Golf. It may well have the perfect blend of Looks, Feel, Performance and Forgiveness. Just enough TECH in the head to increase its Forgiveness levels over that of the smaller MB and CB models, but not too much that it spoils the look and feel of the strike.

Great video! Very thoroughly done.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Thanks for the review of the 3 Cobra irons. I really enjoyed it. I purchased the 2023 King MB (and CB for the 4 and 3 iron) in the Spring and I indeed noticed how forgiving it is for a blade. Your analysis confirms my recent experience.
Cobra King Tour Irons are extremely good and usually over looked by most golfers. King Tours were able to give me the height and spin I need to hold greens even with longer irons. Mizuno Pro243, srixon Zx7 mkii, titliest T150, and etc just couldn’t give me the height/spin I was looking for. The cobra king tour iron is really forgiving too for the players style design!. I’m a medium handicap and these clubs give me plenty of confidence to play them.
Cobra has really stepped up their iron game these last couple seasons and these new king tour irons are no exception just beautiful irons. I’m currently gaming the 2023 CB 3,4,5,6 and MB 7,8,9,PW and just love them! 🙂👍🏼⛳️
These would be in the wheelhouse for so many more players than the MB or CB. What a great looking and performing iron Cobra have made. Thanks for your excellent in depth reviews of their line-up Jay
As a mizuno 223 player, I hit these cobras at my local golf store this last sunday and they were very good! Not as good as my 223s but really close. Felt good too.
Jay, to say that I am impressed with the Cobra is an understatement. I would like you to tell me how the Sub 70 TC and MB perform, especially compared to the Cobras. I am interested in potentially changing irons and half price is...half price. BTW love you using an actual hole on the beginning.
I game these and I can confirm they are very forgiving in the heel which is my miss. I’ve never been a cobra fan (in fact I’ve always disliked them) but these sold me.
I bought a king tour fitting club off ebay a couple months ago and hit a couple thousand balls with it and it felt really good. The sound and feel was really nice and they where pretty forgiving and had great control. Having said that I ended up getting i230's. I just hit the i230 a little better and consistent. The only downside to me is the i230 doesn't have the same feel as the tour, its not a huge difference but its noticeable. I also wasn't a big Ping fan but the i230's changed my mind lol
Hit everything in this category and the Cobras were by far my favorite. I went in wanting Mizuno 223s or Srixon ZX7s and came out with the King Tours
Not a bad decision 👍 always go with what works the best regardless of the badge it comes with and how that may feel that perceived 👍👍
Love these irons!
Cobra really hitting it out of the park with it's irons. Performance, Forgiveness and Looks all in one 👍🏻
Could be the replacement for my MP53's😁 I love the look of these.
Played by Rickie Fowler on the PGA Tour!
He's been playing pretty well with them 👍
I game the Cobra MIM irons, this looks a lot like the MIM. Love my clubs according to the lofts these are 1 degree stronger, my 7 is 31 degree this is 32 degree, basically the same club.
Your MIM 7 iron is 33 degrees, unless you ordered them 2 degrees strong.. :)
@@LarsThingholm just checked actually your right, my forged tec 7 was 31, mixed that up😂
@AskGolfNut What irons between these King Tours and the Ping i230's would you say are more forgiving? And which do you prefer?
I like the smaller blade. Could a low handicapper with a high 70s swing speed game these. Could you blend them with the Forged Tec? Thanks, Ric
Could very much do and also they may work better than the Forged Tec due to the weaker lofts. Your swing speed should still be high enough to see a benefit going to Forged Tec but just be careful and wary of the peak height and descent angles as the loft comes off 👍🏻
Thanks for the review. What would the comparison of forgiveness between the Tour and the Forged Tec be?
Forged Tec will like for like loft be more forgiving than the Tour, you could very well see players blending the Forged Tec and the Tour with a little adjustment here and there and would make a brilliant blended set of irons 👍
Hi Jay, I am a 63 year old 4.4 hcap golfer. I swing a 7 iron at 75mph. Can I play these irons ? Regards, Nick
Hi Nick, thanks for reaching out... At your swing speed, the Cobra King Tour irons are one of the very best in its class and work very well compared to others at your swing speed 👍🏻
Did you ever hit the Cobra MIM Tour irons, how would they compare to these?
Seems like it is more heel-biased, even with the slot, according to Maltby MPF. That's weird but it may increase workability.
Did you ever do a review on the previous version of this club? The MIM.
I didn't as I have only recently really reached out to Cobra in a media partnership capacity. I have hit the previous model and although the are differences the new ones are slightly improved, but the differences in all honesty are small. I wouldn't suggest that someone with the old irons runs out straightaway to the nearest Fitting location to replace them 🙂 they will be fine for a few more years. If you are coming from irons older than those then I would say its very worth while giving them a test 👍
do a comparison with the mim tours
Am always interested in what shaft you are hitting..
KBS $ TAPER 120g Stiff 👍
How would you compare the forgiveness and feel vs i230?
To me these feel better than i230 but i230 is more forgiving. i230 turf interaction didn’t work me as I would bounce into the ball but Tours are great.
Hi do cobra irons by default have a more vertical lie?
Their lie angles directly compared to say Mizuno are standard more Upright yes. All brands differ so I always make it a point to look at each golf clubs standard before looking to choose what spec you require 👍🏻
How do they compare to P770 in terms of forgiveness?
I'd possibly actually put it slightly ahead of the P770 but marginally. Especially good from the heel if I recall correctly 👍🏻
How does the forgiveness compare to the ping i230?
Hard one that, they are pretty darn close. If I tested them together it may go either way 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut that would definitely be an interesting forgiveness review
Would this be comparable to the Mizuno Pro 225?
More so the 223, currently working on the video compare between them 👍
47 degré on the green for a 7 iron... is it the player or the club?
This could be the first iron that has ever tempted me to switch from playing Mizuno for 35 yrs
Well worth a test. Just currently doing the Pro 223 vs the Tour and is already very interesting...... 👍
Will certainly be having a look at them on my travels.
Have JPX 921 but look chunky behind the ball.
@@AskGolfNut vs. Pro 223 or are they more like the Pro 225’s?
Forged Tec is more like the Pro 225.....will be getting them soon and will of course do the full in depth review and relevant comparisons 👍👍
