  • The Cala Gonone aquarium is the largest and most modern aquarium in Sardinia.
Created in 2010 in the coastal village of Dorgali, it offers 24 exhibition tanks set from the banks to the depths of the sea, passing through rocky coasts and open sea.
They are a representation of the main marine habitats of the Mediterranean: you can come across trumpet fish, sea goats and lobsters, observe the camouflage skills of the cuttlefish and octopus, enter the dark dens and other spectacular environments of the Gulf of Orosei.
The most exciting tank is the tactile one, where you can caress the docile races without frightening them and you can touch small kittens, hedgehogs, starfish and hermit crabs.
    A unique and unforgettable experience!
Mediterranean and more: in the first tank, unique of fresh water, you will see the voracious piranhas and in the pools of tropical seas and admire species with amazing shapes and bright colors that live in coral reefs, including clown fish and their anemones.
The open sea pool is the largest, both naturally and artificially illuminated to represent the kingdom of large pelagic fish such as amberjack, tuna and a small but disturbing dogfish shark.
There is no shortage of luminescent jellyfish that can be carried away by the sea current.
In one of the darkest basins the columnar basalt with a landslide is reproduced, an ideal den for conger eels, moray eels and scorpion fish.
If you are in the area of Cala Gonone do not miss to visit this aquarium, small but well organized, a pearl of Sardinia.
