well dwarf fortress started the whole ui thing about colony sims and this game looks much more like rimworld than rimworld looks like PA, they didnt even try to relocate the ui its literally the same and even have the same info/notification thing on the right, if i didnt play rimworld i'd think this is some medieval dlc for it

hurting each other in training gives me traumatic flashbacks to my ill-fated dwarf fortress training dungeons my worst one wasnt even from them hurting each other, it was because i placed a well in the barracks and dwarves kept dodging into it and falling to their deaths
Wife is having an affair with the brother right after her rescue. Got the brother married to a lord's daughter and she is having affair with the MC. Meanwhile, they gamble like crazy and lose rings or win them, causing envy. And the gossip, ack......
Town management is pretty fun initially but gets tedious as the town grows. The combat is way too wonky and RNG-based, the fighting skill level doesn't seem to affect anything, weapons are way too likely to break, and sometimes you can see a naked guy survives multiple attacks while the heavily armored ones get one-shotted. In conclusion, the game still needs some improvements to be enjoyable.
thankfully, the developers are really good at listening to what the players want. A lot of what you just mentioned have supposedly been improved in the last patch.
I did good for 13 days of the demo. Everything was fine, steadily growing, married brother off and he had a kid on the way. Day 14 I had to appoint my wife as heir because she had negative loyalty. Brother was not happy. So on day 15 after I thought it was fine with wife, I reappointed him as heir. Still had murderous desires. My daughter was born. Had to send brother on diplomatic and war journeys. He came back after his own daughter was born. He immediately tried to murder me. MC was in war with his brother. After he won, brother's wife rallied her troops and he was exiled. Now I had a large ish town, a lot of things to be managed, and only two adult ladies. They managed to get to day 20 like that, although a bit stressed. Didn't force them to remarry and just had 4 women. The wives had better stats anyway
I'll interject a comment. Pawns appear to age slowly in RimWorld because time passes so slowly if you're stuck micromanaging literally everything all the time. Looking at Majesty 2 and Norland where npcs handle their own needs and wants by default means time passes more fluidly without the game being permanently on pause. Months and years can pass while pawns learn skills and life their little digital lives. Watching this to ruin RimWorld with its ludicrous commune economy that means pawns have very little ownership of anything and no agency. Where giving them money, taxing them, and trading their labor as work as products or services to other factions and settlements keeps things moving and fluid.
Noona means big sister in Korean, but Nona is Latin in origin and means "ninth"! Yes I am right at the start of the video lol, looking forward to watching the rest :)
In my first play-through, right after I saved my queen I had a guest duel and kill both my king and a guest lol. I was surprised to learn that you can't then marry the brother to the widowed queen. Something they should implement I think (unless I missed it somehow).

RimWorld is vastly bigger when you consider game altering mods like empire and Rimnauts. IF Norland has similar community participation foremostly to add modern and spacer type themes great. Being stuck in this time period will get old (for me anyway).

i played alot of frostpunk rimworld and dwarf fortress.Tried this last night, was so excited for this game.. i liked the art style but got bored very quickly. alot is happening but it doesnt hold my interest. i ended up just doing things to see what happens not caring of the outcome. traders show up far to often. do the peasants work the fields then buy the produce they make from the markets??? so you pay them to work the fields then buy food so ur at a constant loss? if rimworld had atleast one or two Z levels. doors and levers. and water physics id never play anything else
I don't know who "tax_evasion gaming" is, but if it was somehow possible to prevent them from flooding your videos with random bullshit, that would be really neat.

But when some random shit flashes almost nonstop throughout the video, it's super distracting. There are ways to support the authors directly even without annoying others with the nonsense messages. I kinda get it during certain livestreams, because there can be back&forth with the viewers. But if it's technically possible i'd prefer not seeing it in the recorded videos. It has great potential hopefully they'd tweak the combat later on, make buildings rotatable, and add more warcrimes. As of now it's doesn't have that same impact as Rimworld did even before the DLCs and mods and I get that they're trying to be original and maintain their own style but as of now the whole thing feels just like Banished with combat and character micromanagement. It gets tedious at some point but boy once they fix and improve this game it'd be another countless hours of my life I'll be glad to waste.

Developers across the board have been terrible about optimization. They have moved the goal post for GPU standards to a standard of 12g of VRAM practically regardless of what their recommended specs say.
I also imagine this game is a single CPU core game, without ALOT of background math taking place all the time. Higher CPU clock speeds are going to benefit you more than GPU or RAM. Thats the experience with both Kenshi and Rimworld as I expand my bases. I play Rimworld with tons of mods to I run rocket man in the background. It basically increases the time check for the status of entities so there is less math taking place in the background. Its also the reason Rimthreaded is a fairly populatmre mod for Rimworld. It allows the bath to be done asynchronously across multiple cores, instead of being done more linearly across one core.
A little too late of a comment but you say the fertility in this game is high? My characters don't have any fertility debuff and had to sleep like together for like, 5 times before the queen got pregnant...then she miscarried at birthing😭 My King & Queen was basically elderly by the time they have a single child, and my Queen get menopause a few years after. My brother and his wife also fail to produce a child before they got too old. But I was *way* better financially and gameplay-wise (?) than you. All of your points about the game, are true, I can see that, but I think it’s just you didn’t get good luck or know how to manage yet. But maybe *I* am the one getting lucky here cuz I’ve never played this type of game before and it was only my second run but I already got most buildings unlocked and financially and military wise great. Your 7 days progress was my 3 days progress, I think. Then again I was really keen on reading... I did not teach my lords anything, I just utilized their skills and only focus on training the next-gen and getting everything done before my current gen inevitably dies. But then again, I MAY have trouble later with only two lords, which are currently kids right now. One was the King & Queen’s child but one was a random bastard from a soldier and I have no idea how she was conceived and who’s her dad(literally have no relationship with a male parent). But hey, free character AND she’s unrelated to my King’s lineage
I dont understand peoples complaints about micromanagement in this game and Rimworld. Its not micromanagement, its immersion in your pawns lives. They arent city builders or 4x games. I only play Rimworld and colony managers or games like Kenshi BECAUSE you can have the indepth immersion and more micro if you want. I dont want a colony manager where your citizens are just an automated sprite with 0 personality.

you might wanna give 'going medieval' a try. From what I've seen, it's basically 3d Rimworld with many z-levels

One was the King & Queen’s child but one was a random bastard from a soldier and I have no idea how she was conceived and who’s her dad(literally have no relationship with a male parent). I dont understand peoples complaints about micromanagement in this game and Rimworld. Its not micromanagement, its immersion in your pawns lives. They arent city builders or 4x games. I only play Rimworld and colony managers or games like Kenshi BECAUSE you can have the indepth immersion and more micro if you want. I dont want a colony manager where your citizens are just an automated sprite with 0 personality.
