I'm always impressed when you show a, "simple job" that is beyond most of us watching... ...a bit of a flex at what hard jobs you are capable of😀👍 I would love to be able to do a fraction of the work you Gentlemen do!
Would love that on my car, even though it's a 4X4 Hilux, only problem is it isn't lockable. fuel theft is already a big problem, gonna get even bigger in future with prices rising.
Another one of those simple but cool things you come up with. I had many vehicles over the years that those pop-ups would have been cool on. I am old enough to remember dropping the license plate on a 60's car to fill it up. Thankfully it was not mine. I preferred late 60's very early 70's Pontiacs back in the day. Nice job as usual.
Hey, thanks.... Next time I need to install a pop-up gas cap.... Of course in an emergency situation..... I'll know how to do it and probably save lives. So vicariously you will be saving lives with this video. Nice job Brandon 🤘🤘
I've installed them on a few of the custom bikes I've built over the years. I'm surprised the same caps are still available 20 years later.Hey, Brandon, on the Cuda for Matt, get a look at SULASTIC Shocks for him, could ya? They will take a lot of the beating out of the leaf springs and not affect load capacity at all.
Love the video!!! That gas cap is a thing of beauty!! The only thing it needs is a chain to retain it so it doesn't get dropped everyone other week and need to be repainted!! 😋 Have a great week!!
I wish I could afford to have you build me a 55 chevy, but hey I will just keep dreaming. my Grandpa bought a 32 and he gave it to me and I PASSED it down to my son, all the running gear done with new modern chassis, motor tranny, rear end and is at the body shop now, and no chop top
Would be intresting to design a chain or something that stops the cap from falling. Just imagine having that cap with a paint chip cause by accident you dropped it.
You need to put a metal link chain in the middle of the inside of the cap that can rotate with the cap so that customers can pop off their gas caps & not have the problem of putting the cap in their pocket or on their car to be stolen or forgotten about. If a customer forgets to put the cap back on & drives away it will rattle so much that it will make the customer stop to see what is wrong but they won't lose it down the highway somewhere.
Hi Brandon, Cool cap. Nice work. Just curious...how do you decide whether to use mig vs. tig on this? Since there is no cap tether, can a magnet be used to keep track of it while filling up? Thanks, Darryl
I dont think anyone would want a magnet on it so they can stick it on their expensive paint job. These cars are expensive and mostly show cars so i doubt the owner would lose track of the cap.
I've istalled few of that kind as well. Founded that bike caps are "breather" all, as can be seen on yo ur video. Small hope under the O-ring. Meaning that they leak fuel on acceleration. Tryed to find non-breath ones but no luck. And why do you use mig and not tig?
No. I don't remember in the 60's and 70's when I was pumping gas how difficult it was pumping gas with the filler neck behind the license plate. Maybe we were tougher or not as lazy. That just looks like a pain in the ass. Like losing the cap.
Can we get more of the videos about other shop projects like this please? The demo cuda is cool, but you're not showing your best work in my opinion 🤞🤞
@@65cj55 yep, its not like these fancy cars are gonna be daily driven back and forth to their 9 to 5 jobs and need filled up 2 or 3 times a week. A few might be driven more than others but these arent cheap restorations and when someone spends this kind of money, they are kinda known for being super careful with them.
one would have to be either handi-capable or drunk to lose a fuel cap. Trust me, I am a bit of both and am yet to lose a fuel cap. Keys, my house, my license, at one point my freedom,... sure lost all that shit but never a fuel cap. 😏
where is it gonna go if they drop it? Its not like they are filling the gas tank on a boat dock or something. If they drop it, thery will simply bend over and pick it up just like any regular cap gets picked up.
I don't know why factories put the gas cap inside the back fender like that Whoever designed it must have not been thinking very straight If you get rear end by another car You know fuel pour out
I am totally disappointed…. You said you were going to make more videos…. What has happened??? I enjoyed everything you put out but I don’t understand why you haven’t done what you said…
Who would have thought something as simple as a gas cap could be such a satisfying mod.

Still loving your videos and content even without the demo Cuda. Yalls cars are top friggin notch!
Great video. Keep some videos short and informative like this. 👏
Nice touch with the gas cap. Looks great.
Thanks for keeping the video short and educational
Love the attention to detail.
My 1st car was a 68 Coronet. It will always be a favorite, but I did think about grafting in a 68 Charger fuel cap setup. Coolest setup ever
That's a lot of work for a gas cap but it's worth it cuz that looks really nice.
Great job, Brandon!

After see this video, that is exactly what I though about doing to the bike I'm working on. I think it look good with a nice sleek gas tank.
I think I'm going to put one of these on my bike's gas tank. Thanks for the idea.
8:16 that purple is beautiful
You could etch the Muscle Rod logo into those caps. Those look really good though.
Wow a lot of awesome cars in your shop man. I love your vids because of that and you’re a master buikder , great stuff.

Love the intro
I love it. So clean. Just paint a couple ahead of time for the customer.

Quick and to the point. 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent work is impressive what they do, greetings from Mexico
Brandon! you have to try a carbide hole saw, perfect machine finish and dimensions. Ideal 36-314 Master Elec'ns Crbd Hole Cutter
good job Brandels !!

wow like that!! great idea..
Thanks Brandon 👍🏻
Thanks for this tutorial video. I agree, a very cool gas cap.
Great instructional video love the content
That is awesome!!!
The screen flashes because of the different frame rates of the monitor and camera.

Whatever happened to the new body charger?
Would love to have a 68 cornet
Thanks for putting out some content...

looks awesome.
The flicker from the camera looking at the screen is because the frame rate on the screen and the frame rate on the camera are not the same.

Same cap we have on are boat
Whay been a hot minute
If that were my car I'd have to go with Petty blue. Good lookin car tho.
How back up are y'all...I gotta demon I need to get some body work done on...
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
the refresh on monitors is 60 hertz and it is an interference between the camra and the monitor nothing can be done .
Awesome intro!! If you had a video of just 10 second stills of each, I'd have it running over and over for hours, just saying!!...

These Cars are a lot Lower then Stock, which makes it a issue...plus standard Caps got lost as well.

Dropping the cap on the ground chipping or scratching the paint.
That cap would look good just how it is. No need to paint it. Just polish it "Nice n Shiny!" as Rainman Ray would say.
People who can afford these Cars, don't go dropping Caps.

@@warrenmichael918 Exactly warren.
I'm just worried about dropping the cap, then losing it.
Vs dropping any other cap and losing it…
What and it’s rolling down the hill sooooo fast you can’t catch it 😮

mm, that Transtar 4603 is NOT 2k or even 1k. Just FYI to others.
Right! 2 in 1 not 2k. That is correct. Just for cover up till you can get around to body.
You have in interlaced monitor. Non-interlaced do not do that on camera.
