- Elon Musk's recent presentation at Starbase Texas, was I think a little more interesting than some may have given it credit for. In its raw form, perhaps these can come off as a little dry. Well, surprise, because my good friend Adam editing along here with us on the channel just couldn’t wait to present this in a way that absolutely blew my mind. How is SpaceX Starship Revolutionizing Our World!? The Epic Future Awaits! I would have put it all up earlier but there has just been so much going on, I wanted to make sure we picked the right time. Well, that is now, and I am really wanting to hear what you think of this. Because to me, as we dream of the near future to come, this is an amazing example of why I, no we love this story so much. As we patiently await the upcoming integrated flight test three you can’t help but feel that anticipation growing. I cannot wait. Anyway, sit back, pop the headset on, and enjoy.

Marcus, I'm 65 years old now, and I still remember my Mom calling me in July 1969 to watch Apollo 11 land. It changed my life, by inspiring me in engineering and a career I have loved. Starship is the Apollo of this generation (much delayed from what could have been) but I'm feeling the same inspiration now and SO grateful to those actually making it happen. To Mars and beyond!
The visuals paired with Elon's tightened up words really pops! Exciting to think we're at the beginning of so much spaceflight progress.

As a person with a scientific and engineering background I simply love watching the Marcus house delivery.
When I was a small boy and living in Rural Taranaki we had Television and I used to watch Jacques Custeau.The epic Adventures.

Reality and imagination are converging, the two are often difficult to tell apart. Perhaps we should start labeling renders. Honestly, the landing shots from SN-8 were so incredible that I think we should have then already started... not because the renders are getting so good but rather because the reality is so unbelievable!
@dotancohen If they are referring to 3:10 that is real footage. The smoke pattern is beautiful.
@@fubar12345 Yes, I agree that 3:10 is real footage. But some of the footage coming out of Starbase the past few years is just incredible, I honestly thought some things that were real, were wonders. Such is the convergence of a Sci-Fi dream being built, cameras on quadcopters and adorning all corners of the spacecraft, and imaginative people with rendering skills and the tools to make those renders look real. I can not always tell what is what.
@@dotancohen All renders, as I saw it in this wonderful presentation, had the artists names in the corner (It varied which corner). Marcus is good to credit the artists. And the real footage had SpaceX credits.

@ 78, and heavy construction engineer and manager of biggest things (65 story high-rise, nuclear power plants, refineries, Seahawk stadium et al, I know what it takes to do this stuff and how long and Elon and his team are the greatest thing to ever happen to our journey to space.
This video captures the essence of it all and is so masterfully composed that it self teaches what it's all about and to be!! It even makes Elon sound coherent, humble, organized and eloquent!!

I’ve said this in various forums but if I was in charge of nasa I’d be getting ready to send a probe to every planet and moon in the solar system using starship as soon as possible. Imagine the science we’d get from that, and the photos/videos to inspire people. Starship will allow much bigger much cheaper probes!
A Europa Submarine. An Airship on Titan. Would be so cool!
Maybe get out of earth's atmosphere first, then work on low earth orbit, then ship to ship refuelling in orbit. You know just a couple of things that other rockets can already do or don't need.

Would be cool if we got the same planetary alignment as voyager got so we could do that mission again but with a 100 ton probe. Too bad that alignment only happens every like 170 years but man it would be cool.
Adding the video graphics of what Elon was talking about made the speech even more inspiring and helped to demonstrate the progress and vision far better than just the speech alone. Excellent work Adam! Marcus, thank you for all of your work on the channel. I really appreciate what you do.

Marcus (and this time especially Adam! 👍🏼), it was a treat! Breathtaking to say the least.
But when you said, towards the end, something about the adventure, I somehow thought about the endless bureaucracy, with their stamps and approvals, making any adventure just a sanitized laboratory experiment. The adventure is what comes after the civilization and governments collapse.

No need for governments to collapse -that would have a more detrimental effect on space activity than you might think (even in the future).
Once we have a burgeoning cislunar infrastructure, there will be plenty of wiggle room to do amazing things in our solar system. When economic/business activity involving human presence grows larger than government activity in cislunar space, you’ll have the freedom you hope for! (And it will depend on the rule of law, upheld by responsible governance of some kind…)
Great job Adam. You've got to have massive patience to get the audio edit so clean. I've done similar tasks and it's no picnic. The commercial space sector is quite exciting. As for the content... we shall see how this progresses from two very large flying fuel tanks, to something really useful and human rated. Thanks for the upload Marcus. Well done.
