    I've been using those controllers to move props for almost a decade. Awesome controllers for props.

    Are you sure that a microcontroller is really required?
    It seems like all you need is the motion detector rigged up to a relay that directly controls the motor.

      Jeff NME unless you rig up a complicated circuit to reverse the polarity on the motor for returning to the starting point it kinda is necessary to have a microcontroller for simplicity's sake.

      +Richard Fox A microswitch at the limit of travel to click over a relay that reverves polarity going to the motor.
      Not everything needs a chip and a script to run it.
