+Mikes66442 One of my favorite movies too. When she sings More Than You Know in the audition scene, I tear up. Too bad that song was not included on the soundtrack release.

In walks Suzy Diamond, late, broken heel and her only previous 'experience' was with an escort service. From the first note we all knew she was the one. Excellent film!
Just found out that this song originated from the Richard Rogers/ Lorenz Hart stage musical BABES IN ARMS from 1937. It has been recorded by over 600 artists!!
Michelle is a great singer. She first showed her singing talent,to me anyhow in GREASE 2. Even though GREASE 2 was not a success, she still did a great job with her incredible voice. This I believe is from THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS. I believe the song she sings here dates back to the 1920's, as does MAKIN' WHOOPEE which she also performed in "Baker Boys"which also dates back that far(1928)
I've heard many renditions of this song and although many people say this is the best rendition they've ever heard, I don't think they have heard the many artists that have recorded this tune. However, considering Michelle wasn't known as a singer, she brings a depth and expression to her rendition that few untrained artists have been able to do. Just amazing!

Yes, Michelle is lovely, but not many mention the accompaniment. Dave Grusin’s piano work is incredible. It sets the pace and the atmosphere and if you’ve ever tried, incredibly difficult to replicate. 2:52

Michelle Never Sang the Song in the Movie, but its on the Sound-Track. Loved the Movie Multiple times, but not the last 7 Minutes when he fights his brother.
It is documented that she did sing in the movie. See: "Pfeiffer performed all of her own vocals for her character and the film's soundtrack.[63] Kloves described Pfeiffer's singing voice as good but not "professionally great", believing a more professional-sounding singer would have made the film unrealistic.[64] Despite having sung in the musical film Grease 2 (1982), Pfeiffer was never a professional singer,[24] and found the songs in The Fabulous Baker Boys challenging because they are "written to showcase the voice ... so [she] had to retrain the way I listen to music" to sound as though she was singing live, accompanied by only two pianos.[37] Pfeiffer had not sung on camera since Grease 2 seven years prior.[38] To strengthen her vocal chords, the actress enrolled in voice lessons for two months under vocal coach Sally Stevens.[24][31] Stevens was personally recruited by Grusin, with whom she had collaborated several times prior.[65]" Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fabulous_Baker_Boys
