I did an exchange in Germany with a family living near Cologne. My friend showed me around his school and we went to an xmas market 😊 Nozomi and her family are such lovely people! Wouldn't have guessed Ikea as a romantic spot though 😄
Our son did one with a family in Saitama when he was attending a Japanese summer school in Tokyo before deciding if he wanted to study Japanese at Uni (to which the answer was yes). Got on with the family so well that he stayed with them several more times for similar summer visits. He is now in his first year as a JET in Hachioji and still visits them occasionally.
I did an exchange in Spain when I was in High School. It was really nice. I was only two weeks into my Spanish classes at the time. You learn fast! - For a much shorter duration, I also stayed with a family in Mumbai (India), in the old days of couchsurfing, I will always remember it 💚
awww this video reminds me of my late grandmother so much. She sponsored Japanese students in a rural Northern California town all her life. I have fond memories seeing the students reactions to how big everything is here in the US, as Japanese Americans. Seeing many students now adults with families fly from Japan for her funeral shows what a special bond the homestay experience creates.
Great video 🎉 If you ever head out to Chiba again during baseball season I recommend going to a Marines game. You'll love all of the snacks on offer and singing the catchy songs throughout the game ⚾
Wow, Im amazed at how costco looks the same everywhere, also Ikea looks pretty similiar to the one were i live. Loved the whole trip, was pretty chill and loved seeing other parts of Japan.
Hmmm doesn't sound like a compliment. My best friend is tall and I'm short. But I never make her feel bad about it. I recommend reevaluating how this came across, even if you didn't mean it that way.
@@wasabigirl2004 sorry for a late reply! I had my exchange set up through my school, I was the first person from my school to go since the Covid pandemic, so I had kinda said to the school I wanted to do it and they started back up the program. Was an awesome experience! Highly recommend it for anyone who wants to improve their Japanese skills. I miss my host family already 🥲
@@wasabigirl2004sorry for the late reply! It seems my original reply didn’t send, I set up my exchange through my school, but I was the first person to go on the trip since the pandemic, so my school altered some of the rules for the exchange program. I greatly recommend the going on an exchange, it’s an amazing experience and great for Japanese learning!
I love you and your content. Been going through my own process after a recent breakup, and your videos are one of the few things that I have as a weekly routine that I can look forward to, amidst all the changes to my life that this transition has brought. And I believe that everything we do that excites us and bring us joy, like simply enjoying your videos, helps us stay on track on our personal journeys. You have a beautiful energy that shows through your work, you are doing a service to the world with your work - no doubt this year will be wonderful for you, and that life will grant you all your heart’s desires. And that this will happen much much sooner than you expect, if not already. Cheers!
Wow, seerasan, what a fun video. By the way, here in the Midwest USA Costco and Sam's Club have sushi. In fact a sushi chef on duty. Most of our grocery stores also have sushi although the quality can't be as good as Japan. Thanks for the fun video.
OMG you two are so cute and fun! Great video seerasan! Nozomi makes you look like a giant LOL. All your 2025 videos have been awesome! So so sweet loved this video - arigato.
I haven't had any fun lately, You bring me joy!I love the kind and generous heartwarming atmosphere that you create, your kind, easygoing, warm vibe. I like the essence how you live on. I need to be true to myself and find a job I am passionate about. I want to find a way to live as who I really am.
Most new cars in the US have TV type screens like that now as well. It was a real adjustment to get used to for me too. 😂 But now it's normal. 📺 We have fresh sushi at one of our Costcos south of Seattle. It just depends on what's popular in your area. 😉
American Costcos are just starting to get sushi, but at least on my side of the country it's just American-style giant rolls and it's not very good. I think the Hawaiian ones and maybe some of the West Coast ones are starting to get the Japanese-style and quality sashimi and sushi.
The IKEA-test is also a thing. Not going on dates in the store, but it´s like a "test" of the new relationship. Cause many buy the cheap furniture when they are young and move in together. So will they be able to put together the IKEA-furniture, that is notorious for their sometimes not very elaborate guides - without fighting? 😀
Costco is great for businesses and large families, but as a single person I usually can’t justify buying things there. I do have a membership though because they have cheaper gas and car tires lol! And the food court! And the eyeglasses counter!
That's the exact box of popcorn I buy at costco here in the US. It's a great place if you know you're going to use everything you buy, otherwise it's a huge waste of money.
Nice to hear suddenly Annyeong Haseyo. I just started Korean language studies. Driving on the left side is opposite side in the Finland. Eating smashed potatoes & meatballs is cheap option in IKEA. Actually that food option sounds very Finnish. Nice to hear that IKEA has also dating culture meaning. It is also funny that when walking in IKEA you travel around every place and location before you see the exit. Cats always know where is the warmest place. I remember seeing cat on the top of oven. Nice & delicious cooking! Same thing. I have also cat allergy, which is kind of sad, because cats are cute. Great looking Ramen place.
Chill family and good vibes. Also regarding the TV inside the car as for France is illegal as it would lead to in roads accidents. Putting a drama/video on your phone whilst driving could lead to losing points on your permit. Hope this is clear.
Great video ! Glad to see you're still in contact with your previous host sister ! Btw, which platform/website did you use to find your homestay family years ago ?
Seera what's good? You seem to be having a good time and I enjoy seeing you enjoying your self and it's a plus for me seeing your smiling face and hearing your jolly laughter and I always enjoy seeing your pretty face so I hope things keep going well for you and much love to you.
You're just super young! We have these Tvs in cars in Auatralia. The first time i saw one was about 7 years ago in my aunts BMW. This was in Western Australia (but I've not seen them in the cheaper cars). When i was in Orlando last year my Uber Driver was watching some crime show whilst doing around 100kms on international drive - i did not think i was going to make it to the mall alive!
I checked the nsw.gov.au site. And this is what it says regarding Digital screens: "The rules - You must not drive with a digital screen on if you can see it, or it could distract another driver, unless you’re using it as a driver's aid... You can get a fine and demerit points for using a digital screen illegally while driving."
My husband has a Holden with a screen in the front connected to the entertainment system in the back. It turns off when the car starts going and turns back on when stopped at lights.
6:36 totally suprised, in 2008 i saw so tablets fixed on the back of the driver seat and front passanger seat and i was shocked, than i saw them more often, it is a whole new level of shock. I mean children can be hypnotized with tv, but the driver, why? omg XD and there are only jokes about driving and texting :O
disclaimer: I'm an American. Costco is as American as it gets; a big box store that capitalizes on selling products in bulk. I have a love/hate relationship with Costco.

I did, in Norway, 14 years ago. It was during the winter, so it was all covered in snow. I miss those immense, white Norwegian woods.
I love you too!!!!!!😍💗

Nozomi is adorable. Please have more future episodes with the two of you trying and rating all the foods.
Looked like a fun trip. Japan never ceases to throw a surprise my way, Ikea as a date destination? Would never have suspected.
Very wholesome video as always! loving it when you speak Japanese and just immersed yourself in the culture
such a sweet family. and grandma moving downstairs is everywhere it seems. it's also common in my family
I love wholesome episodes like this.
Thank you 😊
Yes Costco in Las Vegas sells sushi. It’s pretty good. I love that the car was playing figure skating. Great video 🎉
I’ve always preferred classic shoyu ramen, and it’s impossible to find, where I live. Bookmarking this place for future reference. 👍🏼
Couldn't imagine what it feels like doing a homestay so far away from home 🙈. But those guys seem to be pretty nice 👍.
You're a steadily becoming my favourite youtuber love the vlogs ❤❤ keep them coming
Aw thank you so much 🥹💓

this was such a nice change of pace from the city life of Tokyo 😌

@seerasan I did not notice your height so I disagree with the comment. Looked like two sweet friends reconnecting!!! And I'm only 5'1 (154.94 cm). 😂❤
I love Nozomi. She’s so precious. ❤🎉
Nozomi is so cute 🥰
Today I just finished my 6 week exchange in Japan, so perfect timing to watch this video☺️
Did you organise yourself? Or did you go through school exchange or organisation?
Hope you thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Great Video, Nozomi is funny and you two are looking like you're having a blast. Thanks for sharing this visit.
Love your content! Love you Tanuki Studios beanie! Please do videos on more local brands!
Seera’s videos are always so cozy. Thanks for taking us along on your visit to your homestay fam!

How can you not love Sara when she is so happy, easy to get along with, and fun.

Salt and Vinegar chips. A woman of fine taste haha. Man that ramen looks so good especially the yolk of that ajitama 😋

Love this video! Love your positivity it radiates through the screen! 🙌🙌🙌
Just love getting to follow along on your adventures 😊 It was cool seeing the Japanese versions of the things I'm familiar with here in Australia.
lovely video 💕
It would be so cool to study abroad in Japan!
How nice of you!
Love the variety of your videos! Very cool you kept in touch with your Japanese homestay sister!
Thanks so much 🥰
That bulk Kraft mac & cheese is actually a little pricey. They’re often on sale in the US for under $1 a box. Maybe import costs.
🗻⛩🥰 NEW SUB! Great Video! Lovely to see a homie cozy thing going on. kotatsu is perfect for winter and watching Anime. 🥰
That's looked like such a great visit! Reminds me of my home stay family in Kobe. Similar house up out of the city. Love hearing you speak Japanese.
This was so cute!! Thank you for sharing

Yeah Hakushu is really nice stuff. I discovered it by asking for an "omakase highball".

I’ve always wanted to visit Costco in Japan. In Hawaii we do have sushi 🍣 so that looks the same but maybe more delicious 😋
Happy Chinese new year! Sarah!

Ich bekomme immer sehr großen Hunger, wenn ich deine Filme gucke 🤭
thats one cool dad 😊❤
I love takoyaki! I need to go get some more at the Korean market.

They have sushi at our Costco in Hawaii, they just brought it in. I know they have it in UK Costco's too.

Omg the ikea meatballs look so nicely presented compared to Australia hahaha
Oh no 😭😂 never had them in Aus before but can imagine… lol
more videos per week please

Sarah by any chance have you been to the Nintendo plant in Kyoto? Do you know if they give tour of the Nintendo building?

Wait, Costco in Japan still has combo pizzas!? We're getting robbed here in the US!
What van is that? A Toyota alphard or a Toyota Roomy?
I need to have takoyaki parties 🐙
i wish i had a homestay in japan.
10/10 would hang out with Noizumi's dad to wait in line for ramen.
すごい日本語上手かったんですね😮
having a date at IKEA reminds me of '500 days of summer'
Blooming next already? Wasn’t it around early April?
Yes Costco in the US has sushi but likely not as good as in Japan. There’s also some Japanese snacks.
Small but very cute room lol
the cat chose you 🥹😸💛
How tall are you? You seem so much taller than your friend.
Seera hating on IKEA couples 😂
💕💕💕💕💕🌷🌷🌷🌷
disclaimer: I'm an American.
Costco is as American as it gets; a big box store that capitalizes on selling products in bulk.
I have a love/hate relationship with Costco.
What a laidback family! Love it. But drivers should not be able to watch TV while driving, that's scary!
That cat's face looks more human than cat...lol.
UK Costco has sushi, it’s not good tbh
The size difference of you two
I need the giant box of Apollo jfccccccccccccc
sarah
A lot of "likes" here.
Ikea food in Australia is so miserable.. they have no creativity in creating new food.
is nozomi child?
千葉ってラーメン有名なんだ?
First!
🥳🥳🥳
