It’s still a freestyle but not off the top. There are various types of freestyles. Freestyles that are memorized and freestyles that are off the top. Just so you know- King Los never writes it down. Most of his creative work is created from the dome. He arranges and rearranges his rhymes all in the head. Jay z does this as well. Not to say you didn’t know this. But it’s for those who don’t know.
