Wow, Chadwick. You've managed to put down all women for their looks, for their preferences and for their personalities in one single sentence. I'm not sure Alicia would approve. The whole point of what she's doing is to show everyone is beautiful the way they are and they get to CHOOSE what they do with their bodies and characters, not allow themselves to be shaped by voices like yours.

Exactly! Now you understand the frustration, how people still not say anything against the president's policies, his lack of empathy, compassion and common sense. It is affecting not only minorities, but EVERYBODY. The worst part, not only many who voted for 45 are complacent, they're not aware, these too will affect them in the long run or in some way, just like it is for the rest of us at this moment. By the way, forty something percent is not most of the united states, it's actually less than half, I think it was 3 million people less that did not vote for him. That does not make the majority...but going back to Alicia Keys, her talent is undeniable, just like it is Clint Eastwood, amazing actor and director and legend in his own right, he is incredible eventhough he didn't vote democrat.

She's correct that all women are beautiful in their own unique ways. As a hetro male I'm more turned on with a woman who's comfortable in their own skin and genuinely happy (in their life) than I am with a woman who wears lots of makeup-which is invariably the converse. 'Lots of makeup' says to me this woman isn't confident. I've seen it too many times now for it to not be true. Woman have developed the opinion they are not naturally beautiful. Newsflash: if you were not our species would have died away long ago. You are beautiful and for damn sure you are far more beautiful than you think of yourself as. There are plenty of actresses who if you looked like you'd be less confident than and you'd begin to find and list all the ways you'd be better if only they were changed. FFS, stop... stop, stop, stop. Take the journey back to loving yourself and learning to see what others who are confident in 'their' own skin (an important stipulation) see in you. They see a different you in you than you see in you and you see in them what they project and you then tell yourself the story of how you'd be like that if only you were them. Stop. Enough. Jimmy is right, when you got a face as beautiful as Alicia Keys, you don't need make-up. Alicia is one of the most beautiful-est girls I've ever saw period.
Not everybody "is beautiful in their own way". You can't just broaden the definition of a word to make everybody feel included.
Having beauty; possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind is the definition of beautiful. WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PERCEPTIONS, THEREFORE, Everyone has their own definition of beautiful, in fact beauty is in the eye of the beholder. She's saying stop conforming to standards of beauty put on us by society.
We all know, physical beauty, as in beeing "hot"/desireable, is what we are talking about here. Definitely NOT in the eye of the beholder. There are rules to it. You listed (!) things to include other aspects and just proved my point.
As far as having "different perceptions", well, we can never know, but people seem to agree on who is beautiful, which is a strong indication on quite similar experiences.

Not really. She wore make up all her life until recently. The things that (scientifically) help people not age as fast are genetics and leading a healthy lifestyle. I'd say she's got both in her favor.
