    From my observation and historical market pattern, there might be a bit of turbulence in the market coming up, but here's the deal: Trying to guess what's going to happen next is less important than spreading your bets when trading and thinking long term. It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Linda Wilburn, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.

    I got a call from my landlord with a $500 increase on my rent as of May 1st, I live in Miami, lived in the same house for 5 years now. I am not in a position to buy at the moment, I work hard and it seems the harder I work the less money I see, I have two kids so I cannot work anymore hours or I'll never see them. I've given up on buying a home to be honest, especially here where Im close to my family. Not being negative just realistic. Ive visited PR a few times, beautiful place, beautiful people. Since a currency issuer doesn't have to source what it creates (it IS the source) interest payments are as easy to make as creating dollars for any other purpose.
      The US has never missed a debt payment. It's always paid. As a consequence US debt is desired all over the world. All the blather about the US never paying can be ignored. It's true the US won't tax the debt total back, but it's obvious that it's a feature and not a bug.

    If we stop trying to fight inflation (the government inflates their way out of the debt crisis they are in) then we get hyperinfaltion. Hyperinflation causes asset prices to go up. This includes the stock market. The real question is can the US Government keep spending like this without ramifications. I am to so sure. So while it can continue to go up, that just means when we do crash... it is going to be epic.

    Look, this guy must live in some Ivory Tower. Look around at the middle class suffering here. People making 6 figures are living paycheck to paycheck. The amount of inflation that people have experienced in the last 2 years is staggering. Our dollar is in some serious trouble, and while it might never go away totally, it is losing substantial buying power. I mean they still use Zimbabwe Dollars. Look at the Capital Controls that are being forced on Americans, from limiting the amount of money they can withdraw, to stores that dont want to accept pocket change. Its not worth their time to count change. Sure, the dollar will be with us for some time, and it is probably better than any other fiat currency, but if we keep experiencing double digit inflation by these programs, then expect it to be worth substantially less. If the dollar were so damn great, then our standard of living should be going up. Yes, expect the market to keep going up, because it happens in almost every single country before their currency finally implodes. Even Zimbabwes stock market went up 600%. its not the market going up, but people getting rid of their dollars. Expect that to happen here, as other countries get rid of their dollars to buy hard assets, and expect commodity prices, Bitcoin, and Tulips to do the same.

    I give Brent Johnson a lot of credit for thinking too optimistic about the United States economy. The U.S. economy is on the brink of total collapse due to the handling of sanctions on Russia, the Rise of BRICS, and the Global South. In addition, there are too many external factors beyond the Fed and the U.S. Government's control. These events will have catastrophic effects on Western markets, such as increased prices on domestic trade, BRICS countries imposing their own sanctions on Western countries, War, Political Unrest, Atmospheric and Planetary disturbances, and many other unpredictable events that will cause the United States and Western European economies to totally capsize and sink.
    --------
    I'm not encouraged by your optimistic outlook Mr. Johnson but kudos to you for having balls of steel to believe otherwise.

    • @TheMountainBeyondTheWoods
      @TheMountainBeyondTheWoods 3 месяца назад

      You are just repeating the exact same "the world is about to collapse" ideas of the past decades. Yes, the US is is terrible shape, but the rest of the world is even worse, and if the US collpases, everything else collapses with it. How can you not understand that this is the point Brent is making? He's not being too optimistic, he's being realistic.

    Doller cost average in. No one can time the market. Never put all money in at once. DCA gives the best return over the long term. Set aside a doable budget every month and staying disciplined is key. Buy a stock for long term at least 5-10 years. This keeps any stress over short term losses to a minimum.

    One thing you touched on was the world economic problems.
    I just returned from living in Turkyie for a couple of years. Turkyie is running 70% to 100% inflation. The situation is devastating to the locals.
    When the Russian and Ukrainian war broke out, causing forced migration. In turn driving up the price of real estate in rentals and investment.
    Don't get distracted by the clown show Tucker put on. The ruble is collapsing.
    The world economies outside the US are in sad shape. China's real estate is a disaster. Russia and Ukraine are closed for business. People point to Oil first but forget the amount of grain products that come out of the two countries. Grain issue's domino to Europe, feeding into the inflation issues.
    In 2008, the US exported our banking problems to the world. This time, I fear we will be importing their problems. I haven't even mentioned the mess in the Middle East. Local economic stats might tell you what's happening in the the US for the next six months. However, this time, we may need to broaden our filters.
    Many countries are in unsustainable economic situations.

    Every financial guru I listen to - and they all have different opinions on the economy - has been wrong for years. “The sky is falling” crowd is exhausting. I’ve been hearing that for 45 years now, or about since I was 10 years old. Funny how when I pretty much ignore them is when I start doing really well with savings and investments. The reality is that they are useful for planning to deal with multiple scenarios. IF the economy does “this”, THEN I will respond by doing a, b and c. IF the banking system does THAT, then I will respond by doing d,e and f. So really I am saving and investing, but always trying to keep my eyes on where things are heading 6-12 months down the road, maybe at the most 24 months. Again, because most of them have been wrong. And yes, TIMING does count in the equation and if they get timing right, then it just adds to their credibility. This guest was at least honest in saying he doesn’t know what’s going to happen, but he also gave a refreshingly optimistic view on the resiliency of the dollar in the world economy.
