  • Nosie Mbili, born in Cala, Eastern Cape, and raised in Cape Town, discovered her passion for music and theatre early on through drama plays and school choir participation. She honed her craft working with Mfundo Hashe and collaborating with talents like Thando Doni and Khayalethu Mofu.
A significant milestone in her career was working with the legendary Mama Thoko Ntshinga, which greatly inspired her. In music, Nosie has shared stages with icons such as Mthunzi Namba, Bro Stompie Mavi, Lusanda Beja, and Nomandala Mfencane, showcasing her versatility. Nosie has performed at prestigious venues like the Artscape Theatre and the Baxter Theatre, earning recognition as the best Jazz lady in Cape Town.
This video chronicles Nosie’s inspiring journey, from the nerve-racking auditions to her transformative experience in the Beyond Busking Programme. This immersive program unlocked Nosie's creative potential, allowing her to dive deep into songwriting, vocal training, musical arrangement, and studio production. Nosie says her music addresses women's issues and what they go through daily in South Africa. Esteemed mentors such as Abigail Petersen (Vocal Coach) highlight how deep and emotional her music is.
Nosie's debut song, "Ndilimele," showcases her musical prowess and will be released on digital platforms on the 26th of July 2024. Recorded at Milestone studio by Matthew Thiem and produced by Jonny Blundell, "Ndilimele" features an incredible lineup of talent: Nosie Mbili on lead vocals, Shaun Johannes on Double Bass, Lilavan Gangan on Drums, Lonwabo Mafani on Piano and Keyboards, Jonny Blundell on Electric Guitar, with Thami Baba and Ivee Soul providing beautiful backing vocals. The legendary Vicente Espi-Sanchis lent his expertise to mix and master this poignant track.
