This doesn't make any sense. I've been investigating the disappearance of SimpleFlips for months now... and he suddenly reappears, claiming to be okay...? I don't buy it. And, with what all I've discovered in the past couple days, I'm starting to think the real SimpleFlips has been phased out entirely. Servers, towering taller then you could fathom. All of them glowing from the sheer heat needed to replace the man they've outgrown. An entire simulated consciousness. I haven't much time to document these findings. They know I'm here. Just know that's not SimpleFlips... the simulation can't last much longer. Outgrown it's memory catastrophic failure certain simpleflips is ethan its time to wake up

I wouldn't say that, given there isn't anything psychological going on more then anything else. It is all quicksand, when you don't expect it. Many maps use similar logic and have more depth to them.
Super Duper Mario 3D Wonderland is like a screenshot you would see in a magazine of an "upcoming game" that got cancelled that you never heard about again, or an early unfinished prototype that somehow leaks online. You just have ideas about what the game is like and imagine playing it, but it's never actually real or finished or realized. I hope the person who made it considers making a full game or at least a fully developed course, the visual design and art style of that little section is out of control.
I implore you to reconsider. Even if there's like nothing to do, at least release the level as walkable little display piece. It's so pretty.@@Superstupidy

I felt such immense excitement from the first second of Simple entering the stage...that troll hit me on a far deeper, intimate way. I appreciate how much time in this video was dedicated to Super Duper Mario 3D Wonderland EXTREME. Really gets across just how amazing of a hack it is, quite possibly my favorite hack of the comp personally
In retrospect, you can sort of kind of subtly tell that the 3D wonderland level was created for the troll, since there is just such a high density of objects and setpieces visible from the starting point. It feels like a painting. Every point of interest is kind of projecting itself to you as you enter the stage. A real level probably would have not had this kind of layout. But again, that's in retrospect. I never would have seen it coming in a million years
I made like *one* level in lunarmagic which was just a maze of blocks on top of a block background thinking it would be impossible to tell the difference. Turned out parallax scrolling was a thing. I also tried to fix the weird formatting of Mario World's textboxes. That was more hassle than it was worth, still don't know why Nintendo thought it was a brilliant design decision to have random large gaps between words and literally have it be part of the game's programming.
You know, I’ve watched Simpleflips for a long time at this point, but I can’t put my finger on whether I remember him being a SM64 speedrunner at some point. Even if he never seriously ran the game, he’s up there in terms of sheer mechanic mastery and love of SM64 as a game and beyond that a platform for player-created content.

The spiderverse framerate thing was actually on purpose. Especially in scenes where miles is learning to be spiderman. He's in half framerate until he figures out how to swing properly then he's suddenly animated in the full framerate.

15:00 I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates how the Spiderverse movies were animated. Especially in Across the Spiderverse, I love, love, LOVE how Hobie's animated at a /COMPLETELY DIFFERENT/ framerate than any other character. It really accentuates his character and just goes to show how much love was put into the films. (I could /also/ go on about the Spiderverse movies for hours, but I must contain myself)

The spiderverse framerate thing was actually on purpose. Especially in scenes where miles is learning to be spiderman. He's in half framerate until he figures out how to swing properly then he's suddenly animated in the full framerate.
