Well. I think that Battlefield is more detailed because they try to be realistic. But that doesn't mean the game is better. I love Titanfall and that doesn't have that much detail

World War 2 weren't constantly brown and the air wasn't constantly filled with dirt or smoke. The world looked exactly like it does normally, except with destruction. The light doesn't change just cause it's war time.
In BFV you can be revived. That's why there's no limb amputation with explosives. Would be a bit shitty to be revived with no legs. Might be less realistic but there is a reason behind it.

5:34 The HUGE difference is that during combat/a firefight, I highly doubt you would straight up PICK UP a grenade in your hands and then throw it. Due to reaction, soldiers in BFV react to throwing the grenade by quickly picking it up and tossing it moments after, rather then picking it up, adjusting and then throwing.
Splitz Cinamatics look at videos of it. The headshots have to be in close succession on the other and it’s hard to hear over all the noise of grenades, explosions and gunfire but it is a feature.
The reason in BF1 you don't loose limbs is because on it you sit and wait for a medic if you don't skip, if you were to be healed you would have no leg or the game would not make even more sense.
Dont forget that BF5 has some impressive physics, as you can see with the player model being thrown away by the explosion. CoD doesnt have that, but it doesnt even have an animation, (for example all players just falling to the same direction when being blown up or something like that) instead, the player model is simply replaced by a model of someone without a leg and covered with blood. (for some reason, the helmet seems to be blood-resistant, didnt know they had that in WW2 :P)
Also, in BFV the soldier's feet movement will be different depending on the surface they're walking on; for example, if a soldier sprints on a watery surface, he (or she) will lift up his feet, giving the feeling that he's trying to avoid water getting inside his boots. When shooting missiles or heavy artillery at a tank or heavy vehicle, a ring of melt metal will appear in the exact spot where the proyectile impacted. Every explosion leaves a crater that can be used as a cover by infantry. Even if you're aren't playing as a medic, you can revive every single player of your squad, while medics can do so faster and with every single teammate. When killed by a head shot and then revived, your character will no longer have his or her helmet. Every single shot and explosion will always have an eco and a sound expansion effect that will be different depending on the location where the shot or explosion happened. The sound of the aircrafts will be different depending on the speed of the plane and its angle. Every single proyectile, including bullets and missiles will always have a gravity drop and speed, making it way more difficult and realistic to make long range shots. Bayonet charge needs to be performed while sprinting and if performed correctly (if you get an enemy player) the impact will be different depending from the angle you attacked and then will require your avatar to get the blade out of his body in a much more realistic way. Granades will not roll on every surface like in WWll; if it is thrown in a muddy, watery surface, it will stay in that location because of the mud/water. When there's an explosion on a snowy surface, the explosion will reveal the dirt beneath the snow. The throwing knife will not insta-kill enemies if it was thrown from far away. When entering a ground vehicle, you will be able to see how your avatar gets inside it. Every sniper rifle will have a different reticle on its scope. Depending on the caliber, the proyectile will travel more or less distance and will have more or less speed. Soldier's pain and panic screams, sounds and quotes are way more realistic. Soldiers can slide or jump to ground to go prone after crouching while sprinting. Most of times when you get killed, your avatar will start to bleed out, and you can either put pressure on the injury or just let the blood flow out. Even the translated versions of the game, have a very realistic and unic voice acting. Healing has to be performed manually. Depending of how severe you get injured, the slower and less you will be able to heal yourself. Pilots, drivers and mounted gun shooters can be shot and killed even if the vehicle or gun isn't damaged. Almost all buildings and surfaces can be destroyed. Hit boxes are so precise that even bullets and proyectiles can pass throught your avatar's legs. Planes and tanks have limited ammo, and will require you to get more manually. The angle of a plane will affect it's speed. Depending on the angle a proyectile hits a vehicle, the less or the highter damage will be inflicted to the vehicle. In snowy or muddy surfaces, your gun, uniform and avatar will get dirty when crouching, going prone or shooting those surfaces. Enemies can easily camuflage with the environment. If a full shot of morphin is injected into an enemy, it will kill him/her. Every vehicle has a different speed, firing power and damage resistence. The soundtrack is entirely composed by orchestra and chorus. Every gun, explosive, launcher, artillery weapon and vehicle canon/gun has a different sound. Every soldier can go prone on his back. When exiting an aircraft you will be bale to see how your avatar gets out of the plane. When playing as a sniper, your soldier will count your headshots from until you eventually get a body shot kill, until you die or until you reach 10 headshot kills in a row. All vehicles are a 1:1 replica of the original ones. All textures have a high quality 3D model; you can even see your uniform's seams in a very high quality. When reloading a gun with an inner mag, the amount of bullets left in it will correspond the ones that were left before reloading. Traumatic amputation isn't present because every player can be revived. Melee kills will reveal how your character killed the enemy in a graphic way instead of just slashing like in WWll. You will be able to hear how the bullets fly around close to you and the impact that will be different depending on the surface it hit. Even tho most of times the only way to insta-kill someone with a sniper is a headshot, a clean close-range, mid-range shot to the heart will also do the job. When killed by a melee attack, you will be able to see how you were killed (by your own perspective) and some times, how your avatar suffered in pain before dying. Some of the personal (as well as estationary) light machine guns can overheat if used continuosly by some time. You can't aim down the sights with some light machine guns (because of the weight) when there isn't a surface to use the bipod. If you overheat a specific light machine gun, your character will change its barrel with a new, cold one. Every weapon and vehicle has a fact about it on its description. You can't load the next bullet into the chamber of a bolt action sniper rifle when you're aiming. The only ways to insta-kill an enemy that's far away, is with a high explosive/caliber proyectile or by a sniper headshot. There's no point in comparing these two games, simply because "detail" is Battlefield's middle name. By the way, there AREN'T any prosthetic arms in the game lol.

Both games have other tendencies. Battlefield is for more Realistic Warfare and big Good Looking Maps and Cod is Simple Run and Gun with tendencies on Leveling Unlocking and Nice Skins. Both are good in what they are doing.
yeah they couldve made it to where certain explosions or deaths would leave ur character without limbs being unrevivable, but if ur character was just gunned down/knifed etc u would b revivable
in BF2 They have this cool mechanic where as long as you're not killed by direct explosives or headshot, you can still be revived with defibs. and that game was made in 2005 mind you.

Sam Holmes as a developer myself it’s not that difficult, making it look good is the hardest thing not functionality, just damage constraints and if it passes the constraint can’t revive and the attack will cause trauma, ie big holes in the body, dismemberment, or just like total annihilation for the big stuff like a tank shot or a plane crashing into you directly

In bf defense, the whole limbs blown apart mechanic isnt there since everyone can be revived. If you have your legs blown off, a med syringe isnt gonna help grow them back

5:34 The HUGE difference is that during combat/a firefight, I highly doubt you would straight up PICK UP a grenade in your hands and then throw it. Due to reaction, soldiers in BFV react to throwing the grenade by quickly picking it up and tossing it moments after, rather then picking it up, adjusting and then throwing.

Splitz Cinamatics look at videos of it. The headshots have to be in close succession on the other and it’s hard to hear over all the noise of grenades, explosions and gunfire but it is a feature.
The reason in BF1 you don't loose limbs is because on it you sit and wait for a medic if you don't skip, if you were to be healed you would have no leg or the game would not make even more sense.

Dont forget that BF5 has some impressive physics, as you can see with the player model being thrown away by the explosion. CoD doesnt have that, but it doesnt even have an animation, (for example all players just falling to the same direction when being blown up or something like that) instead, the player model is simply replaced by a model of someone without a leg and covered with blood. (for some reason, the helmet seems to be blood-resistant, didnt know they had that in WW2 :P)

Also, in BFV the soldier's feet movement will be different depending on the surface they're walking on; for example, if a soldier sprints on a watery surface, he (or she) will lift up his feet, giving the feeling that he's trying to avoid water getting inside his boots. When shooting missiles or heavy artillery at a tank or heavy vehicle, a ring of melt metal will appear in the exact spot where the proyectile impacted. Every explosion leaves a crater that can be used as a cover by infantry. Even if you're aren't playing as a medic, you can revive every single player of your squad, while medics can do so faster and with every single teammate. When killed by a head shot and then revived, your character will no longer have his or her helmet. Every single shot and explosion will always have an eco and a sound expansion effect that will be different depending on the location where the shot or explosion happened. The sound of the aircrafts will be different depending on the speed of the plane and its angle. Every single proyectile, including bullets and missiles will always have a gravity drop and speed, making it way more difficult and realistic to make long range shots. Bayonet charge needs to be performed while sprinting and if performed correctly (if you get an enemy player) the impact will be different depending from the angle you attacked and then will require your avatar to get the blade out of his body in a much more realistic way. Granades will not roll on every surface like in WWll; if it is thrown in a muddy, watery surface, it will stay in that location because of the mud/water. When there's an explosion on a snowy surface, the explosion will reveal the dirt beneath the snow. The throwing knife will not insta-kill enemies if it was thrown from far away. When entering a ground vehicle, you will be able to see how your avatar gets inside it. Every sniper rifle will have a different reticle on its scope. Depending on the caliber, the proyectile will travel more or less distance and will have more or less speed. Soldier's pain and panic screams, sounds and quotes are way more realistic. Soldiers can slide or jump to ground to go prone after crouching while sprinting. Most of times when you get killed, your avatar will start to bleed out, and you can either put pressure on the injury or just let the blood flow out. Even the translated versions of the game, have a very realistic and unic voice acting. Healing has to be performed manually. Depending of how severe you get injured, the slower and less you will be able to heal yourself. Pilots, drivers and mounted gun shooters can be shot and killed even if the vehicle or gun isn't damaged. Almost all buildings and surfaces can be destroyed. Hit boxes are so precise that even bullets and proyectiles can pass throught your avatar's legs. Planes and tanks have limited ammo, and will require you to get more manually. The angle of a plane will affect it's speed. Depending on the angle a proyectile hits a vehicle, the less or the highter damage will be inflicted to the vehicle. In snowy or muddy surfaces, your gun, uniform and avatar will get dirty when crouching, going prone or shooting those surfaces. Enemies can easily camuflage with the environment. If a full shot of morphin is injected into an enemy, it will kill him/her. Every vehicle has a different speed, firing power and damage resistence. The soundtrack is entirely composed by orchestra and chorus. Every gun, explosive, launcher, artillery weapon and vehicle canon/gun has a different sound. Every soldier can go prone on his back. When exiting an aircraft you will be bale to see how your avatar gets out of the plane. When playing as a sniper, your soldier will count your headshots from until you eventually get a body shot kill, until you die or until you reach 10 headshot kills in a row. All vehicles are a 1:1 replica of the original ones. All textures have a high quality 3D model; you can even see your uniform's seams in a very high quality. When reloading a gun with an inner mag, the amount of bullets left in it will correspond the ones that were left before reloading. Traumatic amputation isn't present because every player can be revived. Melee kills will reveal how your character killed the enemy in a graphic way instead of just slashing like in WWll. You will be able to hear how the bullets fly around close to you and the impact that will be different depending on the surface it hit. Even tho most of times the only way to insta-kill someone with a sniper is a headshot, a clean close-range, mid-range shot to the heart will also do the job. When killed by a melee attack, you will be able to see how you were killed (by your own perspective) and some times, how your avatar suffered in pain before dying. Some of the personal (as well as estationary) light machine guns can overheat if used continuosly by some time. You can't aim down the sights with some light machine guns (because of the weight) when there isn't a surface to use the bipod. If you overheat a specific light machine gun, your character will change its barrel with a new, cold one. Every weapon and vehicle has a fact about it on its description. You can't load the next bullet into the chamber of a bolt action sniper rifle when you're aiming. The only ways to insta-kill an enemy that's far away, is with a high explosive/caliber proyectile or by a sniper headshot.
There's no point in comparing these two games, simply because "detail" is Battlefield's middle name.
By the way, there AREN'T any prosthetic arms in the game lol.

Both games have other tendencies.
Battlefield is for more Realistic Warfare and big Good Looking Maps and Cod is Simple Run and Gun with tendencies on Leveling Unlocking and Nice Skins.
Both are good in what they are doing.
In regards to the dismemberment, it would be cool to see it in battlefield but would be problematic due to the revive mechanics.
yeah they couldve made it to where certain explosions or deaths would leave ur character without limbs being unrevivable, but if ur character was just gunned down/knifed etc u would b revivable

Sam Holmes as a developer myself it’s not that difficult, making it look good is the hardest thing not functionality, just damage constraints and if it passes the constraint can’t revive and the attack will cause trauma, ie big holes in the body, dismemberment, or just like total annihilation for the big stuff like a tank shot or a plane crashing into you directly

Interesting thing about COD WW2, they do have a thing where when you jump down to the ground(running and holding the crouch button) you can get dirty for a bit but it goes away.
