Surfing was definitely a more adventurous spiritual magical experience in the 70s and early 80s. Still possible to get out there today but the innocence is gone. I really miss being an outcast on the edge of society. As my friend says, it was "less of the show and more of the go". Times have changed, progress reared its ugly head. Wish there was a time machine, i would cue up 86 and take the hard empty dangerous wonderous travels of western indo over a crowded fast boat to bungalow anyday.
