sickboy I think we have a Jeff 🤭🤭 There’s this new kid, Alejandro Aranda. Getting noticed from American Idol but his genius arrangements, melodies, emotion he puts into his songs, his skills on guitar and piano just give me the feeling I got when I listen to Jeff. Not a mimic but his own thing. Its refreshing af. His personal music posts are where you see those feelings.
He was also tortured though. I can also see that in his eyes. There is no way he could have written all those great songs without it. Thats one thing about art, the good art is derived from pain and a tortured soul.
His youth makes my heart melt. It makes me think how "liquid" we all are. I hear his beautiful voice, i see his distant sight, i think that he doesn't exist anymore. But how is it possible? Life is like a lie, but his art seems so true. It was short but big.
@@Rhinoinasuit Not just me saying it. Plenty of people close to him talked about his authenticity and ability to connect to them on a deep level. Something very rare nowadays.
I don’t know how many times I’ve said to myself while watching Jeff play or speak in interviews, “I wonder what music would be like if he never went swimming that day” 😭😭
"Basically just you, yeah, what are you doing? You, you, you're shaping sound in order to fit a feeling, and to make sure that's a good vehicle for that feeling; words are accurately emotional... Emotionally accurate, you know?"
everytime i hear Grace and his covers i have an anguish in my heart because i feel that something is missing, there was so much to be said and i honestly don't understand how "destiny" could have taken this beautiful life, there's a lot of musicians but most of them don't talk about music the same way Jeff did.
I just learned about him tonight and am crying over his passing. Such a deep level of attention and emotion within his music and even just within his voice... its humans like these, who remind you of just how precious life truly is. He had so much potential, the beginning of such growth but it feels as though he was snipped at the bud...
I'm in absolute love with him. He couldn't give two shits about the fame. He cared about sharing his gift and connecting people emotionally to his music. He has such a beautiful ethereal demeanor but you can tell he's an incredible selfawareness.
the interviewer was my aunt. sadly she passed away 3 years ago but she always told us stories about the celebrities she met. she said jeff was very kind to her.❤
@@MojoPin1983 I wish.. I really miss her. And I pray everyday just to talk with her again even for just 1 minute. I think you experienced a miracle. And you should thank to our lord Jesus for that. I will pray for you and Jeff. Please pray for me and my aunt.
Jeff communicates using his entire being. Mind, body, and soul. When he expresses himself it all lines up. And it's a fucking *masterpiece.* I've known people like this, though they are painfully rare. They warm everyone fortunate enough to be near them. Like the sun. To know them is to love them. And they don't even have to try. You just want to be with them. Doing anything. Or doing nothing at all. To share experiences with them is just beyond comparison. Most of the joy comes from getting to witness their reaction in real-time. It's intoxicating. They make you feel safe. Sorta like you're indestructible. Like no matter what it is, or what happens next, to be with them is enough to make your whole world okay for a while. These types are a gift. More precious than diamonds. If you are loved by one, especially if you are entrusted by one, cherish them openly. And as often as you can. They tend to feel everything very deeply. This includes the bad stuff, making them quite tortured at times. And likely to spiral. They often need extra support, love, and assurance. And I mean lots of it. In quantities far more than most ever need. But they are not spiritual vampires, every bit of emotional labor you put into the relationship comes back, tenfold. It's in the way they experience it and feel it. Their kindness, their sincerity, their gratitude. And especially the love they feel for you. You can see it all over them. And god, does it ever turn your insides to mush. You'd move mountains for them. All they have to do is smile. I know it's a stretch to say this of Jeff since I didn't know him and have only seen him speaking in interviews and other precious little bits of media here and there. And of course, we are blessed to have his art. I can only know him through that. But I do know this "trait" (for lack of a better word) and it is almost always instantly identifiable. You don't need a lot of source material to know it when you see it. And it cannot be faked.
Jeff Buckley is a generational gem, I hope his music is remembered for generations. He was probably one of the kindest musicians, with an amazing voice
My chest aches now that I am thinking deeply about something so simple and natural, yet so devastating and heartbreaking... Jeff Buckley is no longer with us.
You're absolutely correct on that. He was doing the rounds of publicity on the day this interview got recorded. It's a shame that the full interview has never been aired for us to see :(
Man that brings back memories! I played “Grace” to death, and even transferred it to cassette so I could play it in my car and wore that out over two-plus years. I couldn’t wait until his follow-up. Then I came across a tiny article about his death in the local paper in May ‘97 (I wasn’t home much at a time and the internet was just gaining popularity). To put it lightly, I was floored. It was the first time in my life that I was saddened by the death of a “famous” person; and that remains the case today. I put t”famous” in quotation marks, because Jeff was far from famous in the sense that you didn’t hear his music on any radio stations outside of college radio; his two videos were relegated to the late night “alternative” program 120 minutes on MTV; and the sales of Grace were modest. I’m fairly certain a completed second album would have made him a star, as you could hear the potential of some of the tracks off of Sketches… It’s a bit odd that it took American Idol contestants’ renditions of his version of Cohen’s “Hallelujah” to foster his posthumous exposure to the public. But better late than never, I guess; and regardless of the source from which his talent gained wider exposure and appreciation.
Literally the 2nd coming of Hendrix, it influence so many artists in late 90s and 2000s Maroon 5, Muse, Coldplay, Radiohead & even some pop bands, just discovered his music and amazing..

I totally agree.
what an artist... the real last artist of our times... miss you Jeff
I think he looked completely lost and disturbed.
He was just a human being. All you nitwits bought into the romantic poet bullshit.

He’s in Heaven now
Martha beautifully stated! 🙏🇬🇧
That's very profound Martha
Very empathic answer, thanks alot
one of the most authentic and beautiful souls to ever exist. his life was poetry...not just his music.
There are some people that I just wish we could get back somehow ...
Easy enough to say from the outside
Because his dad died and then he died ? Poetry?

Such a tragedy. I have only recently come across his music. He was a very gifted artist indeed. 💖
He still changed music, had big influence on Thom yorke for instance.
