I'm so glad that helps. This is why celebrities and and film sets have makeup artist and hairstylist travel with them and touch them up between takes. Blush fades, concealer moves under our eyes and around our nose (smile lines) and lipstick of course fades. Then if you have a cold or a hot flash, forget it!🙄🤣

Bobbi Brown has the BEST powder bronzers. I try others and always go back. Medium is a perfect neutral brown, I can use it even on my fair skin for a natural hint of color. Just got the Makeup by Mario cream bronzer and a cream blush and like them a lot. Very intuitive and no fuss!

Thank. you, Christine! I was so shocked when I saw that it wasn't bad. I mean I knew it wasn't bad but I always cheated my line because I thought it needed to be better. What a moment! I edited about 20 minutes out of me looking in the mirror shocked. I know it's not that big of a difference but on an emotional self acceptance level, it was huge. It's crazy to think of the amount of my life that I've spent wishing I looked like someone else. Not to say that I'll never cheat my lip line again, but I'll be doing it for a different reason. It will be for the makeup look and not because I believe it's better than me. 🤗
Make up is so much like using paints and art products. The best tips I learned were by experimenting and doing things which made sense. I recently started sponging light loose powder over small areas of my cheeks after putting blush on - stays all day. I also use an eyeshadow (black) for my liner bc it stays all day, doesnt smudge. I think I will try a few of your recommendations!
Exactly! Makeup is our art and our faces are the canvas. I love trying new products and techniques and if it doesn't work the first time, it's so much fun to figure out how to fix it. Do you powder over a cream blush or a powder blush? I've only used eyeshadow for my eyeliners for years, but I recently followed a Natasha Denona tutorial, and she used the pencil, then the eyeshadow. I may be addicted to this technique. @@JulieMeikle I have been using a cream bronzer by MILK, then powder blush, then light loose powder. I dont know why I never thought of this! Its truly locks in my blush all day, doesnt take much product either, I never have found any liner which doesnt slide around - I have an old Morphe palette with black eyeshadow - super dry. I got a real skinny brush and have been using that for 6 months. Stays very well. My favorite make up artist is Sam Chapman in the UK. She doesnt do as much on youtube as instagram - however I relate to her style more than many american make up youtubers. She doesnt follow precise, structured methods as much. She has more of an edgy, messy, urban style. For sure I am more of a one and done gal, I am lucky to have decent skin, never have used concealer in my life and I am 64. I’m also from Canada and sales person at Saks Downtown in Toronto told me that their products had SPF but because of the Canadian rules it couldn’t show it on the packaging, I can’t really figure that one out. I’ve got your same colouring but I do purchase my blonde and I like your colors. The only thing I do different than you is I like to bronze because I like to have some colour in my face as I don’t self town because every time I self tanned it’s become, a big mess on my body in my house everywhere. As for your lips, I am so happy for you that you are not going to overline your lips in that brown all the influencers seem to be doing I can’t figure out what they think is pretty about that? A lot of tinted moisturizers have sunscreen in them but it's not labeled the same here as they are in the U.S. I believe it's because they don't have a DIN #. The regulations in Canada are different than in the U.S. It would costs too much money to get the DIN # so they alter their packaging instead. I love to bronze too but sometimes my mood changes. I love switching it up. What's your favourite bronzer? I found a new self tanner that I have to try. It's from the same brand I already use and love but they came out with a colourless mousse. That's exciting because I could put it on and leave the house with white clothes on. It's by Luna Bronze. I use their Eclipse and have for years. Their mitt is my favourite too. So good! and I tried the Maybelline Super Stay Longwear Liquid Concealer. I like it but I've only used it twice. I really have nothing bad to say about it but to highly recommend it, I want to use it more. I also love the L'Oreal True Match Serum foundaiton. What is the coverage of the Age Perfect Foundation?
@@JulieMeikleHi Julie I also use L'Oréal foundation...accord parfait, sous ton rose 1.R/1.C coverage is light, but does cover my red thread veins, have a few near cheek, I use very light foundation as I like a fairer look some ladies may prefer the more tanned look, but they do a nice selection of colours..I find it's great on my very dry skin, and lipsticks are gorgeous too..Not over pricey.. Thank you Julie, love your tutorials, and I'm also willing to try different brands..

It was important to match the clients skin to what they liked and not necessarily to their exact skin colour. That was a big lesson for me. Before that, I would try to convince clients that my suggestion was correct. 🙄Some of my actions in the past are embarrassing to think about, but I didn't know better. As to Hypnose Drama, I prefer a thick lash look over a long lash, and that brush delivers. No problems with flaking, but I've never checked for stiffness, interestingly enough. I don't worry about curl because I use the one and only Shu Uemura eyelash curler (for 20 counts each eye) -- best I've found. Thanks again for such a refreshing, informative channel!

What a shame it rained for your visit. I grew up in Ont and slowly started moving west with my hubby over the years - just love the mountains. As for Chantecaille, I really like the lip chic in Amour and each year pick up one or two in their seasonal campaign. Thank you, Teresa. I agree. This is the gift I've been given with age. Well, kind of. I do get cosmetic treatments to help slow the aging process but at the same time I'm becoming less judgemental of myself. I had no confidence when I was younger and always wished I looked like someone else. Now, I want to look like the best version of myself. Not to say, I'll never overdraw my lips again but if I do it again, it won't be because I don't like my natural lips. I edited out about 20 minutes of me looking in the mirror with shock. I know it's not that big of a difference but it was like a huge moment for me. 🤗

So since then I try to remind myself I’m so lucky to be here. And I try to just appreciate what I have and find the positive in life. Even in myself. 😍 I had an epiphany filming this video, Natasha. You know, I look at my 3 daughters and love their features. I would never change their lips. I'm not sure why I have been doing it for so long. I'm sure it's because I was watching everyone else do it. I do like how it looks on other women and don't mind it on myself, but I agree with you. It really is. MAC was my first love, as it was for many, I'm sure. I find the shadows so user friendly. They're pigmented but not so overly pigmented that it takes work to blend them out and they have very little fall out, if any. I have the warm Connect In Four palette as well but I love the neutrals the best for my skin tone. Do you own this palette, Audrey?

I have used BareMinerals before. I actually worked with them when I first started posting videos. Do you use the powders or the liquids? Do you choose that brand because it's mineral? I've used the pressed powder foundation and enjoyed that. I have to make sure my skin is prepped well because my skin can feel a little dry around my mouth when I use powder foundations. My skin liked the feel of the loose powder better but I liked the finish of the pressed powder better. I haven't tried their liquid foundations or tinted moisturizers though. Yeah, tell me what products you have of theirs and what products you'd like to know about. I'd be happy to try more for sure. I still own both of the powders. I can absolutely work on a video showing both of them. Thank you for the suggestion. Also, I have a couple of the lip pencils and a red liquid lipstick. Yay! I'm excited now.

LOL! You could do videos with me, Maria.😍 I usually don't use a powder over the bronzer but sometimes I do. It depends on the foundation I use and how slippery my skin feels. I've had 4 treatments of the Morpheus8 Radio Frequency Microneedling. I know that's getting a bad reputation on the internet but my treatments worked. I've seen the same Nurse since 2019 and I trust her fully. She knows her stuff and constantly educates herself and her staff. It hurts but it's worth it. I have videos here showing the treatment. Unfortunately, they're in vertical format but they're worth watching. I save money on skin care and put it toward getting services done. I'm very basic with my skin care. Not inexpensive but basic.🤗 Have you had any cosmetics treatments? Hi Suzanne! I'm so happy we found each other! Where are you from? Are you talking about the Prime Libre loose powders? I think I bought mine in the wrong colour. Everyone loves the #3 powder and mine is lighter and I think that's why I'm not seeing what all the hype is about. It makes sense that I don't like it if it's too light because anything too light will do that. Have you tried it? I love the cream blushes but I know what you mean. They don't seem to last as long unless you layer it with a powder blush. I love the hourglass blushes. Have you tried those before? They're beautiful to layer over top of a cream blush or on their own. Diffused heat is my favourite. It used to be mood exposure. I love that one too but I've been liking more colour lately. Both are beautiful. Do you use setting sprays? I do but I need to pay more attention. I'd like to spray one side with a setting spray and the other without to see the difference at the end of the day.
I just got the CT pillow talk lipstick finally and it looks awful on me. I'm going to give it to my daughter. I think I was just hyped up to much. Make up just looks awful on me, but I'm still trying.

Ok, so I found out that Bobbi Brown just repacked her bronzers so the medium is still available. Thank goodness. It's the best one I've found for my tones. What concealers have you tried? We can fix this issue for sure. What foundation do you use and what colour? What are you trying to conceal under your eyes? Do you have a lot of darkness, or are you like me that has that bit in the corner? When I have this information, I hopefully can guide you with the colour choice.🤗
Regarding the sponge top squeeze tubes: I’ve actually removed the sponge. (Yeah… be prepared for the messiness, since there’s is a lot of product in the sponge. Just rip it off, while wearing disposable gloves or holding a tissue.) Don’t worry. This will only damage the sponge which you’ll will toss anyway. That will expose a “typical” squeeze tip. The locking mechanism and cap will still work. And now you have a squeeze tube that allows for better control dispensing.
I realized I forget the eyebrows as I was editing. I love the Kosas Brow Pop Nano. It's been my favourite to use. I have the colour soft brown. That would be my top luxury brand pick. I also love the Charlotte Tilbury. The pencil is nice and the feel of the packing is like holding a beautiful pen. It's also refillable so the cost is reasonable to repurchase. Of course ABH Brow wiz is great. I'm testing out a lot of drugstore brow products too. It's finding the right colour for me that's hard. I really like the L'Oreal brow pencil I'm using now but I'm not fond of the colour I picked. I need a colour that's warm but not too warm and not too dark. Kosas is my perfect colour.

I know it's not that big of a difference but on an emotional self acceptance level, it was huge. It's crazy to think of the amount of my life that I've spent wishing I looked like someone else.
Not to say that I'll never cheat my lip line again, but I'll be doing it for a different reason. It will be for the makeup look and not because I believe it's better than me. 🤗
Make up is so much like using paints and art products. The best tips I learned were by experimenting and doing things which made sense. I recently started sponging light loose powder over small areas of my cheeks after putting blush on - stays all day. I also use an eyeshadow (black) for my liner bc it stays all day, doesnt smudge. I think I will try a few of your recommendations!
Exactly! Makeup is our art and our faces are the canvas. I love trying new products and techniques and if it doesn't work the first time, it's so much fun to figure out how to fix it.

I've only used eyeshadow for my eyeliners for years, but I recently followed a Natasha Denona tutorial, and she used the pencil, then the eyeshadow. I may be addicted to this technique. Sometimes I get stuck in my ways. Did you see that video?

@@JulieMeikle I have been using a cream bronzer by MILK, then powder blush, then light loose powder. I dont know why I never thought of this! Its truly locks in my blush all day, doesnt take much product either, I never have found any liner which doesnt slide around - I have an old Morphe palette with black eyeshadow - super dry. I got a real skinny brush and have been using that for 6 months. Stays very well. My favorite make up artist is Sam Chapman in the UK. She doesnt do as much on youtube as instagram - however I relate to her style more than many american make up youtubers. She doesnt follow precise, structured methods as much. She has more of an edgy, messy, urban style. For sure I am more of a one and done gal, I am lucky to have decent skin, never have used concealer in my life and I am 64. I’m also from Canada and sales person at Saks Downtown in Toronto told me that their products had SPF but because of the Canadian rules it couldn’t show it on the packaging, I can’t really figure that one out. I’ve got your same colouring but I do purchase my blonde and I like your colors. The only thing I do different than you is I like to bronze because I like to have some colour in my face as I don’t self town because every time I self tanned it’s become, a big mess on my body in my house everywhere. As for your lips, I am so happy for you that you are not going to overline your lips in that brown all the influencers seem to be doing I can’t figure out what they think is pretty about that? The sales person was right. A lot of tinted moisturizers have sunscreen in them but it's not labeled the same here as they are in the U.S. I believe it's because they don't have a DIN #. The regulations in Canada are different than in the U.S. It would costs too much money to get the DIN # so they alter their packaging instead.

I found a new self tanner that I have to try. It's from the same brand I already use and love but they came out with a colourless mousse. That's exciting because I could put it on and leave the house with white clothes on. It's by Luna Bronze. I use their Eclipse and have for years. Their mitt is my favourite too. It washes really nice and last for a very long time.

I have a whole pile of drugstore makeup to film for my favourites. There's so many good products out. I just tried the Revlon Illuminance foundation. So good! and I tried the Maybelline Super Stay Longwear Liquid Concealer. I like it but I've only used it twice. I really have nothing bad to say about it but to highly recommend it, I want to use it more.
I also love the L'Oreal True Match Serum foundaiton.
What is the coverage of the Age Perfect Foundation?
@@JulieMeikleHi Julie I also use L'Oréal foundation...accord parfait, sous ton rose 1.R/1.C coverage is light, but does cover my red thread veins, have a few near cheek, I use very light foundation as I like a fairer look some ladies may prefer the more tanned look, but they do a nice selection of colours..I find it's great on my very dry skin, and lipsticks are gorgeous too..Not over pricey.. Thank you Julie, love your tutorials, and I'm also willing to try different brands..
It’s a medium coverage to full coverage and mine is the 150 cream beige.
@@bstanford-n3g Thank you for this. Interesting that you like a lighter foundation. This is something I learned when I worked at MAC. It was important to match the clients skin to what they liked and not necessarily to their exact skin colour. That was a big lesson for me. Before that, I would try to convince clients that my suggestion was correct. 🙄Some of my actions in the past are embarrassing to think about, but I didn't know better.

As to Hypnose Drama, I prefer a thick lash look over a long lash, and that brush delivers. No problems with flaking, but I've never checked for stiffness, interestingly enough. I don't worry about curl because I use the one and only Shu Uemura eyelash curler (for 20 counts each eye) -- best I've found. Thanks again for such a refreshing, informative channel!

Thank you, Teresa. I agree. This is the gift I've been given with age. Well, kind of. I do get cosmetic treatments to help slow the aging process but at the same time I'm becoming less judgemental of myself. I had no confidence when I was younger and always wished I looked like someone else. Now, I want to look like the best version of myself.
Not to say, I'll never overdraw my lips again but if I do it again, it won't be because I don't like my natural lips. I edited out about 20 minutes of me looking in the mirror with shock. I know it's not that big of a difference but it was like a huge moment for me. 🤗

So since then I try to remind myself I’m so lucky to be here. And I try to just appreciate what I have and find the positive in life. Even in myself. The "MAC" palette is beautiful
It really is. MAC was my first love, as it was for many, I'm sure. I find the shadows so user friendly. They're pigmented but not so overly pigmented that it takes work to blend them out and they have very little fall out, if any. I have the warm Connect In Four palette as well but I love the neutrals the best for my skin tone.

I have used BareMinerals before. I actually worked with them when I first started posting videos. Do you use the powders or the liquids? Do you choose that brand because it's mineral?
I've used the pressed powder foundation and enjoyed that. I have to make sure my skin is prepped well because my skin can feel a little dry around my mouth when I use powder foundations. My skin liked the feel of the loose powder better but I liked the finish of the pressed powder better.
I haven't tried their liquid foundations or tinted moisturizers though.
Yeah, tell me what products you have of theirs and what products you'd like to know about. I'd be happy to try more for sure.

Bareminerals is my favourite brand. I have and use many of their products. Their original loose powder foundation is perfection!

LOL! You could do videos with me, Maria.😍 I usually don't use a powder over the bronzer but sometimes I do. It depends on the foundation I use and how slippery my skin feels.
I've had 4 treatments of the Morpheus8 Radio Frequency Microneedling. I know that's getting a bad reputation on the internet but my treatments worked. I've seen the same Nurse since 2019 and I trust her fully. She knows her stuff and constantly educates herself and her staff. It hurts but it's worth it.
I have videos here showing the treatment. Unfortunately, they're in vertical format but they're worth watching. I save money on skin care and put it toward getting services done. I'm very basic with my skin care. Not inexpensive but basic.🤗

The device is getting a bad reputation because it can melt fat but it's not the device that's the problem. The device is amazing. It's the person doing the treatment who needs to know what they're doing.

Are you talking about the Prime Libre loose powders? I think I bought mine in the wrong colour. Everyone loves the #3 powder and mine is lighter and I think that's why I'm not seeing what all the hype is about. It makes sense that I don't like it if it's too light because anything too light will do that. Have you tried it?
I love the cream blushes but I know what you mean. They don't seem to last as long unless you layer it with a powder blush.
I love the hourglass blushes. Have you tried those before? They're beautiful to layer over top of a cream blush or on their own. Diffused heat is my favourite. It used to be mood exposure. I love that one too but I've been liking more colour lately. Both are beautiful.
Do you use setting sprays? I do but I need to pay more attention. I'd like to spray one side with a setting spray and the other without to see the difference at the end of the day.
I just got the CT pillow talk lipstick finally and it looks awful on me. I'm going to give it to my daughter. I think I was just hyped up to much. Make up just looks awful on me, but I'm still trying.

Ok, so I found out that Bobbi Brown just repacked her bronzers so the medium is still available. Thank goodness. It's the best one I've found for my tones.
What concealers have you tried? We can fix this issue for sure. What foundation do you use and what colour? What are you trying to conceal under your eyes? Do you have a lot of darkness, or are you like me that has that bit in the corner?

Regarding the sponge top squeeze tubes: I’ve actually removed the sponge. (Yeah… be prepared for the messiness, since there’s is a lot of product in the sponge. Just rip it off, while wearing disposable gloves or holding a tissue.) Don’t worry. This will only damage the sponge which you’ll will toss anyway. That will expose a “typical” squeeze tip. The locking mechanism and cap will still work. And now you have a squeeze tube that allows for better control dispensing.

I realized I forget the eyebrows as I was editing. I love the Kosas Brow Pop Nano. It's been my favourite to use. I have the colour soft brown. That would be my top luxury brand pick. I also love the Charlotte Tilbury. The pencil is nice and the feel of the packing is like holding a beautiful pen. It's also refillable so the cost is reasonable to repurchase. Of course ABH Brow wiz is great.
I'm testing out a lot of drugstore brow products too. It's finding the right colour for me that's hard. I really like the L'Oreal brow pencil I'm using now but I'm not fond of the colour I picked. I need a colour that's warm but not too warm and not too dark. Kosas is my perfect colour.
