Join us LIVE TONIGHT at 8PM EST to watch the scariest videos on the internet! Wear your brown pants!
Will be there! Also, I nominate Justin long to be in the new Halloween reboot! The guy is just awesome
My pants will be on extra Tight
The kids actors in this series was pretty impressive, they gave me a similar feeling to the new scream crew and I loved it.
I was impressed too!
@@Worthless.early 30s Wtf🤣🤣 u must be 11 I’m 28 and all these Mfs look Hella younger then me
@@ezyduzit423 I am in college and I would say they would look normal on campus, probably like 20 or 21, still close enough to 17.
I was already excited for this based on Justin Long being involved, but now you got me hyped! I’ve been swamped with Flanagan’s new show and gen v but I’m definitely gonna start this soon
I need to watch the new Flanagan too!
I loved the OG show. I wasn’t sure about the connecting storylines at first, but I found myself binging all 5 eps to see what happened next. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it
Same here!
Not "Say Cheese And Die" being apart of this lol! That story freaked me out as a kid. Loved what Leigh Janiak did with the Fear Street Trilogy so glad to hear this one is a winner for entry-level horror.
Hells yeah!
I don't like it but can definitely see alot of people liking it and it brings a new generation to the brand and I can always get behind that
Love your attitude we need more folks like ya!
It doesn't bring a new generation. Kids have been reading Goosebumps long before this re-imagined show; 90's, 2K, etc.
Kids deserve more gateway horror. The Thing is a great introduction to horror 🙃
haha yeah wont fuck em up a bit!
The Thing...bitch please. Start em with a double header of A Serbian Film and Gutterballs.
In my opinion that is best halloween horror month intro..when loomis whips Michael with the belt HILARIOUSLY 😂😂😂😂
I think the original show did it right, by following the books and made it a lot more TRUE to how Goosebumps should be portrayed.
I get why the movies combined everything into ONE fluid story, because there are so many books and ONLY one movie.
However,
When you're making a new series with many episodes vs 1 movie, it makes NO SENSE to have it as one fluid story
I mean did Twilight Zone do that?
Or Creepshow?
So in the world, would they do it other than to copy more the movie than actually allow the stories to breathe on their own
I couldn't even make it through the first episode, once I realized the same characters were going to be in every episode
It seems like they're trying to be more like American Horror story and LESS like the Goosebumps books R L Stone created
If the 90s already did it, why do it again? Also, I think they wanted to make a story as well as do goosebumps.
The reason being
The stories are written with completely different characters, and it makes sense to do them... The way the books lay them out there, with updated visual effects etc
Now if they were written as on continuous story, with overlapping characters etc... Ok
But it's just not how they were intended
Plus, the cast and costumes are kinda lame... Even if this is newer
It just kind of falls flat for me
Not very good
The original series was cheesy
But at least, it was more like the books
The movie had so much material to choose from,.so it made sense to include most of the books
.but in a series, you can flesh out certain stories more
I give this Goosebumps reboot a 3-4 out of 10
@JNB0723 Your own comment doesn't sell the idea by saying they wanted to tell their story...well, using the Goosebumps name.
I didn’t like it and I loved the 90’s one. Disney plus and the wokeness probably ruined yet another great thing but I’m used to it at this point.
🎯
I don’t mind the show being Darker, but i hate how they simply refuse to do anthology styled shows for a lot of these books series. The original show was an anthology series, why is this trying to be a knock of Eerie Indiana/ Twin Peaks. But whatever, they will never get anything right anymore. SMH 🤦
I think it must be a casting thing or something. Maybe its harder to get through all the red tape these days?
I laugh every time when Loomis jumps out at Michael at the door in that goosebumps horror month intro
I'd prefer more of an Anthology, also it doesn't have the OG Theme
Love it but def wouldn't have vibed with the mood of this one lol
I get put off when the priority when making Disney content is a forced diversity tick box exercise casting list...and here we have an exercise in it .. Asian American girl, black boy, black girl, gay white boy is the main group....
🎯
My 8-year-old said he liked the old episodes better. He was obsessed with the mask episode from the 90s. Even though this is scarier he liked what I grew up on. Proud parent here. I didn't mind this one myself. I felt like it could of been better.
I think a lot of people are still adjusting. This is like goosebumps but like for young gen z.
I watched 2 episodes so far, absolutely digging it, way darker than anything goosebumps before, plus justin long I mean he's amazing
I'm pleased to hear the show wasn't terrible, however almost nothing could make me pay for Disney+🤢🤮
It’s on Hulu
The show is horrible.
Justin Long’s character’s name is Mr. Bratt. What was it Trish kept calling Darry in “Jeepers Creepers”? 😝
Holy crap if they did that on purpose that's rad
@@WeWatchedAMovie I don’t know for certain if they did, but it is an odd coincidence.
I'm loving the "old Horror month intro" intros.
Thanks bro! I have more new stuff to film too!
I couldn't even get past 10 minutes in the first episode before they were promoting and pushing the gay agenda... it's absolutely ridiculous.
Same here. It's just pandering garbage.
Could not get through the first episode. The teenage writing is so cringe
It’s marketed to high school seniors and college students. Except, once you’re in high school, you don’t dress up anymore. And you wouldn’t be caught dead with relics like they’ve been caught with. All of the teenage soap opera junk is exactly what college is. It Does take away A lot of enjoyment for Me because Goosebumps is scary, but it’s not an agenda pushing cringy franchise. It reminds me of what they did to the Muppets. The muppets had a reality show that basically made a soap opera of what was an icon.
This would Not appeal to teens. At least the Smart ones. This is catered to everything that’s WRong with high school and you Wanna escape. I would’ve hated it then, as I would now. The only character that resembles Actual high school is the guy who eats the worms. But I’m sure they’ll wreck him with a relationship. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ It’s just funny how “Women don’t need no man!” Yet “Men Need women.” I haven’t met a dude yet who remotely cares about relationships, unless she’s “hot.” It’s Always the girls who want a guy.
I’m surprised you remotely liked this because of how much you hated the Amanda part of Saw X. This is essentially Goosebumps (Jigsaw) and these college thinking teens (Amanda). It just needed to be about Justin Long and the dude who ate worms. The other characters were totally forgettable. How do I know?? I thought that mom who works in the psych ward, was the mom that was busy traveling. So when they were talking to each other, I actually laughed because both were invisible. 🤣🤣 And I thought that “haunted” mask girl was the one who got stuck in Readers Beware. 🤣🤣🤣 The only story I liked was Don’t Eat Worms, but I still don’t know how exactly he had the worms that whole time, but supposedly only ate it on His episode. Would’ve made So much more sense if he just ate them the whole time. Would explain his personality.
Not even Goosebumps is safe from being trashed. I’ll stick to the classics once again. It would’ve made more sense if R. L. Stine just made a Haunting Hour series again. That’s exactly for high schoolers and college students. The Disney series is what I would’ve thought you felt about Amanda. You’re confusing me now. DO YOU LIKE AMANDA NOW??? 🙀🙀🙀🙀
you and me have that in common, i collect those books but i never read it. 😂 also im made at best but for taking our physical media 😢
cause of you, i will check it out! thanks for the review
Cheers to us for being honest! lol
I seriously doubt anyone's judgment who thinks this show has any semblance of decency. It sucks. Plain and simple.
🎯
U summed my childhood with goosebumps lol. Never read them but enjoyed collecting them
lmao we're pieces of crap
Awesome stuff. The gf and I will probably binge it this weekend.
Hope you dig it!
I love it, I've noticed the score for the show is very reminiscent of the 90s show, with the sharp string stings etc, I like to think in the latest episode the doorways in the vacuum was an Easter egg for the 90s show intro when it pans to the house
I'm literally just watching the last two episodes. As a kid who watched back in the day. Very cool to watch a new one 😊 very pleased
I kinda have mixed opinions about the Goosebumps reboot, On the one hand I do think that it's an interesting "Modern" take on the classic franchise. But on the other hand it was instantly plain to see that this reboot would never become as classic or live up to the legacy of the original Goosebumps series, I mean it most likely was never meant to but I'm just saying.
And I was amazed that they got Justin Long, The actor who played Darry Jenner in Jeepers Creepers to play in this series! He did an outstanding job!
Agree it's good but it ain't goosebumps didn't get that feeling that you still get watching old episodes
Hard to recreate for sure!
Sounds fun, I'll give it a shot. Fear Street was awesome, I wish there was something like that every year!
Me too!
@@WeWatchedAMovie Have you seen "Dark Harvest" by David Slade? It was released a couple of days ago. That looks like a good Halloween watch this year. I certainly will save it for the 31st.
Honestly James is my fave character and honestly the line that made me chuckle was "we're murder nepo babies" and I need that on a shirt 😂
He’s definitely my least favorite.
@@jessejive117 He's okay, it just sucks the writers gave him the worst episode. And they just don't seem to write him very well.
I've only seen the pilot so far and I thought it was really good. I can't wait to see the rest. I want to know where this storyline goes. The episode I am the most excited about is night of the living dummy. Those are my favorites in the book franchise. Night of the living dummy III and the haunted mask II are my favorite books in the franchise. It's a tie
I hope you dig the rest! The dummy is supposedly in the back half of episodes
@@WeWatchedAMovie The Slappy episode was probably the best storytelling, Go Eat Worms is still my favorite character episode (that one scene with Lucas was great)
Arent they doing more fear streets mike??? Anyways hope you guys had a great Thanksgiving.
While I definitely liked Goosebumps (the books were always my go to at the school book fair lol), as far as the show I was more of an “Are you afraid of the dark” kid.
Are You Afraid of the dark ruled!
It was "The Haunting Hour" for me. Some of those episodes were not PG... some of them still give me nightmares. And I am an adult now.
Yeah, are you afraid of the dark was amazing
I think this show is great. It doesn’t feel like goosebumps (like at all to me) but as a show on its own, it’s great and it does capture the storyline of the books very well. The atmosphere and gloominess feels very off brand for Goosebumps though. I’m excited for future episodes nonetheless.
Im 40 and still remember sitting across in a chair when i was a kid and reading Goosebumps books..i still have the ones i had as a kid.
And yes Justin Long is so dam underated in horror
It took me 10x longer to finish the series cuz it was SO BORING I kept realizing I wasn’t watching the show. Not subtle at all with the wokeness (though they tried to be) and the plot seemed all over the place. Like what is goosebumps about love affairs etc
Noice! Been debating on watching it. Only thought twice because Justin is in it and you know nostalgia and what not.
just finished the show tonight, honestly it was an okay except for the last two episodes. The feel incredibly tacked on where as the story had a good conclusion on the 3rd to last
I need to check out the 2nd half!
I'm so glad someone made a video on the Goosebumps reboot. Cheers , man
It looks like not many care much haha I thought the series would be bigger!
I never read mine ethier lol
Lol!! The books are great!! So I’ve been told!!!😂
Mike, you ever think about starting your own MysSci3000 -esque show and cover popular Horror? Itd tune in to watch you guys do your own commentaries.
We have over 100 of em on our patreon my good man!
Gotta Love the theme song
I’m waiting for the last 5 episodes to come out on Hulu
After all the 10 eps being out I loved it. The ending was slightly lacklustre imo but I can’t wait for the next season but it hurts me to see the show not get a lot of attention for how good it is
I remember my nan moaning at me, they were a waste of money cuz all I did was like the covers, I think if I remember the front cover was also raised, kind of bumpy? the word goosebumps you could feel it....idk tho, that might be just me😂
It's more Nightmare on Elm Street with Goosebumps added to it.
The next five don’t come out on the 20th. They’re releasing ever episode, one by one, in fridays. That’s at least what they’re release date says online. I hope I’m wrong.
Homosexual woke agenda within 10 mins of the first episode..
Cry about it gay people exist 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
It reminded me a lot of Mystery Incorporated
You gotta watch The Fall of the House of Usher and review! So good, and some really sick shenanigans going down.
I'm proud to of been a giga chad that read all of them in a month, even read his biography book "It Came from Ohio! "
RL was the Stephen king for kids
definitely!
I would love to see a beast from the east episode I thought that book was freaky !
7.5/10 for me. Once I adjusted, I enjoyed. Episode 4 and on is good, and balances emotion with humor and pacing.
I tried to like it but i just couldn't so boring I kept falling asleep.
Patiently waiting for your thoughts on Mike Flanagan's Fall Of The House Of Usher. 👀
“The books are great! Idk I didn’t read em!” 😂
The truth shall have its day!
@@WeWatchedAMovie and the pen is blue!
My kids loved this. It's not too much for kids, but scary enough to keep them interested. Justin Long is making a strong case for the title of scream king
Couldn't agree with this comment more!
Based on everyone else's comments, this is gonna be the unpopular opinion. This is garbage. It's a total "try hard". I get the demo, which I'm not, but the writing is agonizingly bleh. And the no offense to the actors, but they don't redeem the writing. Just more Disney pappy crap. Only thing I agree with is Justin Long's involvement. He's great and makes me want a show that's just centered around him, non-goosebumps. Very meh.
Oh man, Justin Long? Don't let him and his friends around your kids..
I have no idea what you mean
It's very Gen-Z with how the teens act and of course it has a gay kid but it's fine overall.
I watched the first 2 episodes I thought it was pretty good !
im a simple guy, i see Lexa Doig, i watch
Started this last night with the kids - really really liked it. And the teens aren't total duche bags!!
the first 5 episodes are amazing, cant wait for more!!!!!!
I'm stoked to see where it goes too!
Little off topic but have you watched Never hike Alone 2 yet? I liked it alot
Yes! Its awesome. Recorded a commentary for patreon & will have a review up tomm!
I'm looking forward to watching it
So I absolutely loved Goosebumps as a kid so much so I made a video about The Haunted Mask episode, that being said I was looking forward to this series adaptation and I was disappointed at first. They changed the mask and it took me until half the episode why and I kinda enjoyed it more. The girl who was supposed to be Carly Beth is a troll on Twitter on the show causing her to turn into a troll and I thought that was cool. Overall the idea of a continuation for the series has been a welcomed change and I look forward to hopefully more BUT FUCK THAT NEW THEME
Yeah I am with you, I wanna see for once a bright green haunted mask like on the cover of the VHS lol
Didn't like this at all.
I like it but the whole step sibling thing is throwing me off massively
Justin long is great in barbarian
That Chris Stuckman dude ripped off your movie rental background for his lame Halloween horror movie reviews.
I hope it's great goosebumps is why I'm a horror fan but I never really like the TV show we got but I can tell u this from the previews that show didn't look that great I hope it is but idk why they changed the theme song that's one of the greatest theme songs I've ever heard Is this new show like the old one where every episode is a new book hopefully it is then I might love the new show idk
It's definitely nothing like the old show. It's got a totally different vibe and is a bit more adult and serious for sure. Think Stranger Things light with Goosebumps fun
@@WeWatchedAMovie I just finished the first episode Mike and I'll admit it was a lot better than I thought it would be it's also nice to have something goosebumps that slappy isn't the central focus of as whell
Wish I had kids to watch this lol
wheres the pet sematary bloodlines review yall promised huh?😘
On our podcast! The video file got corrupted
Creepshow is even better.
Justin Long is in an episode of that too!
Lol, both happen to be the best horror TV shows of 2023.@@WeWatchedAMovie
I think it’s sucked. I’m sorry didn’t like it at all.
People are trashing this show in the comments but I think it’s pretty decent. It’s definitely different from the original so maybe that’s why people are so upset. I haven’t enjoyed a modern teen show in a very long time but this one’s actually engaging enough to make me want to keep watching and I’m excited to see how it ends. Anyone else agree?
The Gen-Z stuff is a little eye rolling at times but it's decent overall.
It's not good that's why people are trashing it.
I've only seen the pilot so far and I thought it was really good. I can't wait to see the rest. I want to know where this storyline goes.
