For those of you who haven't read The Road, I have a feeling the film will live up to the book so you can wait and watch it. This composer being behind the music for such a powerful story gives chills down my spine. McCormac's usage of Dystopia like stories is so entrapping.
This is from the soundtrack to a film called "The Proposition" which Nick Cave did the screenplay for. It's a fantastic film, enhanced by a terific soundtrack. Listen to 'The Rider Song' (see related) for another beautiful song by the pair.
Like all Nick Cave and Warren Ellis songs, I think it's all in the bass. The really strong undertones give it that character that makes it so distinctive and sets up a nice contrast with the lonely wails of the violin. Truly beautiful music, I think these guys are the best in the business at the moment :)

Beautiful. Haunting. Brilliant.
The best western since Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven. Amazing film.
