    9:31 I don't think it works like you describe it. Mastery casts the spells at the same time, so even if you can choose the order to cast, you still have to cast all of them before Judith triggers. Still tho, nice deck 😏

      Oh my good god you're right. That actually sucks. It still fits for the recursion of each card it can cast but dang. That actually sucks. I've had a lot of people tell me things I said are wrong and usually i just misspoke or the wording was confusing, this was just straight up wrong. Absolutely phenomenal catch!!! I'ma pin it, its super important.

      @@PowerBudgetTCG ok so i did some sluthing and talked with some judges...two things.
      firstly mizzix's mastery says you "may" cast those spells. this is an term allowing you to choose some spells, not to cast, if you dont want to or cant afford extra costs(this also means you can avoid killing yourself with "every player" damage spells).
      secondly judith would see every spell cast with mizzix's mastery. they may all be cast at that same moment but they all go on the stack in any chosen order and resolve as normal. meaning you are/were somewhat correct with the timing. how ever you will only have 1 imp you could sac during this interaction and thats from judiths trigger on mizzix's mastery. so if you have 6 spells in the grave from MM and 2 are sac spells and 4 are burn spells. you can only cast one of the sac spells without sacing judith(or another key piece). so you have to choose not to cast one of the sac spells and then you throw all the other spells on the stack in what ever order you feel like and remove the imp when the sac spell goes on the stack then add 5 judith triggers at the top of the stack. this is also when you would make treasures with storm-kiln. its annoyingly complicated but you can add the lifelink and deathtouch to all those tasty spells. so the feeling of watching 20-25 spells fly off the handle from your grave will be glorious as your life pool floods and your opponents will drain dry as will their creatures.

      @@jauntyjack The shipping on TCG player can be a real pain. Most every deck is costed by price per card and excludes shipping. When doing TCG player thats what gets ya, and Card Kingdom has price minimums too so you could get locked into a more expensive version of a card.
      Here's a pro tip (not a joke either):
      To maximize shipping cost when i buy my decks I usually save up a couple at a time then buy them at once. Its usially a whole lot closer to the stated price for each deck since a place could have more pieces for each of the other decks and it minimizes shipping.
      And don't forget to maximize your potential by "Optimizing Cart" and letting damaged cards get sold. They need homes too and most of the time the damage isnt that bad.

    this has always seemed like a commander that looks like it does more than it actually does. In the end, a lot of storm decks fall into this trap where all the cards are fantastic with the commander out, but without the commander you're doing.... pretty much nothing. And when you have to wait for 5 mana to get your commander out, (or 6 mana to get it out and protect it), you just aren't doing anything for most of the game.
    My initial worry was that, while leaning into imps, you wouldn't really have the chance to get enough imps to sacrifice. Most of your cards either pay off for having imps (by being able to sacrifice them for a ton of value), or would rather have deathtouch and lifelink. Looking at the decklist, however, there are still plenty of cards that just serve to get you some cards and some value, and these are perfect for getting the imps needed for a boardstate and for the imp payoffs. This does seem a little slow, but once you have enough mana, doesn't seem too bad.
    Lastly, I wanted to say I think raphael, fiendish savior would probably be a better include than whip of erebos. It gives all your imps lifelink, but it also buffs them while being a pretty decent threat in the air. While the one red additional is definitely a steep upcost, especially when it competes with your commander for the 5-drop curve (although you probably want to wait until 6 mana to protect judith anyway), I think the extra buff and the threat of a huge board state makes it scary enough to include over whip of erebos.

    • @PowerBudgetTCG
      @PowerBudgetTCG  8 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah, raph is better and actually budget as opposed to the whip.
      Additionally your observation on the play speed is quite astute. If you notice your playgroup has different deck requirementst (you need more ramp, games end faster, removal is more prevalent) then those would be the areas i'd recommend upgrading. As strong as I can make my decks, a good portion of them are ripe for upgrades. Even without them they still hold up on average though. I played Judith a bunch at Magic Con: Chicago and played as archenemy for a good number of games.

    • @PowerBudgetTCG
      @PowerBudgetTCG  8 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome rules point to make with that (I think wither is super fun, too)! I assume you're talking about the card Puncture Blast. It deals 3 damage to any target and the spell itself has wither. Even though its placing -1/-1 counters on a creature (if it hits one) but the wording for wither (and infect for that matter) specifically says "Deals damage in the form of -1/-1 counters" so it would still gain the lifelink and deathtouch just the same and gain life and kill the creature the same as 3 damage regular. I would run it if you see a lot of

    I've bought this deck following your list and just started receiving some of the cards !
    Can't wait to play it and lose all my friends !
    But i've seen that you added Krark, The Thumbless in the deck and some stuff needs to be pointed at :
    Krark's ability happens at the same time as Judith's so, it's better to put Judith's ability first on the stack, so you can choose the imps and have them even if you lose the coin flip.
    But, if you win the coin flip, the copy of a spell happens on the stack, which means that it is not casted, so Judith's ability won't trigger.
    Correct me if i'm wrong but i believe that this is how it works ?
    Anyway thanks a lot for the cool list, keep up the great work ! Cheers from Paris, France !

    • @PowerBudgetTCG
      @PowerBudgetTCG  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, copied spell means double value, returned spell means you still cast and recieved the imp. A Village Rites cast will require a sacrificed imp and 2 to each opponent. If it comes back Judith still makes another imp and you get to pay one to try again doing to more to each. Once copied it means 4 cards drawn but dont get to make additional imp.

    The first win con that actually comes to mind with this commander is Blasphemous act/star of extinction and Toralf, God of Fury. that just straight wins the game as long as your opponents have enough creatures on the board. which isn't many. with everyone at starting life totals, there only needs to be 12 creatures on board under opponents control, and honestly by the time you have Judith, Toralf and blasphemous act cast, there's likely way more creatures and way lower life totals.

    So, quick queston about the Whip of Erebos inclusion: if you let your commander go to your graveyard after it dies, can you use the Whip's activated ability to squeeze out one more turn of her? I imagine that this isn't very useful at the start of the game but when she's been killed three or four times it might come in handy, right?

    • @PowerBudgetTCG
      @PowerBudgetTCG  8 месяцев назад

      Yep, that would absolutely work. It'll exile her and you can choose the command zone when that happens, but be very careful with that because the whip forces you to activate it at sorcery speed. So if you put Judith to the grave and someone removes the whip before you get back to your turn she is stuck there until you somehow move her out of there which the base deck doesn't have.

    I don't really see anything THAT egregious against rule 0 in the list. It's a good deck that does a lot with its limited budget, but this shouldn't cause much table flipping among reasonable players. The commander costs five so without the expensive fast mana to ramp her out the deck immediately becomes much more fair. Players should have a board to meet with your deck by the time it gets going. Additionally, the plays that cause huge swings in life require multiple cards to set up and substantial mana which make them fair finishers.
    That's not at all a criticism! I think it's fun and a perfect example good sporting casual!
