The Roves are the best jangly guitar rock and roll band the world has heard in a while! Springing from the suburbs of North London chief songwriter James Wing along with his little brother Tom and the hard grafted rhythm section of Luke Evans and Brendan Monahan recorded the tracks 'Hey Little Man' and 'Once A Prefect' at Ray Davies KONK studios in London, in May 2019. Both songs appear on their latest album 'All Those Freaks' as original lighter versions than the punchy numbers we have here.
The Roves new summer smash was recorded to tape and the vinyl cut was made from the lacquer master for total quality of sound. Purists in their art The Roves say of the new recordings: “This is the first fully 'Hi Fi' track we’ve ever recorded. We added flutes, more harmonies, keyboards, mellotron and a 12 string Rickenbacker on there too. It’s a clue to the direction we’re about to take - A bigger sound, more interesting elements added into the production”. The band play guitar fuelled British rock and roll music with influences they say not from the music itself but from all art forms.
