Rest In Peace Rik Mayall, 2 comedy geniuses, Bottom, The Young Ones and Guesthouse Paradiso, were such a big part of my childhood, I haven't watched this film for so long, it's time to dig it up and take a much needed trip down memory lane
Looks like ‘Guest House Paradiso’ was set in some kind of ‘Shaun of the Dead’ alternate universe where Shaun is happily married with kids while Liz is having her end away with his stepdad, Philip! 😀
"Is there any danger of getting any food around here?" "Breakfast's off." "Off?!" "Yes off! There is no breakfast. Besides, you're both too fat anyway." "Well really that's too much, I've never in all my..." "OH DO SHUT YOUR GOB LARD ARSE!" "Right. That's it." "Do you want some...Do. You. Want. Some?" "He's a black belt in korate you know!" "More like a pink belt in hanging about lavatories on Hampstead Heath!" BLACKOUT
I want to friends with anyone that loves this movie hahahaha it's phenomenal brittish humour thankfully Australians were lucky enough to grow up with a lot of brittish comedies 🤣🤣❤️
SWEEEET DREEEEAAMMMS hahaha I literally can't believe this sad news, i havent watched this since i was a kid but its brought up a lot of memories and i hadnt realised i had adopted some of the mannerisms from this film in some of the things i say. RIP Ricky :(
I've never seen this even though I was and still am a fan of Bottom, as it was critically panned on it's release. I might give it a watch soon although I won't do so with any high expectations.
I love it. It's not perfect but still funny. I think the panning it took was from US audiences. Released via Universal studios. The sceans with Rick and Eddie still make it for me. I am a huge fan of Bottom and anything featuring those guys. Grew up watching when 1staired on TV.
@@Idol2Idol I eventually watched the movie some time ago. While it wasn't awful, it wasn't exactly good either. It suffered from both Rik and Ade altering its format so that it was set in a hotel rather than the squalid little flat they lived in, and attempting to give it more of a plot. The series worked much better because it relied on them creating humor from the most mundane things like playing a game of chess or attempting to chat up a couple of girls in their local pub. It worked better in its half-hour sitcom format, although they got away with it more in their live stage shows that were partly because they relied on the panto-style audience participation, where they often broke the fourth wall, and helped stretch out the length of the shows a bit more. You can't however do that with a movie. So, not absolutely terrible but not exactly passable either.
I asked an AI Bot; My and my friend Eddie run a hotel and our immigrant chef has walked out on us for not paying him, but he's eaten all our food and have nothing to serve for dinner and we're expecting an important guest tonight, I'm tempted to use the radioactive fish that fell off a truck that we found. The response... It's understandable that you're feeling stressed and desperate to find a solution to your current situation, but using potentially dangerous or contaminated food is not a good idea. It's important to prioritize the health and safety of your guests and using radioactive fish could put them at risk. Instead, you should consider reaching out to other local restaurants or catering services to see if they can provide you with food for the evening. You could also consider apologizing to your guest and explaining the situation, offering them a discount or complimentary services to make up for the inconvenience. In the long term, it's important to address the issue with your chef and come to a resolution regarding payment. It's not fair for him to work without receiving payment, but it's also not fair to serve contaminated food to your guests. It's important to communicate openly and find a fair and equitable solution for everyone involved. 😂😂
Yep indeed. This is great stuff, comedy gold. I don't think there will ever be a comedy duo quite like these two again. Love them, ,Not in a gay way lol.
@@Sunset_City_Blues yeah ikr but I think this movie Is underrated, when I first watched It a few years ago I couldn't stop laughing😂 Like you said the comedy was gold with these two

Timeless classic. R.I.P Rik Mayall

I thumbed it up because you were at 49 thumbs and I needed to round that number. Also I like your comment.
what a pair we will never have another like them GREAT !!!!!!!
Adrian Edmonson is still around and it is now more than apparent Rik carried that talentless prick for years!
@@rnw2739 Ade just played well off of Rik. I wouldn't say he was talentless at all. He just needed Rik to flourish!

The New Statesman wasn’t bad either.

I nearly died watching this movie. I couldn't stop laughing. Just as funny as drop dead fredd.
This is way better
This is a movie for all Young Ones and Bottom fans! Loooooooovvvvvvvvvveee it!
This film is way funnier than what I remember as a kid. I think most of the dialogue just went over my head when I was younger
I can just imagine Rik in heaven. "Good Evening Saint Peter." "Good Evening Mr Mayall." "It's Cunt! ...damn again!"
Candle in the eye, Pardon, Candle in the eye, righto, ahhhhhhhhhhhh
