Railfanning Henrico and Petersburg, VA 4-29-24 (feat. CSX 1973, Amtrak 160, BNSF AC44, and more)

Yes, I'm skipping ahead a little. I've still got other videos to catch up on from March and April of this year too. This is among my first railfanning trips since I left the trucking industry. Enjoy!

(2:45): The train I came out for! CSX M409 smoothly cruises by Lakeside with #1973, the Chessie heritage unit on the point! This is one of my favorite CSX heritage units, and my first one to actually be leading! When I was trucking, I always had bad luck with leading CSX HUs. They'd only lead through my area when I was away, or when I was home, they'd be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Well that was all about to change!

(13:18): I later decided to head down to Collier, as CSX M409 was still working Acca and I wanted to get him again. Sometime after I arrived, jca1995 (who was there when I got there) and I were surprised to catch the Pepsi Can unit leading P079 SB!

(14:05): NS 277 rolls by Collier with a BNSF AC4400CW as one of the mid-train DPUs. BNSF AC4400CWs aren't super common, because BNSF owns less of those than they do Dash 9s. The BNSF AC4400CWs were ordered pretty late, right before they switched to pre-production GEVOs. At the same time, Amtrak P090 passes over top of 277.

(18:12): NS V62 slowly pulls up to Seacoast in the distance.
(19:10): CSX I031 rolls south along the A-Line with its mixture of Tropicana reefers and intermodals. The beginning of this clip is me observing a butterfly.

(21:05): NS V62 slowly pulls up the hill enters Collier Yard. It's crazy to think that the trailing unit is one of the last remaining 9500 series Dash 9s.

(25:21): Amtrak P095 takes the Norfolk connection at B.X. to head over to NS rails.
