i dont know if people realize how insane this run is -one of the hardest, most technical speedruns ever getting crushed -while explaining everything really concisely -and keeping track of donations and plugging the charities -AND riffing with the couch -and this run was at like 3 am linkus is a fuckin beast and he gained a fan
I'll also add that the already extremely physically demanding start of the run didn't go perfectly so he had to spend even more time than intended mashing
Linkus was running this so late at night, I think a lot of people were planning on sleeping but just had to stay up with how engaging he was. Even Jerma stayed on the couch for the full ~3 hours despite having to take a bathroom break since the beginning. Linkus has the technical skill, explanations, and even comedic timing down to a science, best showcased at the 32:23 zombie hover lmao
53:50 Linkus is so right about zelda games being such good speed games. It's like each glitch is one of the items you'd get in a dungeon and the puzzles are the skips and timesaves. It just translates the casual gameplay loop into a competitive/more engaging environment.
I don’t watch Linkus much but that might have to change, this run was super informative, endlessly entertaining, and wildly impressive. He balanced knowledge and entertainment and incredible skills with an almost impressive ease.
I don't really know so I'm gonna make an educated guess. Speedrunners make many attempts at the same run. Which means you could theoretically have all the top 10 spots be the same person. I'd assume that to avoid this they made it so you cab only hold one place at a time. I dont remember what place he was at the time but he held the 2nd place spot for a while. Anyways TLDR Linkus already held a higher position so he couldnt have 8th place, but this run would have placed him there despite him being sleep deprived and explaning everything as he goes. @Myl0696
Oh yeah, it definitely saves more time unbuffered, but at the cost of him getting his arm more tired more often and thus less runs in a day if he doesn't pull it off
For those who may not know, but every time Linkus wants to blame the monitor, he is 100% correct in doing so. Refresh rate and quality all affect on his gameplay, especially one that heavily relies on the frame rate itself. This is the same instance for fps professionals, frames are important to comfort, performance, and key inputs. We as casuals might not see a difference of 30-60-144 frames but someone with a trained eye and thousands of hourly practices will notice it, only when the frames hit an astronomical rate such as the new 244s+ is where it's almost inhuman to notice a difference. (Though it is worth mentioning going from 30 to 144 you will definitely notice a difference; but in small increments, most wont.)
I have been watching linkus for a while now and it’s absolutely insane that he gets to show off how cool of a speedrun ww is at an event like this. It’s crazy seeing all these different speedrunners in one place.
It has taken me 3-4 days to finish this video but I keep coming back to it. This is so cool. My older brothers played OOT and I did a little bit but WW was my first Zelda game. Watching this was so cool and crazy to me considering I spent hours beating it the first time
One im biased because i love linkus and ZFG, but two i enjoyed their runs because they were GDQ frequents, they have a way with explaining as they go that just. Feels pleasant to listen to. Loved this run :)
Linkus is by far one of the best Zelda Speedrunners out there with how consistent he is and how informative he is. 10/10 Speedrunner, would watch again. :D
I remember when barrier skip was finally found and linkus used it at GDQ for the first time, an amazing moment in history. So happy I was watching his speedruns before the skip because I’ve never felt as excited about anything since then 😂 everyone in the speedrunning community lost their minds 1:28:07
Yes I believe I’ve heard linkus explain it in another run once maybe an any%, iirc the cutscene is hardcoded to have you have the mirror shield equipped bc they assumed everyone would have to have it at that point, so if you don’t have it you just get it for free
Watching Linkus run this game when I found him a few years ago, listening to him geek out over this game, seeing his passion has alone moved Wind Waker up on my list from the bottom to top 5 simply because he got me to wanna play this game again. Turns out, little me just didn't like the long cut scene at the start, then the triforce shards part
I discovered Linkus years ago because of WW Speedrun and still love watching every Zelda related Stuff he does, he's so fcking entertaining and good at it ^^

one of us. one of us.
Having Jerma in the background too just makes this whole vod
welcome brother 🫡
Don't forget about Jerma, could you imagine having to play with that psychopath staring over your shoulder, licking his lips, ready to kill?
unbuffered manual super-swim is the most insane thing
his fiancé is one lucky girl
This was literally one of the best segments of the whole event. It was like Dougdoug's skyrim run but three times longer
Like Doug’s run, but more broken
Linkus was running this so late at night, I think a lot of people were planning on sleeping but just had to stay up with how engaging he was. linkus is just so entertaining AND informative to watch, a very difficult balancing act he has down to a science
This was the best game of the event. So surprising. So fucking fun to watch.
And it went from 10pm to like 3am their time, I was hearing morning birds by the end of this run
Linkus is such a goat. Always has been.
Linkus is also one of the best speedrunners ever. He's an amazing humble person who explains a lot very well.
53:50 Linkus is so right about zelda games being such good speed games. It's like each glitch is one of the items you'd get in a dungeon and the puzzles are the skips and timesaves. It just translates the casual gameplay loop into a competitive/more engaging environment.
I love how Jerma chimes in sometimes, completely flabbergasted.
The fact that this Jerma guy isn’t Lovage is blowing my mind. The voice is the same, the astonishment exuberance is identical
@@stevenskochinski785Do you not know who Jerma is??
Jerma really like, was the embodyment of chat there lol. Absolutely wild.
@@blackmage1276
What a blessed soul he is, to not know of the monster - What I’d give to rid myself of the knowledge. Truly, ignorance is bliss
I don’t watch Linkus much but that might have to change, this run was super informative, endlessly entertaining, and wildly impressive. He balanced knowledge and entertainment and incredible skills with an almost impressive ease.
His randomizer runs are my favorite! Hes very entertaining to watch imo
Remember watching him back in 2013 with 15 consecytive views while running. He's has over ten years to practice the game so it makes sense
This run is technically P8 in the Speedrun Leaderboards...A Marathon run. Just crazy how consistent Linkus is.
So true, he wasted time on purpose, not everything went perfect and he even explained everything
Sorry for asking but what does p8 mean? Like position 8? Eighth place?
@@Myl0696Yes

@@vincentkuhlman7501 oh that actually makes a ton of sense, thank you!! Linkus is really the goat!
@17:29 "Nintendo pays me for my glitch" is a great line lol
man i always love watching linkus explain speedruns. he’s so entertaining and never misses a beat
I was waiting for this one. Linkus was so fun through this entire event and this run was genuinely one of the craziest runs ive ever seen
20 minutes of world record while running casually, chatting, and likely sleep deprived is crazy
30 minutes, but still incredible
@17:22 "you're going to hear something very important"
*Queue melee menu music*
I knew about the first trick, but I never knew Linkus decided to start doing it without the pause buffers! Absolutely crazy!
Oh yeah, it definitely saves more time unbuffered, but at the cost of him getting his arm more tired more often and thus less runs in a day if he doesn't pull it off
Love pointcrow on the comms just being amazed really mirrored my reactions hahaha
Linkus absolutely crushed this run so glad he was at the event

Linkus the goat, loved how baffled the couch was the whole time
Linkus is so GOATed to have at events like these

2:29:59 Going from a "no music" section to a boss fight that crashes if you make too much noise, that's some Quiet Place shit right there!

Eric fanboying the whole time us hilarious
Shoutouts to Stanz for verbalizing all our thoughts on how cool this run was
Linkus is a goddamn magician and storyteller this is so GOOD
It is so bizarre that the Gamecube version of Wind Waker has better dual-screen functionality than the WiiU version.
“Burn the witch” as aryll floats away 😂😂
i need to watch more things from linkus this was one of the best things ive ever watched
Linkus is an incredible speedrunner. His Zelda wind waker runs will always be peak
This is genuinely the coolest, most impressive, and most entertaining speedrun showcase I've ever seen man, Linkus the goat
1:56:30 ish Hingle McKringleberry is from Key and Peele, their North South College Football skit, ABSOLUTELY hilarious
I love each runner is so nuanced in presenting things
Yes, every one of these speed runs have been extremely fun to watch
Linkus is so good at explaining and being entertaining
I WILL NEVER GET BORED OF WATCHING LINKUS7 WIND WAKER SPEEDRUN
Crazy that this would still be the 8th place speedrun rn
Been waiting for this one
One im biased because i love linkus and ZFG, but two i enjoyed their runs because they were GDQ frequents, they have a way with explaining as they go that just. Feels pleasant to listen to. Loved this run :)
17:29 linkus is so cold with it
I love coming back to this vod. The chemistry between event, the couch, and Linkus is infectious 🥰
"Is this the face of a conquerer?" (points at thumbnail)
"Yes. Yes it definitely is. And they've conquered time and space too."
This is such a cool run! I need a summoning salt video on this 😂
Quick everyone watch before the video is taken down again
Linkus has slowly solidified himself as the best zelda runner of all tike
MANUAL-MANUAL SUPER SWIM!?!?!?! WTF
BOUT DAMN TIME this was the only one i really missed 😭
Fell asleep watching this live since it was 3am my time. Excited to finally watch the full thing
Linkus is by far one of the best Zelda Speedrunners out there with how consistent he is and how informative he is. 10/10 Speedrunner, would watch again. :D
you dont know how bad ive been waiting for this one
Bro, Linkus just had such amazing energy always. Such a joy to watch 🙌
Best run of the event, super sick
Actually one of the most entertaining runs ever
The jingle not playing after the buildup when you do chest storage triggers me so hard. It's such a blueball
my goat im so surprised by linkus no matter how many times i watch his runs and the way he explains everything hes so cool
insane! I'm 36 minutes in and it's still so hype!
EDIT: amazing run and so entertaining! Linkus is great!
1:19:34 shoutout to the 4 donations that synced up their names like that
I gladly stayed up until 1 am to watch this live. great run
I was at work when Linkus did this run, i'm happy i get to watch it now!
This is amazing, Linkus is a beast
loved seeing my favorite zelda speedrunner being featured in this event!
Oh hey, glad to see this run's back up!!
Linkus is an amazing showman!
yay the vod is fixed!
This was so fun to watch. I’ve never played windwaker and it’s very confusing but very cool!
Knowing all the botw that pointcrow had played it is funny listening to his jaw but the floor over linkus lol
Oh wow, i knew linkus was an expert at manual super swim, but i didn't realize he was the FIRST person to pull it off!
One of the best runs in the event for sure!
Flashbacks to Pausa were great
I found Linkus through the almighty algorithm, but dang I'm so glad i did

That escape from lavender island shit was wild
Super Swimming WICKED
This is amazing, so glad to have found this guy!
edit: finally finished, holy shit what a run! So engaging, informative and exciting. what a beast
watching this at 3 am was a wonder
Best run of the event
thanks mr ludwig vods
Linkus is NUTS
Dude I was waiting for it to come out again I think it got taken down a couple days ago
Reminder that this man acted like this is one of HIS OWN VIDEOS
This is the best video on RUclips. This guy is a beast
I still plug in my gamecube and play wind waker and twilight princess from time to time, such great games
The best game to watch a speedrun ngl
This was fantastic
I can only imagine what watching this speedrun as one of the O G developers of Windwaker would feel like 😳😤😱🥺
Seahawks should have ran the ball…
does anyone know why link suddenly spawns the mirror shield when the puppet ganon fight starts?
It might just be a trigger to appear in inventory since you need it for the last ganon fight.
Yes I believe I’ve heard linkus explain it in another run once maybe an any%, iirc the cutscene is hardcoded to have you have the mirror shield equipped bc they assumed everyone would have to have it at that point, so if you don’t have it you just get it for free

Truly a professional
That’s pointcrow in the back right? I’m surprised how unfamiliar he was with this run.
i loved watching this live
Something to add is that this run was done from 2 am to 5 am pst
correction: it was 3 am to 6 am EST, I would know, I'm one of the poor saps that stayed up to watch it
I feel like I was watching a NASA rocket launch
I discovered Linkus years ago because of WW Speedrun and still love watching every Zelda related Stuff he does, he's so fcking entertaining and good at it ^^
This event was basically LudwiGDQ
Nicely timed donation there 1:24:54
That was fun to watch
As intended 😎
thank you linkus
Bra speedrun, du är grym!
