Thomas's heart to heart with Edward was the most wholesome thing, and Gordon pretending to be innocent at the end was very funny. All the extra little nuances and interactions make it feel so real. 😄 Trampy does such a great job with all the engine's banter; and props to you too for using all the engine's expressions so dynamically! I absolutely love to see it. 👏😂
@@IsraeliGovernment I also wanna say, that was a nice touch having Thomas face away from Gordon's train! I dare even call it brilliant, cos of how well it helps sell Thomas's interactions with Fatt Hatt and Gordon. It worked very well for the whole sequence. :)
The added detail that the engines don’t have their numbers yet and especially the other engines during the early years of the North Western Railway is such a nice touch, also Thomas facing backwards and getting pulled by Gordon was definitely hilarious
I love how someone finally went with the illustrations and made Thomas go backwards. Like you see Gordon going as normal and then Thomas at the back just like "AÆÃÂÆĀHHHH".
The way everyone acted in this felt more human. It just seemed so natural and in-character the way each argued and spoke to each other. Also, props to the cinematography in this video! Can't wait to see what you do next
I love the added moment of Gordon acting like the whole thing was an accident. Most adaptations of the story will make it clear that he was disciplined for his trick. Here, though? Gordon is a clever sod. He took advantage of the fact that the express was late due to Thomas not only sleeping in but stalling. Owing to being late, Gordon had to start in a rush. Thomas mouthing off to the Fat Controller meant everyone was too distracted to realise he was still coupled to the coaches. This is one of the best takes on the story for the simple reason that the morality on display is largely gray. If anyone is genuinely good, it's Edward. Gordon's an arrogant blowhard, but Thomas is also a bolshy twerp.
I was not expecting this to be so good! None of the jokes fell flat, the heart to heart between Thomas and Edward was very wholesome, and the climax was beyond satisfying and exciting. You just earned yourself another subscriber.
6:30 I actually love how you made Thomas pull the coaches behind him, and him being pulled along the line backwards. This is accurate to Reginald Payne's illustrations because you're keeping his forgotten legacy alive! Because in his illustration, Thomas was facing the wrong way, facing the coach whereas he was suppose to be facing away. I think, to keep Payne's legacy alive after being forgotten for several decades, future remakes of Thomas and Gordon should have Thomas being pulled backwards behind the express!🤣
The music choose for the moment when Gordon pulling Thomas is prefect and Henry saying hu seem i am not messing much just adds to laughter. but Edward is right a long express run is no joke as thomas found out by his long drink.
This Adaption was GLORIUS!!! You did an amazing job adapting Trampy's audio in this video!! If you adapted anymore of their stuff, I would definitely watch it!!
Another absolute goldmine from you :) This is, in my absolute opinion, the epitome of Thomas. no bs, nothing filler to pad out a long runtime. An actual good story strung together with entertaining banter, stellar music choice and seriously brilliant cinematography. Thank you for the vid lol. I sincerely love how you're using talking trains and in a well-handled nature *as a medium* to showcase what the RWS and Thomas actually is - a day-in-the-life sitcom of working trains in a busy industrial railway, where we get to see them banter, argue and screw up over the course of hilarious yet grounded railway shenanigans. (this, rather than making them giggle and gaggle over being best friends, make the funny vain train freak out over a scratch on their paint, have pointless, boring shots of oversaturated trains chuffing along a vanilla countryside over monologues and narration for several minus straight. you get the point.) It's a disappointment upon watching glimmering, encapsulated diamonds in the rough like this and comparing it to how the showrunners over the years have taken the fact they're talking trains as an excuse to not take them seriously, hence overall missing out on the MAIN APPEAL of what the RWS was. This video perfectly captures and conveys the essence of everything Thomas is, touching the intial alluring concept of what british 1900 era trains personified would do when given office-work personalities.
Thomas & Gordon in a more accurate telling. Seriously, love the interactions between the characters, especially with how sassy Thomas is. And even talking back at the Fat Controller! Whoa-ho-ho, did he cross the wrong person by doing so~ Something tells me The Fat Controller might be having a stern word with Gordon when he returns though. Gordon's likely to play the innocent though.
I noticed an anachronism at 7:42. Edward's train is made up of Diagram 1/353 8T cattle wagons, built by British Railways in 1949. And if I'm not mistaken, this story takes place in the early-mid 1920s.
I absolutely loved the dialogue in this! It felt so natural an organic. You had the perfect blend of comedy and heart to heart. What an incredible adaption! One of the best!!!!
BRAVO 👏 I've too few brain cells to properly express how wonderful the story and the editing are I love the dialogue especially - very engrossing and very dynamic cheers and keep up the good work
I love the amount of sarcasm in these videos, but yet how realistic the conversations are amongst the engines. The script these guys come up with is amazing! Great work and bang on!
This is some of the funniest crap I've seen in my life, it is able to balance what makes thomas good yet is enough to make me laugh. it keeps the original appeal and brings in its on thing, I love it a lot! Also recently I became obsessed with "you really got me" so when I heard it kick in a had a small heart attack
I love how you added more depth to the plot. The original “Thomas gets Tricked” will always be a beloved classic but you can see some more dialogue to get a better understanding as to why Thomas acts cheeky, especially to the bigger engines. He feels under-appreciated with how he works and doesn’t get a thanks from anybody for what he does. That and the constant boasting just adds fuel to an annoyed fire building in Thomas. The heart-to-heart between Thomas and Edward really brings out that Edward seems to be Thomas’s true friend, considering that Edward, not only gets his own trains, but treats Thomas as an equal. I will say though, the music playing during Gordon’s run and the scene with them passing by Henry’s tunnel, Henry’s reaction, and Thomas screaming immediately after that is hilarious.😂
I must say, that was a bold move to make thomas facing the other way as portrayed in the original 1946 illustration. But it was definitely a fresh change of pace. Also I freakin love that you used orange express coaches. the last time I’ve ever seen some use that was gosh, back in 2009. like look up old trainz thomas videos and that was like the last time some one did that. Other than that. this was an outstanding adaptation, a lot of fun camera angles and facial expressions. keep up the great work.
Hello, {israeligovernment}! I must say that this portrayal of Thomas & Gordon is an absolute masterpiece. I've already watched the other three episodes, and I'll eventually comment on the other episodes to give you my thoughts about the way every event is handled. The tone of the episode is refreshingly tense: With Henry shut in the tunnel, the other engines must pull their weight and then some in order to keep the railway going. I like that Henry is shut in the tunnel to begin with, which makes sense for the plot. Here's my thought process: Thomas is always teasing Gordon, but why? Is he just doing it for kicks, or is Thomas trying to get back at him? If it's the latter, what did Gordon do? He's a pompous engine, and surely his overblown ego might've pushed everyone to the limits, especially Thomas, who's regarded merely for his size. With all the trains he has to arrange, Thomas is, understandably, frustrated and burnt out. With barely a thanks to be had from everyone, mostly because there's too much work for such a thanks, Thomas also feels unappreciated, and Gordon's bragging doesn't help. I like the use of Edward as a figure of wisdom here. He's always taken this role, but it's especially prominent here. _He's_ been through the same pain as all the other engines, and he sympathizes with everyone. He's a really good mentor to Thomas, and reminds him that he is just as valuable as everyone else. Let's just appreciate the fact that everyone is unhinged and unfiltered here! I loved how Thomas absolutely destroyed Gordon and wouldn't let up, and Gordon...bro, he's an absolute _savage!_ When I first watched this episode as he dragged Thomas along the mainline, he had a _pretty_ intimidating presence! He was a force to be reckoned with. Sir Topham Hatt was no exception. His appearance was brief, but it was just enough to show that he wasn't playing around: He means _business._ In a way, he was a father figure to Thomas, as he put him in his place when he started to get snippy with him. He is _not_ fun and games, but he also cares for his engines, as is demonstrated in the three proceeding episodes. Needless to say, this is a 10/10 contribution to the TTTE fandom.
