What a lovely video, a great advert for the lugger. Good speed, sails much better than I imagined.

The furler problem is caused by the swivel atop the mast. It twists if not free enough to rotate. Looking fwd to next episodes. Capt John..

      Hi John,
Didn't realise there was a furler problem?! Where did you see that?
The video is actually a compilation of two years so has my old standard furler in some shots and the new Profurl C260 roller reefing system in others. I modified the old jib by sewing on some luff tape.
      Thanks for watching.

Love that little fore deck cover. How well does it work?

Works well as an undercover storage area. Some water does spurt in if the bow dips into a wave or when heeling hard over. On the negative side, it does makes anchoring and tying up slightly more difficult and it's no longer possible to walk round the mast. The foredeck only goes on when I do my camping trips on the West Coast of Scotland.

Hi Steve, great video many thanks. Could you please tell me where you bought the fabric foredeck ?

      Hi Kevin, Thanks!
The foredeck is home made to my own design. Are you a member of the Drascombe Association? There is an article in DAN No. 134 that describes the "build". If not, then get in touch via messenger or other.
