Hi Mary, I hope this doesn't come off as too negative but I would return the Hermes Birkin Shoulder tout de suite. I find the profile not ideal for your petite silhouette. I would also skip the PP Drive bag as I find it too busy and would think one could grow a bit tired of the design. I would instead purchase a Hermes bag in your ideal proportions, color, leather and hardware. I feel a purchase at this price point should ideally reach one's vision of perfection or near perfection. 🧡🛍🧡
Very nice bag Mary. The color is just chef’s kiss! From an esthetic perspective, I think that the Phoebe Philo one would suit your petite frame a little better though. It’s the width on the bottom of the Hermes bag that appears too wide in my opinion. That said, I used to work at Hermes in my early 20s and can tell you that their quality and dedication to craft is unparalleled. If that’s what you are looking for, stick with the Hermes, simply because one cannot make long-term predictions about the product durability of the more recent Phoebe brand.
I would keep, especially since Hermes just relaunched this in the last show no? Only thing it would have been better in another colour, since you already have a red birkin.

For some reason, I don't like the bag. It looks bulky on you and seems very heavy. But I love the color; this is such a beautiful burgundy. Okay, my honest opinion, knowing that you are a Celine 16 and The Raw Sofia kind of girl, you will use this bag a few times and then put it in your closet and don't reach out to it. I recommend maybe getting a smaller shoulder Birkin, that is more structured, not as heavy, and would look better with your body frame.

I've read through all of the polarized comments below and think that you should keep it IF you think you will reach for it fairly often and it won't be too heavy. I wouldn't do an either or between this and the PP bag - they are very different IMO. I really don't understand why some people think that a "shoulder Birkin" is dated. It's a very classic look and your look is what you want it to be, very timeless. Also, you may be petite, but only you can decide if this bag is too big. I think that the trend having been more towards mini bags in recent years has skewed people's perspectives. Sometimes, we need a bag that really holds things, not just something that fits your frame. As long as it's within reason, which I think this is.

The PP drive bag is beautiful but it’s a different more structured look and it probably isn’t going anywhere for a while so you have time to think about adding that to your collection. Forget the Drive bag. I got my shoulder Birkin when it was launched . I love it and it traveled all around the world with me.
